Nothing changes how your rig feels on the road like cutting out the body roll. The Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar uses a 1-1/2" diameter 4140 chromoly steel bar that ties the rear axle to the chassis, balancing weight transfer and reducing lean in turns. The thicker, stronger bar resists twist nearly 30 percent better than typical 1020 steel setups, keeping things level and steady even when carrying heavy loads or dealing with shifting cargo.
When gusts hit from the side or a semi blasts past, this setup keeps the rear from wagging. By minimizing side-to-side sway, it helps the vehicle track straight without constant steering correction. That means fewer white-knuckle moments and a calmer drive in wind, passing traffic, or uneven pavement. The result is a more stable, predictable ride that saves energy and lets you stay relaxed behind the wheel.
Instead of soft rubber, the system uses polyurethane bushings that handle oil, gas, and ozone without breaking down. They keep their shape longer, so you get firm support with just enough flex to stay smooth. Combined with the 4140 chromoly construction, it’s a setup made to handle years of highway miles without fading in performance.

You don’t need to cut or drill anything to get this mounted. The sway bar attaches directly to the rear axle and frame with heavy-gauge hardware and includes lubricant for the bushings. It’s designed to work alongside most popular suspension upgrades and leaves room for other add-ons, so you can fine-tune your setup without interference.

If you have Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs (F2400 - sold separately) on your vehicle, this anti-sway bar cannot be installed due to interference with the air bag brackets.

Hey there, heavy haulers. Today, we're going to take a look at the Roadmaster Rear Anti-sway Bar for Trucks. You can use our fit guide to find the right sway bar for your truck. This is what our sway bar looks like when it's installed. You can tell that it's significantly larger than our factory sway bar. This is what our old sway bar used to look like right here.
There's just really no comparison on how much thicker and stronger this sway bar is. This one here, I can't bend whatsoever. This guy, it was providing some support and I know I'm pushing it together, which really isn't how sway bars work. They work in a twisting motion, but this one is significantly smaller and is going to provide not nearly as much anti-sway as our stronger, larger bar here. The main purpose of upgrading to a larger sway bar like this is to help minimize sway. As you're going down the road and you make turns or evasive maneuvers, the body wants to roll.
As that rolls, it kind of throws you around in the cabin and makes it more difficult to maintain control of the vehicle. Also, when it sways, it shifts weight in a direction which could cause the vehicle to start to pull or slide in that direction. By minimizing the sway, it just helps stabilize the vehicle and provide you with more control and stability. Having a larger bar here is going to do just that for you. Also in this kit, you're going to receive new bushings, shackles, and hardware. So if you've got an old sway bar that's just got worn out bushings and you're looking to just repair it and you're wanting to upgrade it to have less sway, to be able to haul heavier items without feeling it throwing your truck around when you're going around those turns, this kit comes with all those components too.Let's go ahead and get a baseline measurement and we're going to hit the test course with our factory sway bar on there.
First, we're going to be in the bump section, which is going to simulate a pothole. The rear end does make quite a bit of noise and it doesn't feel that tight. There's a lot of back and forth rocking going on. Lastly, we're going to be going into our slalom section and this is going to simulate an evasive maneuver. On our slalom course, you can really feel how loose the truck is as we weave back and forth.
It's honestly a little scary to drive this, performing these big evasive maneuvers, so I can only imagine what it would be like if our truck bed was fully loaded. Now that we've got the new sway bar installed, I'm going to go ahead and take it out on the test course and we're going to see how it compared with our factory results. First, we're going to be in the bump section, and as we go over these bumps, we can definitely tell there is less rocking back and forth. It does seem to stiffen the vehicle up a little bit, so if you're concerned about having a smoother ride, this isn't really going to make it smoother, but this is really designed for those guys hauling heavy equipment so it's going to be more beneficial for them. Next we're going to be heading into our slalom section, and this is going to simulate an evasive maneuver. During this section, this is where I expect to see the biggest improvements as our sway bar is considerably larger than our old ones. So when we head up here, we're going to go ahead and start ripping her back and forth. Oh yeah, it definitely . wow, it really grips pretty good. It's actually pretty fun to drive. Considerable improvements over your factory components. In the end, upgrading your truck's rear anti-sway bar lets you execute turns and quick maneuvers with confidence, while reducing driver fatigue and minimizing the effort required to keep your vehicle in line due to crosswinds, passing motorists, and large shifting cargo. The 4140 chromiley 00:03:32 steel is going to be considerably harder and stronger than your factory installed sway bar. If you're concerned about up and down motion or your vehicle sagging down in the back, I suggest upgraded jounce bumpers or a set of airbags. That completes our look at the Roadmaster Rear Anti-sway Bar for Trucks.

