Features to know about

Never Run Out of Fuel Unexpectedly: Built-In Gas Gauge

Running out of propane halfway through cooking dinner or during a chilly night in your RV can be frustrating. The Camco Propane Cylinder Gas Gauge and Leak Detector CAM59023 eliminates this worry by giving you a clear, direct indication of your propane level. With its easy-to-read gauge, you'll always know how much gas you have, so you can plan ahead and avoid those unwelcome surprises.

Enhanced Safety First: Built-in Leak Detector and Thermal Protection

Safety is paramount when dealing with propane tanks. This device isn’t just a gauge; it’s also a leak detector. It alerts you if there are any leaks in your system, preventing potentially dangerous situations. Plus, it includes thermal protection that offers peace of mind by automatically cutting off gas flow if temperatures get too high, reducing the risk of accidents.

Versatile Connection Options: Fits Most Standard Propane Tanks

Compatibility is often a concern when adding new components to your propane system. The Camco Gauge connects seamlessly to all propane tanks manufactured after 1995, designed to be versatile with both ACME nut and male P.O.L. connectors. Whether it's your grill, RV, or boat, this gauge integrates effortlessly, saving you time and stress.

Effortless Installation and Use: Compact and User-Friendly Design

No one wants to wrestle with a complicated setup, especially when it should be a simple upgrade to your existing system. Thankfully, this compact gauge is quick to install and easy to use, with the capability to fit in small spaces without hassle. Its straightforward design ensures you don’t waste time deciphering complex instructions – it’s an enhancement even the least technically inclined can handle.

Worry-Less, Travel More: Reliable Throughout Temperature Changes

When you're on the road or at your favorite camping spot, weather variations can affect propane readings. The Camco Gauge is crafted to maintain its reliability across a range of temperatures, ensuring you can trust its readings no matter the conditions outside. This dependability means more time enjoying your adventure, less worrying about fuel status.

A Must-Have for Double Tank Systems: Dual Usage Capability

If you have a dual tank system, you're probably familiar with the juggling act of keeping track of propane levels in each tank. By installing two Camco Gauges before the switch-over valve, you can effortlessly monitor both tanks independently. This makes managing propane levels straightforward and significantly reduces the guesswork involved in manual checks.

Video Transcript for Let’s Check Out the Camco Propane Cylinder Gas Gauge and Leak Detector

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Camco Propane Cylinder Gas Gauge and Leak Detector. This gas gauge shows you when you propane cylinder is low. It's going to indicate when you have leaks. It's going to fit all propane tanks manufactured after 1995 and it's going to use type 1 connections for gas grills, RVs and boats. This unit installs between the regulator and the propane tank it does not require any tools. Overall length, pretty compact design.

It's going to measure right around 4 inches long. When it comes to the connects on this side you're going to have the acme nut on one end, this connects to your propane tank. You're going to have your acme thread and female POL on the other end that connects to an acme nut or male POL connector on your regulator. This does provide thermal protection in case of fire and excess flow protection in case of a broken gas line. Now on the dial you're going to notice 3 different colors. You're going to have the green area which means that you have a good amount of propane in your cylinder.

You're going the have the yellow area, that means that you're approaching low levels, and you're going to have the red area. That means that your cylinder should probably be refilled. Now I also want you to keep in mind that air temperature can affect the rate of propane use, so you'll notice that this unit references cold, cool day, and hot day. So when checking the dial for the propane level be sure to read the colored area that corresponds to the air temperature that day in order to get the most accurate readings and information. Now to use this as a system to check for leaks, you want to make sure that your propane cylinder valve is closed and that the burner controls on the appliance are off. Then you can open the cylinder on the propane tank.

Excuse me, open the propane cylinder valve to pressurize all the lines that's connected to your appliance, and then after a few second close the cylinder valve. If you do have a leak you'll actually notice the needle on the unit moving to the red area of the dial. That's going to indicate that you do have a leak somewhere in the system and then you can check for leaks. The unit does come with detailed instillation instructions. It's also going to walk you through basically what I just explained on how to check for leaks and it's also going to show you how to locate a leak. That's going to do it for today's look at the Camco Propane Cylinder Gas Gauge and Leak Detector..

Everything I ordered fits and works great. The automatic switch over from one tank to the next on the regulator is perfect with no disruption in the gas line. Customer service was very helpful too when ordering the fittings.

by:

This product is working as advertised, indicating a full cylinder and detecting no leaks. Very pleased.

Well worth the very reasonable price.

by:

Great product, it takes the guess work out of the picture.

by:

Have a two 30lb propane tank system. Installed this on the secondary tank that I switch to once the primary runs low to better gage how much propane is left before filling is required. Gage sometimes "sticks" and needs a gentle tap but other than that it works as required. Very easy installation and fits into a fairly small area. Recommend measuring your area and reading the etrailer response on the overall gage length before ordering.

