Parts Needed to Connect Two 40 lb Propane Tanks to Stove Top

Updated 04/27/2020 | Published 04/23/2020

Question:

My son bought a stove top 6 burners, 90,000 btu. He wants to use 2 40 lbs tanks. The stove top as of now is the only appliance that will be used. He have 3/4” flexible pipe and the stove have it’s own regulator. What does he needs to buy to get his appliance going? He would like to have a gauge to see when he is low on propane. Thank you for your help!

Since the stove top already has a regulator then all you really need is the MB Sturgis Sturgi-Stay T-Fitting w Hose # 103615 and 2 of the Camco Propane Cylinder Gas Gauge and Leak Detector # CAM59023 (1 for each tank).

The T-Fitting connects in-line with 1 tank and the the quick-disconnect has a shut-off valve so you can switch between tanks when needed. I've attached a photo showing the different connections. The Male Type 1 outlet is where the line for the stove top will connect.

Please note that all of this is typically used for an RV setup. If your son is setting stuff up for residential use (with a permanent pipe in place) then you'll want to check with any residential guidelines to make sure everything is met.
