Need extra light on your kitchen counter for when you need to prep meals for the family? Or perhaps you need a light in the hallway so you can see where you're going when walking to the bathroom in the middle of the night? This puck light includes 1 halogen bulb that gives you a softer, accented light underneath a kitchen cabinet, in a closet, over a reading nook or chair, or in a walkway inside your RV or camper.
This puck light is incredibly easy to install as an upgrade or a direct replacement of your existing light. Because it has a low-profile, recessed design, you will need to cut out a 2-1/2" diameter hole if you're not directly replacing a light. The light has a 2-wire design that hooks up to ground (white wire) and power (black wire).
There are multiple ways you can secure this light into the ceiling or wall. You can snap the lens off to access the bolt holes and use the included screws to bolt it on. You can also use the built-in, integrated spring clips that will catch onto the inside of the wall or ceiling when inserted through the hole. Or, if you want to ensure the light is extra secure, you can use both the screws and clips.

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Gustafson Recessed Halogen Puck Light. It uses a JC10 12-volt, 10 watt halogen bulb. It's got a 2-wire design, which is going to provide your power wire and ground wire. This does require a 2 1/2 inch-diameter hole at the desired mounting position because it is a recessed mount installation. It does come with spring clips, right here. The spring clips can be used for the installation.
For a no-drill installation, it does come with three screws. It does come with mounting hardware if you would rather screw the light into place. Really you can use one or the other, or you can use both. Whatever works best for your application. Versatile mounting options for an easy install.
To gain access to the mount holes if you do want to use the screws, you just need to remove the lens. You can do that by placing a flat edge directly under here, prying off one side and then the lens will come directly off of the housing. This is a frosted glass lens. You will notice that it does have three mount holes on the unit. Those are going to be separated apart from one another on center by 2 5/8 of an inch. The actual diameter here at the lens, that's going to give us a measurement edge-to-edge pretty close to 3 1/2 inches.
The depth of the recessed area, that's going to be about an inch and a quarter. We're going to go ahead and hook it up to our power source, that way you can see what it looks like with some power running to it. Now, when it comes to your power and ground wire, it does matter which one you use for which function. We're going to get this hooked up. You can see here that it sends out a nice consistent signal.
It's got a nice, soft, relaxed or warm glow to it. Again, it's a recessed puck light. It's going to offer a really nice look. Just overall really nice design. Very warm and inviting puck light. That's going to do it for today's look at the Gustafson Recessed Halogen Puck Light.

So much for return policy. So I put it up since my other light was burnt out. Light is okay but not as bright as my LEDs but that is what to expect from a halogen Would not recommend using this item. It's only in the bathroom so it will work until I find a suitable replacement.
I have purchased several of them and replaced 1 , but I have the others for when I need them!

Normally I don't respond to these requests however this one deserves one. This was my second order for these G4 type 12 volts. The first order was two plus months in getting to me. Normally I would write this company off BUT...I held on due primarily to the constant followup of the staff. Nothing but first class on that note. The original order was received and installed in my diesel pusher with fine results. I ordered 10 more of these pucks that came VERY fast to my door. I couldn't beat the price for these lights as they are a G4 halogen I've changed over to LED's which are dimmable and work perfectly. Kudos to Ahren.
