Roadmaster Anti-Sway Bar Installed

Benefits of an Anti-Sway System

The Roadmaster anti-sway bar does for side-to-side movement what a good pair of shocks does for up-and-down motion. You will notice a marked improvement in your vehicle's stability as the bar works to balance weight transfer and reduce body roll. The anti-sway bar acts as a link between your vehicle's frame and its rear axle, using the axle as a brace to more effectively balance the shifting weight of your vehicle as you maneuver it. Lubricated bushings allow just enough pivot and rotation to compensate for the pressure placed on one side of your vehicle when it goes into sudden maneuvers, hits crosswinds or encounters shifting weights.

Roadmaster Anti-Sway Polyurethane Bushings

Superior Construction

The Roadmaster anti-sway bar is made of 4140 chromoly, a chromium and molybdenum steel alloy. This type of steel is considerably harder and stronger than the standard 1020 steel that is typically used in anti-sway applications. In addition, the larger diameter of the bar increases its torsional roll stiffness. The result is a bar that is not only stronger than the competition, but also nearly 30 percent better at resisting sway. The polyurethane bushings and grommets used at the attachment points are durable yet flexible, ensuring that the system is neither so rigid nor so malleable that it becomes ineffective.

  • Replacement End Links for Roadmaster Anti-Sway Bar on 2019 Ford E-350/450 Class C Motorhome
What vehicle are you needing this for? It looks like you have a 2019 Ford E-Series in our fitguide but if you could let me know if it's an E-350 or E-450 and whether you have a Class A motorhome, Class C motorhome, or an Emergency Vehicle I can see what else you might need.

  • Comparing Roadmaster and Hellwig Sway Bars for Motorhome Built on E-450 Chassis
Roadmasters priority when it comes to their sway bars is top notch quality and the easiest install for the customer. This typically cuts the install time down enough that you end up saving money if you pay to have the bars installed or decide to do it yourself. Hellwig bars will work great once installed but they aren't as easy to install and their hardware isn't quite as nice so over the long haul you pay less with the Roadmaster bars. The rear bar you'd need for your 2014 Motorhome...

  • Recommended Front Sway Bar for 2017 Ford E-450 Chassis
The correct front sway bar for your Forester RV built on the 2017 Ford E-450 chassis is the Roadmaster # RM-1139-176. This is an excellent, 1-3/8" diameter anti-sway bar that features a 4140 chromoly steel construction for superior strength and is designed to work in conjunction with the RV's existing suspension system to allow for a really smooth ride during travel. It will simply attach to the front axle and chassis and use the weight of the axle to brace the frame during shifts and...

If your 2008 Pleasure-Way Excel is built on the Ford E-350 van chassis then for a rear anti-sway bar you can use # RM-1139-117. If it is built on the E-450 van chassis use # RM-1139-147. For the front you can use # RM-1139-115 which will fit E-250 through E-450 chassis. I have included a link to our help article on heavy duty vehicle stability for you.

  • Best Suspension Enhancement & Steering Stabilizer For 2023 Jayco Greyhawk 27U
Hi Jeff, I can give you a hand here with suspension upgrades for your 2023 Jayco Greyhawk 27U, though honestly I'd go a different route than the Timbrens # TFEF350 and # TFERSD you mentioned. They'll do their job, but my goodness they can be quite rough on the ride. They are made from a very dense hollow rubber so there just isn't much "give" there and you'll feel it. The better option is definitely SumoSprings because they'll compress based on the weight being transferred so it isn't...

  • Does Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar For 2022 Thor Vegas 24.3 Require Drilling
The Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar # RM-1139-147 does indeed require drilling to install, though that is not the correct fit for your 2022 Thor Vegas 24.3. I verified directly with Roadmaster the correct fit for a rear anti-sway bar on your rig is the following: - Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar # RM83ZR The # RM83ZR also requires drilling, in this case a 17//32" hole in the frame rail to bolt on the endlink. That said, the front anti-sway bar does not require drilling to install, and the...

  • Recommended Anti-Sway Bars for 2018 Thor Axis Built on Ford E-450 Chassis
The best way to enhance the ride of your 2018 Thor Axis, which was built on a Ford E-450 chassis, is to add a rear anti-sway bar. After that you can further improve the ride by adding a front anti-sway bar; the combination of these two parts will dramatically increase the handling and comfort of your Thor Axis, allowing you to enjoy your time on the road instead of exhaustingly attempting to keep your rig centered at all times. The correct fit for your 2018 Thor Axis is the Roadmaster...

  • 2019 Entegra 29K Class C Motorhome Anti-Sway Bars
Aftermarket sway bars and stabilizers do make a difference in the handling of most motorhomes since they are usually far superior to the OEM-grade components. Class C coaches like your 2019 Entegra Odyssey which is built on a Ford E-450 chassis will drive better with aftermarket products that will tighten up the steering and reduce the sway from passing trucks and wind gusts. For your E-Series cutaway chassis I recommend the Roadmaster front anti-sway bar # RM-1139-176 and rear anti-sway...

For the front axle of your 2006 Ford Class C E-450 motorhome we have the SumoSprings kit part # SSF-106-40 as only option. This will give your RV an additional 500 lbs of suspension support. The different colors of kits mostly relates to different capacities and constructions but for front axles there aren't quite as many options since most of the time it's rear support that people are looking for.

  • Roadmaster Anti-Sway Bars For a 2024 Ford E-450 Cutaway Chassis Used on a RV Motorhome
We have the Front # RM-1139-176 and Rear # RM-1139-147 sway bars to fit the 2024 Ford E-450 chassis under your RV. These are much stronger than any that were installed from the factory and will greatly reduce body roll and sway. I do recommend installing the Roadmaster Exact Center Steering Stabilizer # RM47MR when you install these sway bars as it will greatly improve your steering feel.

  • How to Improve Control of a Forest River Forester 3011DS
The most worthwhile upgrade for your Forest River Forester 3011DS on a 2018 Ford E-450 chassis is an upgraded rear sway bar like the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar part # RM-1139-147. This is also typically the first thing you upgrade on a new motorhome. The reason for this is because when a large vehicle passes you or a gust of wind hits, the body will begin to rock side to side. This side to side motion causes counter steering which then makes you feel like you no longer have control...

If this is correct, I recommend the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar # RM-1139-147. This is confirmed to fit this chassis and it will do a great job of minimizing sway and driver fatigue by improving stability and drivability of the RV. It will mount to the rear axle and frame with the included hardware. For a front sway bar you can...

I recommend installing the SumoSprings # SSR-106-47-1 on the rear of your 2023 Ford E-450 Class C cutaway chassis.
