Optronics ILL22 Series LED Dome Light Diagram

Sonically Sealed, Waterproof Trailer Light

The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the internal components.

Raw Lumens vs. Effective Lumens

Lumens are used to measure the amount of usable light that is put out by a light source. Raw lumens represent the number of lumens that the manufacturer claims the LEDs are capable of producing. It does not include the light's drive method or the amount of light lost from the lens or reflector. Effective lumens take these factors into account and represent the number of lumens that are actually produced by the complete light assembly, not just the amount of light that the diodes are capable of producing. This light has a 1,044 raw lumen capacity and produces 810 effective lumens.

These are performing great! No problems a year out!

These little lamps are terrific. Several, years ago I installed one in a new woodshed that didn’t have electricity. A small battery kept the light going all winter which helped in selecting wood for the stove.

This light will be installed in a boat under the deck.

by:

These lights are awesome, I installed three in a 22’ school band trailer, see the pictures. The kids could actually see in th trailer packing up after an away game.

Aloha! I am glad I found your product via internet search for lights. I
wanted to replace the battery powered interior light in my camper shell. I am tired of dead and leaking batteries which finally killed my light fixture. A little work to run a hot wire from the battery area along the frame into the truck bed, but worth it. I am using heavy duty Velcro loop portions to hold the wires to the camper shell liner: works very well. The light is very bright and really lights up the bed as well as the rear of the truck. I will definitely enjoy it.

I am using it as the interior light of my camper shell. It works great forthat, very bright and wide dispersal of light. I was happy to find such alight even it was meant for another use. Very nice equipment at a goodprice.

We installed about 12 of these in our remote rustic off grid backwoods cabin. They work great and only use a small amount of 12v power, .7 amps I think. They are very bright and have a built in switch. We use them inside and on our covered porch. They seem to be very well made. The light is very bright, but not blue-white like some LEDs. I highly recommend them and etrailer. In the cabin photo, there are 6 lights on, two on the porch and 4 inside the cabin.

Hi, I purchased 5 of your wonderful LED lights: 1LL22CB and LOVE LOVE LOVE them. I took some photos. If you like, you are welcome to put on your website for this light. These were all taken in the complete dark. No other lights around. When I was contemplating buying them, I wondered what they would look like on the outside of the trailer. WOW, they give off so much light. we also put one in our small tack room and it's wonderful. Just thought I'd send them for you to see or use. May God continue to bless your company. Your staff is really nice too. I've spoken with two different people and both were very pleasant and professional. I will be sending people your way!

by:

Very bright and easy installation. Highly recommended.

by:

Have four of them in my camper-van and love them!! Of note: When mounting them, position them so that they are either above your head or behind you so they do not shine directly in your eyes for the most effective experience, as they are very bright. Quality, bright product at a reasonable price.

Excellent product!!! Have several of them. They are very bright dont take up much space are well constructed, and have not failed. Strongly recommend.

by:

Excellent little lamp for lighting the dark interior of a woodshed that I recently built. I did not want to run 110 volts out to this shed and hunted for an LED unit that I could power with an extra 12 volt battery. This fills the bill much better than expected. I am delighted with this product and have ordered an additional one for another project.

by:

Installed the 810 lumens light in the hatch area of my Subaru SUV. Really lights up the area when the hatch is opened

by:

These lights are awesome! I've probably bought over two dozen of these lights so far but just now writing a review. These pack a lot of light for such a small and lite weight unit. I recently put 8 in my 18' enclosed trailer and probably could have used half as many but I wanted to super brite in there.

by:

These lights have been mounted under the hood for a year and they function perfectly. They are subjected to a lot of heat, so I know they hold up well under normal operating conditions.

by:

I was looking for a battery operated light to install in a woodshed that I recently built. I wasn’t satisfied with any of the products seen on the common websites and I thought of etrailer.com where I have had really good experiences with other items.

I checked on their RV offering and quickly found this lamp. It was received quickly and appears to be of outstanding manufacturing quality. I installed this lamp over the weekend and powered it with a small motorcycle style 12 volt battery.

I am exceptionally pleased with the result in my woodshed. The light is bright and of the “cool” variety which is exactly what I wanted. I was so pleased that I have purchased a second lamp and will likely purchase more in the Spring when sailing season resumes.

