This semi-custom SportRack roof rack easily installs on your vehicle's bare roof so you can carry extra cargo to your next destination. Adjustable, rotating footpads combine with an easy-to-use numbering system to make the rack conform to your roof for a good fit.

A unique numbering system is inscribed on the crossbars to aid in installation. This system corresponds to numbers noted in the easy-to-read application guide. First, find the number indicated for your car, and then slide the roof-rack feet along the crossbars until they line up with the appropriate number for your application. Tighten the feet in place with the included Allen wrench.

Refer to the application guide to find specific measurements that allow you to properly position the rack on your roof. To begin installing the roof rack on your vehicle, open the passenger's- and driver's-side doors. Place the front crossbar first, and make sure that the screws that hold the clamps in the roof-rack feet are loose before positioning the feet on your roof.

Before attaching the clamps to the door jambs and tightening them down, you need to make sure that the feet and pads are oriented correctly. The bottom of each foot can be rotated to better fit the slope of your roof. Make sure that the feet are sitting flush against the roof.

Once the feet are properly positioned, attach the clamps to the door jambs and tighten via the screws in the feet. After the front crossbar is positioned, review the instructions for the measurements needed to place the rear crossbar and repeat the same process for that crossbar.

Once everything is tightened down, place the locking covers over the feet to deter theft of the rack.

WHAT AN ABSOLUTE PIECE OF GARBAGE! We read instructions and installed carefully. Weighed bicycle and rack to make sure it wasn't over the weight limit. Took off for first spring ride, got on the interstate and the whole rack slid off of the roof and VERY LUCKILY landed on the side of the road upright without harming any other motorists. It did, however, cause damage to the roof/window area of the car that will cost a fortune to repair and gouged the rear window. The cheap clamps that attach the rack to the roof weren't strong enough to hold the rack on and all broke and/or pulled/twisted off. It was a windy day and it happened when going about 60 mph.

This rack is great. I have used it for a year of carrying a kayak around on a Chevy Cruze. It is very easy to install and remove...probably takes 2-3 minutes at the most. The clamps don't interfere with the door seal, so I've never had any issues with rain or air noise getting around the seal. Since the rack doesn't actually bolt down to the car and simply clamps to the drip edge around the door frames, I use a strap at the front and rear of the kayak. I don't think I would trust the rack's clamping force to retain the rack and a kayak or two at highway speeds without the front and back straps.

Comments
Since buying the rack, Ive upgraded my ride to a latest model Chevy Cruze. This rack clamps well to the new model and still no additional road noise, leaks or any other issues that Ive noticed. I have noticed that the cross bar is small enough that some kayak carriers have a difficult time clamping tightly. This is an issue with the carrier, though. The cross bars have proven to be plenty strong for supporting a couple kayaks.

2012 Volkswagen Jetta

Installed very easily in about 30 mins. Good, solid roof rack for the money. The reason I rated 4 stars is because on my car, a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta, the weather stripping seals at the top of the doors gets pushed out quite a ways and there’s a decent amount of wind noise that comes in through there. Enough noise comes in that I will have to purchase some additional weather stripping and place it near the clamp of the rack inside the door where it shuts. I have no other complaints besides that. Just be aware of the weather stripping on your car if it’s similar to what is on a 2012 Jetta. I will update once I install the additional weather stripping to see if it helps or not.

Comments
I recommend to add a fairing to divert the wind to reduce the wind noise. I recommend Inno fairing part INA262 to fit the 50 square bars of your roof rack.

The SportRack has been fantastic for the money! I have taken a heavy sit on top kayak out 50+ times and gone on 1500+ mile trips with this rack. Pros: price, bang for your buck, decent weight limit, truly 'universal' compatibility, simple, compatible with many mounting cradles etc. Cons: it's a square rack it is not quiet, you MUST check your screw tightness periodically it will randomly loosen (not dangerously, but like, might need tightening daily sometimes, weekly others, monthly sometimes), there's a learning curve finding the right level of tightness for the attachment screws. Fantastic rack for the price. If you can't afford a 'better' brand this will do everything they do up to 130lbs. Definitely worth $xxx. P.S. etrailer's custom videos and support team are FANTASTIC I'm surprised they're prices are so low!

