Troubleshooting Low Propane Pressure to Grill
Updated 01/29/2020 | Published 10/19/2018 >
Question:
I have a travel trailer with an outdoor stove. I’ve purchased a gas hose from my quick disconnect to my Coleman gas grill. I get gas to grill , but not enough to cook on. I’m tuning thru camper regulator then the grill regulator. This combination reduces gas flow to almost nothing. How can I get around this issue? Thanks

Propane cannot be over-regulated so assuming both regulators are rated the same the output will be the same. It sounds like you may have a leak that is causing you not to get the appropriate amount of pressure to your grill or potentially a faulty regulator. Sometimes propane hoses can get clogged as well but since you mentioned you have a new hose we can likely rule that out.
What I recommend is using the Camco Propane Cylinder Gas Gauge and Leak Detector # CAM59023 which will tell you if you have a leak that is causing the flow to be reduced.
I have added a link to a video review of this detector as well as links to a pair of help articles on propane which you may find useful.
