Video Transcript for A Closer Look at the Jensen Pull Up Antenna

Today we're gonna take a look at the Jensen top mount AM FM pull up antenna. Now this is an AM FM stereo top mount antenna, it is collapsible, you can see if I pull this out here, it will pull out into five different sections. When it's fully pulled out, it's 39 inches long. Does have a 48 inch length of cable on it. When you do install this, it does have an adjustable 35 degree angle of installation. It does come with the mounting bracket and the mounting screws and the other nice feature on this is ...

let me go ahead and collapse this, when you collapse this all the way you can see that the rubber cap that sits right on the top here . let me zoom in a little bit . has a rubber cap on here and that will keep it from going all the way in. Actually that rubber cap is removable. You can just pull that right off.

And once you get that rubber cap off, you can actually push this antenna all the way down in there and then it's locked, nobody can actually get to it. And they include these two keys and basically if you put the key in there, all you have to do is apply a little pressure to the side and it will pull the antenna right out. So that key sorta unlocks it, then all you have to do if you want is put that rubber cap back on and that can keep it from going all the way in when you completely close it. But that should do it for the review on the Jensen top mount AM FM pull up antenna.

I purchased this antenna to install on my side - by - side ATV. I thought the increased length would improve my reception. It does, but not by much. I believe this is more an issue with the radio in my vehicle than this antenna.

Bought this for my PT Cruiser. Although not designed for that automobile I was able to modify the existing under fender mounting parts to do the installation. The completed installation looks as though it's factory made so I'm happy with the result.

After not being able to find the OE replacement antenna for my Volvo 240, I found this one on etrailer.com; The price was the best of any online store, the shipping was very reasonable it shipped and arrived within a week and was a perfect fit. Only thing left to say is "thanks, etrailer!"

Our camper has a fiberglass shell and so does not provide the necessary ground plane that metal body campers or cars provide. But the mount allowed me to jumper to the aluminum case of the eight-foot awning and make the antenna work. This was very much an experimental installation and the folks at etrailer were invaluable in helping to think this through.

  • How Do You Mount The Jensen Pull Up Antenna?
Hey Grant, The Jensen Pull Up Antenna, # AN110, doesn't actually mount through an exterior hole in your RV, it comes with a mounting bracket and self tapping screws that is mounted and then the antenna is hooked to. If you wanted to run the cable inside you would need to drill a 3/8" hole for the cable to run through. Otherwise the antenna uses a mounting bracket to mount. What kind of RV/trailer are you wanting to put this on?

  • What RV Antennas Have a Rubber Mast/Mount?
Hi Jim, From what you're describing it sounds like you want something with a rubber gasket for waterproofing like that they have on cars. We have two antennas with that option, but they are significantly shorter than the AN110 you were looking at. The AN110 installs using a bracket due to its height and retractability, which is why these other antennas are shorter due to how they mount and the fact that they're not retractable. I will list them out below for you to take a look at: -...

  • Is There Way to Create Remote AC Unit Thermostat for Advent
The actual thermostat is built into the AC unit and there isn't a way to have like a remote sensor so that you can get a different temp reading although I can see why that would nice.

  • What Size Hole Is Needed To Install The Jensen Pull Up Antenna # AN110
The Jensen Pull Up Antenna # AN110 isn't designed to be mounted through an exterior hole in your RV. It comes with a mounting bracket that you would screw onto the RV with some self-tapping screws and then hook the antenna to. If you're routing the coax cable inside then you would need to drill a 3/8" hole for the cable to pass through. If you drill this hole on the roof you'll want to cover the hole with some self-leveling sealant # 34427034145-1. If you drill the hole through the wall...