Just okay, not perfect. This is a universal product for many cars. For my Corolla it isn’t a perfect fit mostly due to roof curvature from to back.

A good rack to transport my kayak. Instructions were clear, and the fitting guide was accurate for my 2017 Toyota Corolla. Once I figured out what was going on, the rack went on perfectly. It is snug on the car. Unloaded, there is no wind noise created by the rack. I added 3 1/4" diameter pool noodles to the rack crossbars. Cut the noodle lengthwise, wiggle it over the bar, and secure with zip ties. Use medium thread lock on all the screws. I've had positive comments on the rack.

Comments
The rack has been on the roof of my Toyota Corolla SE with a 6 speed manual transmission Woo hoo! for a year now. After numerous loadings and unloadings of my Pelican Bandit 100NXT 10 foot kayak, the rack is still rock solid on the car. No adjustments or tightening have been needed. This is a top-notch rack.

We bought this rack so that we could use a car top soft side luggage bag when we moved from Iowa to Manitoba in December last year. I modified the rack to accommodate the soft side luggage bag by fitting it with bent pieces of electrical conduit (see the photo). The luggage bag sat on top of the conduit and was strapped to the sport rack and it worked amazingly well. We drove through some nasty cold and wind and it stayed where it was put. Since we did not want to drive a large moving truck in the winter, we moved with only the stuff we carried in (and on) the car that day. When we went back for the moving truck last summer, we brought the canoe to Manitoba and started using the sport rack (minus the conduit pieces) to carry our old style 72 lbs aluminum canoe on top of the car. Again, works like a charm. I have now acquired proper straps for attaching the canoe to the car and sport rack, but I see no reason to upgrade the rack. The only drawback of the rack is making sure I don't lose the instructions on exactly where to place it on top of the car, and the fact that putting it on for the season is a bit fiddley, but once it was on it rode there all summer, comes off quickly and easily, and takes up very little space for storage. We love our sport rack. It turned out to be a great purchase!

Got this to haul a wooden canoe to and from bodies of water on my Chevy Cruz. Works as intended. The canoe is very heavy, but the bars handle it very well. One word of caution. I keep my racks on essentially permanently. You will hear a lot of wind noise at or above 70 MPH and they can catch crosswinds. Overall, though, I kind of expected that. They're a wonderful addition to my vehicle.

Bought this to transport my fishing kayak. Got it today and installed it. Directions were super easy, and had it on in 15 minutes. Put the kayak up and strapped it down, took it for a test drive. At speeds of 50mph, it held flawlessly. Good sturdy construction, and a wonderful product. I would totally recommend this product.

Comments
Its been about a year, and I still love this product. Got a new vehicle and the racks adjusted easily to fit it. Have hauled 2 kayaks on them, and still no issues. They are as good as the day I first got them. Still 5 stars and definitely would recommend buying these.

As of this review, we've had the roof rack for one year. The rack was put on my wife's 2010 Ford Edge. She's used it to carry her kayak mostly, but has also carried 2x4's she bought it Home Depot, and a Christmas tree. We have had zero issues with this roof rack. If you are looking for a reasonably priced roof rack for your vehicle, I would recommend this product.

2014 Toyota Corolla

Installation of the SR1010 was a bit challenging. Had to go back and forth, up and down to make sure all the measurements are done correctly. Dimensions giving on the instruction manual was off for the 2014 Toyota Corolla S Plus. The leg kit clamps could have been a little more flexible to fit the naked roof. Installation time took a little over hour. I wouldn’t recommend SR1010 to anyone who is a novice. “You get what you pay for.” That’s what my wife told me.

Got the rack for my 2014 Chevy Cruze LTZ to attach j racks to haul kayaks. Fits great, had to adjust between 17-16 on bar setting, feels very solid, installs and removes easily. Have not been able to take kayaks out yet but feeling confident the rack will work great. Came assembled, with instruction pamphlet, all materials received were in great shape. Plan to do a future review after utilizing rack when weather is better but at this time is as advertised and feeling excited.