I have an RV with two 10 gal tanks. I work out of town and wife lives in RV full time, uses oven and Heater all the time. Easy for her to check the amount left in the tanks so will not run out while baking in the over. Nothing worse than having to change tanks and running the cake or dinner!! Great help for sure and makes my life easier with the the wife. Always great products from etrailer and customer service is awesome. I go to them first for everything. Easy to install and read. I leave in over 100 degree heat summer and gets to freezing temp. in the winter have for over a year and still works great. Thanks guys and gals

by:

As with everything I have ever ordered from etrailer.com this item arrived in a reasonable amount of time and has exceeded my expectations. I have a small travel trailer I use with my son for football weekends and etrailer.com is my go to for everything related to it.

by:

Thank you for the great service, and the products I ordered was just what I was looking for. Thanks again I put the tire cover on the spare and it look s great!, and I plan on getting the rest on my camper...when I do I'll sends pictures...
I'm one happy Customer, and when I need more accessories for my camper I will defiantly be ordering from etrailer.com
and I will tell my friends where they too can order camper accessories from.

by:

Easy to read. You need to take ambient temperature into account when viewing propane level, cuz when it's cold, you have a very different reading than when hot out. One of them is a bit sticky depending on the tightness of the connection, too tight and it won't read at all. Overall, a good product.

by:

So refreshing to do business with a company (etrailer.com) that is knowledgeable about their products and how they are used. They were so helpful in working with me to select the right products for my project. After receiving delivery I had a few questions about how to make the connections. I made a call to etrailer.com and again received excellent help. Vert satisfied with their service

by:

Quick and simple. It will be nice to see the status of my propane tank now.

It’s been over a year and working flawlessly. Great durability being out in the elements and working great.

by:

I don't trust the "green dot turns to red dot" system on the standard camper regulators. I prefer visual confirmation of my propane fuel level. This gauge fits the job and is priced right. Thanks etrailer!

by:

Figuring out how much propane I have left has been a big problem, so I invested in these gauges to help me keep on top of things. It was a little bit of a tight connection, but I managed to get them on and they seem to be functioning.

by:

Ten star rating. these people know what they are doing. purchased gauges and LP tank connectors.

by:

Great product and great customer service. Notified me that the shipment might be slightly delayed, but as I was not in a great hurry, elected to wait; it was not a long wait. Product arrived quickly after and I am pleased.

by:

Easy to install. No more running out of propane on the BBQ. And no more questing about which tank is in use on our 5th wheel camper.

by:

FAST SHIPPING, GREAT PRICES AND EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE, GREAT PRODUCT, NEVER RUN OUT OF PROPANE AGAIN!

by:

Everything I have ordered from etrailer arrives very quickly, works perfectly and has always been as advertised.

Attention to customer service gets high marks too.

by:

Great communications, well packed, and fast shipping.

by:

This maybe a good product not sure because it’s to long to fit on tanks with cover on so I don’t use it

  • Recommended Hoses and Regulator to Connect 100 Pound Cylinder to Main House Line
It sounds like you are needing a hose and regulator to go from your 100 pound cylinder to the house main line. If you have a DOT tank with a Type 1 fitting, you can use a hose like the MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail # 100833-15, which can connect to a regulator like # 108220. From there you can connect a hose assembly like the 4 foot # 100383-48-MBS if your main line uses a 1/2 inch flare fitting. You can also install the Camco Propane Cylinder Gas Gauge # CAM59023 to the tank before the...

Hello Al. I am sorry to hear that you got the JR Products Horizontal Low Pressure 2-Stage RV LP Gas Regulator # 37207-30385 installed and it hasn't fixed your issue. First I would check and make sure the regulator is installed correctly, you need to make sure the vent is facing down (I am attaching a picture so you can see the where the vent is on the bottom). If the regulator is installed correctly you are going to want to check your gas hoses for any leaks, you can do this by spraying...

  • Troubleshooting Propane Supply Problem with Horizontal Tank of 2008 NorthStar Pop Up Camper
It does sound like the pigtail is the issue. They often have a backflow preventer on them and it sounds like yours is malfunctioning. I recommend using the Propane Hose with Back Check - Type 1 x 1/4" Male NPT - 20" # 37207-30865. The tank orientation can absolutely be an issue as vertical tanks should never be used horizontally. There are horizontal tanks that should be utilized for your application. If you are using a vertical tank in a horizontal position this could be the issue...

  • Troubleshooting Low Propane Pressure to Grill
Propane cannot be over-regulated so assuming both regulators are rated the same the output will be the same. It sounds like you may have a leak that is causing you not to get the appropriate amount of pressure to your grill or potentially a faulty regulator. Sometimes propane hoses can get clogged as well but since you mentioned you have a new hose we can likely rule that out. What I recommend is using the Camco Propane Cylinder Gas Gauge and Leak Detector # CAM59023 which will tell you...

Hi, The gauge port thread pitch of the JR Products Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator # 37207-30365 is 1/8"-27 NPT.