Terrific! It lights up my woodshed and uses almost no electricity to do it. I bought another unit for another task.

by:

Product was as described. Easy to purchase, fast delivery and easy install. Always love etrailer's product review videos. I just installed disc brakes on my 5th wheel and wanted light where the pump is to check fluid levels in the actuator. Light is super bright. Worth the purchase

Still working great. Easy to install and bright lighting. I actually have 2 lights. The switch on it makes it easy to access. Worth the purchase.

by:

I'm very happy with these lights (ILL22CB). We bought several of them to light the inside of our backwoods cabin. These2-wire 12 volt lights are very bright; just what we wanted. I would guess they provide about the same light as a "normal" 60 watt bulb. The light is very white; I guess it would be called "cool white". These would work very well to light the inside of a trailer. They seem to be very well made. Note that you do need to wire them correctly with the white wire to ground/negative and the black wire to positive; they will not light if the polarity is reversed. The etrailer video was very helpful.

A year later and all our lights are still working great. I think we have about 8 of them in our cabin. The work great in our backyard woods 12v cabin and Im sure they would work great in a cargo trailer.

by:

I put these lights in a trailer I was rewiring. One in the tack compartment. One on outside above tack compartment and two in horse compartment. I checked them and in less than 6 months none of them worked. I know that they were wired correctly because they worked when first installed.

Its pretty rare although not completely unheard of for three lamps to fail at the same time. Id recommend using a circuit tester or multi-meter on the circuit feeding the lamps to ensure they are getting power. Id suspect a bad fuse or breaker is probably causing the issue.

by:

I installed the lights in me 28 ft race car trailer and the amount of light each if the four produce is well suffucent to ellinate and dark spots in the trailer !! Well pleased !!

Great Lights for a horse trailer

by:

We needed something that could light the interior of the concession trailer while the generator was not running. So we installed this light inside to run off the trailer lights hook up. Provides plenty of light for clean up. Perfect fit for my application. Easy install.

by:

Great experience dealing withe trailer. Reasonable prices and greT shipping. The lights were exceptional and provide far more light than I thought they would. Can't wait to do business with these folks again.

Still very happy with lights. Will probably be ordering more soon

by:

Awesome light. I mounted this in the canopy covering the truck bed of my Ford Ranger. Mounting was super easy, just drilled mounting holes into the aluminum canopy frame and screwed down tight. The little light is incredibly bright...lights up the entire bed space.

by:

I installed 6 of these LED lights, replacing some old lights in my enclosed trailer. The mounting holes were exactly the same as the lights I removed and made the installation very fast. The lights are very bright and the illumination is a HUGE improvement over the old bulb style lights that were removed. The quality of the lights appear to be very good. The electronics are completely sealed to protect from moisture and every light works perfectly. I hope the durability of the LED's is a good as the illumination they provide! I am very happy with this product.

by:

My family has a rustic retreat campsite through the woods from my patents home up north. We used to just use propane mantle lights. But with today's 12v LED's they are amazing! I bought 7 of these little guys and they are incredibly bright. We lit up our home away from home with these and wired them to a large deep cycle marine battery. Very easy. We love that even though we have a regular light switch on the wall, each of them can selectively be turned on/off with their own switch to dim areas if desired.

  • Which Optronics Utility Light is Brighter Between the # ILL24CB and the # ILL22CB
The Optronics # ILL24CB is going to be brighter than the Optronics # ILL22CB. In the videos and photos they are of the lights installed on different trailers and mounting locations so yes, it is very hard to tell. The Opti-Brite LED RV Dome Light part # ILL22CB is a surface mount light therefore designed to be attached directly to the mating surface with the wires run out the back. The Opti-Brite LED RV Dome Light w/ Switch # ILL22CB only draws .7 of an amp when active so basically even the thinnest wire you'd find to use with this would easily be enough. This is due to fact LED lights draw such a small amount compared to standard bulbs. So realistically you could go super thing but super thin wire is harder to deal with so I'd go with 16 gauge as it's thick enough to be easy to work with but not overkill. We sell 16 gauge wire by the foot with part number 16-1-1.