Ok, this rack will take a bit of man handling...if you have a 2014 legacy, then you should forget about the fit quide cause you won't be even close to installing this rack... This thing is complete trash, maybe good if you only drive 25 mph everywhere you go. Had this thing on my car for about a week. Was on my way to a mountain to go snowboarding that was 2 hours away. Was about 30 minutes away driving down the highway in the right lane going the speed limit and this thing completely flew off my car. The Yakima Evo snowboard rack was still attached tho, so that thing is a beast. But this sports rack is completely trash and I WOULD NOT reccomend it. DONT BE CHEAP and buy a Thule. If I could put no stars I would

Came beat up. Messaged the help desk and haven't gotten a reply. I have a trip in two days and don't know if I will be able to use this because I don't want to install one that came beat up like this and not get a refund. Disappointed in the lack of response. All I got was a survey back from them. These pictures show four separate flaws in the racks. Pluse one part of it has a slight bend in not shown in pictures.

2013 Chevrolet Cruze

I put the racks on my car last night, took me a bit to figure out how to adjust them but once I figured it out I realized the instructions were spot on . . . just took me some fussing to have it sink into my brain. They look nice, can't wait to put the j-hooks and kayaks on tonight. It rained overnight and it looks like they didn't make my doors leak so that's good. I haven't used them for hauling the kayaks yet, hopefully I'll still be happy with my purchase after that. So far so good!

The best fairing option for the Sportrack Roof Rack part # SR1010 is going to be the Inno Fairing part # INA261. When picking out a fairing you want to go with the size that matches the distance between the feet of the rack. So the 40 inch long Inno would be a great option.

  • SportRack Roof Rack to Fit the 2013 Nissan Juke
Your 2013 Nissan Juke isn't a long vehicle by any means but it does have plenty of space to mount the SportRack roof rack, part # SR1010. So you don't need the short-roof adapter, part # SR1116, like some vehicles do. According to the roof rack's installation details, which I've linked on this page for you, the front crossbar should sit 10 inches towards the windshield from the door seam (measurement A) and the rear crossbar sits 26 inches behind the front crossbar (measurement B). • Fit of Thule # TH830 Stacker Kayak Carrier w/ SportRack # SR1010 Roof Rack on 2013 Honda Civic Sedan
The Thule Stacker Kayak carrier, part # TH830 would work fine with the SportRack # SR1010 roof rack on your Civic. I've confirmed this with SportRack. The Stacker can carry up to 4 kayaks that are 10 feet long or less. The roof rack itself has a 130 lb capacity, but keep in mind, that capacity could be limited if the roof capacity of the vehicle is less than that of the rack.

  • SportRack Roof Rack Does Not Fit Right on a 2013 Honda Civic Sedan
Usually when the clamps on a roof rack will not stay in place they are either in the wrong position or the installer is trying to tighten one side and then the other instead of alternating tightening a little on one side, then a little on the other, and back and forth like that until both sides are tight. I double checked with SportRack and # SR1010 is correct for a 4-door 2013 Honda Civic. But SportRack also shows # SR1002 as a fit for 2012 and 2013 Honda Civic sedans so it is possible...

  • Fit Measurement Recommendations for Sportrack SR1010 Roof Rack on a 2015 Ford Focus Hatchback
I spoke with my contact at SportRack and got the measurements that you will need. First on the front bar the side to side setting is 26. For the back bar it is 24. The front to back measurements for the front bar measured from the center of the B-pillar forward is 10 inches. And from the center of the front bar back for the placement of the rear bar is 24 inches.

  • SportRack SR1010 Fairing Recommendation
The best way to pick out a fairing is to measure the distance between the feet of the rack and then go with the fairing that closest matches that distance but not over it. The Sportrack roof rack part # SR1010 that you referenced is an adjustable roof rack so the distance between the feet will vary. So get that dimension. For a 44 inch long fairing we have the # RRRF3 or for a 40 inch fairing you'd want the part # INA261.