Easy installation ,done by myself laying on my back in the driveway only took about 1 1/2 hours to do. I have a lift but didn't use it and I think it was easier on the ground for just one person. Sway bar made a big difference in the drivability of my 2003 E350 pleasure way class B
I'll upgrade the front factory bar to the HD Roadmaster bar soon
If you have issues with the handling of your Ford pleasure way start with this sway bar
After a year of usage, I couldn't be happier with the Roadmaster front and rear anti-sway bar kits. The rear kit for my W22 chassy, the mounting hardward would not fit properly. I call Roadmaster directly and they custom built the mounts, painted, and shipped within days.
Super quality product build. However it is made for ford transit dually. I have single rear tires. Worked with road master rep to select the correct sway bar for my van.. RM82EQ
I Installed the bar in my Ram promaster HR 2500 and it’s an incredible difference on twisty mountain roads. I highly recommend it.
After waiting 3 weeks the swaybar kit was drop-shipped from the factory. Received and discovered the bushing inserts were the wrong size (too small) for the bolts that were sent. Contacted Roadmaster support and provided them a photo and invoice as requested. The replacement inserts were approved and shipped out. I got metric bolts to go with the inserts I received. I will save the replacements for additional replacements.
The install was fairly straight forward.
Haven't had a chance to tow the 5th-wheel yet.
a quick fix it to install sway bars front and rear.
I did this and just came home from 2400 mile trip.
installed rear only before we left, then at our destination installed front.
the drive back it handles wayyy better and it sits level now.
""your results may very-use at your own risk. ""
from etrailer.com
rear = RoadMaster 1259-109.
front = RoadMaster RM-1259-105 with RM-590063-00 bracket kit.
i'm sure over time they will flex and stress and start to lien again.
But for now it looks much happier. ( and level )
and i'm very happier with performance and drivability
Seems the big bars help distribute the load to both sides,
you can drive it with one hand now.
and when a truck passes, it's very manageable.
( this could be part the tires on it )
these can be installed in about 6 hours pretty easy.
The hardest thing is drilling the 8 holes in frame. ( 4 front 4 rear. )
We had to shift 2 brake lines over via and small bracket and covers lines with old fuel like to act as wear buffer.
The anti sway bar is a big improvement when the truck bed camper is on. The installation took a bit longer than expected because the frame brackets don’t fit around an aftermarket B&W gooseneck hitch. I had to fabricate new top brackets and drill out the bottom brackets to widen the bolt pattern. Keep this in mind if you have a gooseneck hitch.
Received the product in a timely manner. The shipping company used I’d give a no star rating. I received the anti-sway bar bare out of a box or wrapper with the installation part box and a cut out piece of cardboard with the shipping label on it taped to the bare bar with about five yards of packing tape. The bar was scuffed, scratched and chipped with the RoadMaster label destroyed. I realize it’s going to be installed under the front of my motorhome but as much as it costed I would like to be the one to scratch and scuff it. If I was a company installing this on a customers vehicle I’d return it. I do not believe it was shipped from etrailer in this condition.
Great buying experience with ETrailer. Fast shipping and quality constructed part. Noticeable difference in controlling body sway. Very pleased with the bar and highly recommend Etrailer.
After about a year with both the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar and the TorkLift StableLoad Upper Overload Spring Upgrade on our truck camper setup, my experience has been mixed.
With the StableLoads, some of the mounting screws eventually fell out. I contacted etrailer expecting the issue to be handled under warranty, but instead of taking care of the replacement directly, I was referred to the manufacturer. Considering the age of the product and that it was purchased through etrailer, I was disappointed with how the warranty issue was handled.
As for the Roadmaster 1-1/2" rear anti-sway bar, it is a very solid and well-built product, but in our particular application I honestly haven't noticed a major difference in body roll while taking turns with the camper loaded. I have driven the truck both with and without it, and the improvement was much less noticeable than I expected.
Neither product is necessarily bad, but based on our experience, the improvement in handling hasn't been significant enough for me to strongly recommend them given the cost.
2025 Sprinter 2500 low roof WITH factory sway bar. Added this bar to control the terrible handling at the rear of these vans and it absolutely takes care of that. Be aware that you 100% need the retro-fit kit for this bar to be installed as the factory sway bar end links will NOT work. The retrofit kit that you need is the RM-590064-00.
RM-1109-121 Rear Sway bar for 85 Chevyvan G30 RV. Install was pretty straightforward. I would mount the brackets to the frame first and then the sway bar to the axle. It’s easier to drill the holes without the sway bar getting in the way.
Before I replaced the shocks and upgraded the from sway bar and added the rear sway bar my G30 Chevyvan Winnebago was a wallow wagon. It took 110% focus to drive. Now it drives like a regular vehicle. Smooth. No leaning over when cornering. It’s night and day.
Excellent high quality product made a big difference in handling with heavy Artic Fox camper
Give poor rating regarding installation instructions
This is a beast. Great value and a good upgrade!
Was fairly easy to install and it has helped with sway
Top quality. Should have came with larger washers for bushing brackets, as holes are oversized ( larger than stock sway bar bushing bracket holes).
I have a F350 dually with a 2300 pound slide in camper that rocked to the point it was scary to go around a turn. I just installed the rear sway bar and the difference is unbelievable. I have just ordered one for the front. Well worth the money.
Smartest move I made. I have a 2002 F350 dually with a Lance 975. The sway bar made a huge difference. Air bags helped but the sway bar made it much more stable.
Just finished installing a Roadmaster sway bar on my F350 Diesel dually. Truck spends most of its time working and hauling a 2 ton truck camper on its back. Did quite a bit of research before choosing the Roadmaster and haven't regretted my decision for a second. Truck had factory sway bars that never came close to the sway control that I am enjoying now.
I haven't drove it yet but it is much bigger than the factory bar, it has to be better.
The only thing I bought that actually w orked.
