Today we're going to take a look at the titan five position adjustable channel drum brake actuator with the three inch lunette ring. And it has a 20,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now this hydraulic actuator will activate your trailer brakes when your tow vehicle slows or stops. Basically, what happens is when you apply the brakes in your tow vehicle, the deceleration occurs and the momentum will push this trailer toward the rear of your vehicle, and with surge brake systems, this actuator is triggered as your trailer moves forward once your tow vehicle starts to slow down, and when this happens, the actuator will contract, which applies force to the master cylinder in here, and then this in turn supplies the necessary hydraulic pressure to engage your trailer's brakes. This one uses a unique roller design, reduces the resistance during the telescoping to create straight line movement.You notice right up here, there's two rollers two down here. And if you notice on each end they have the three circ fittings that allow you to lubricate them real easily just by sticking on your grease gun and pumping grease in there.

Now, this is a sturdy durable steel construction. It'll resist bending in any jackknife situations. And I wanted to mention up front here, you can see it has the offset adjustable channel, has five different mounting positions for your coupler, or in this case the lunette ring, basically, one, two, three, four, and five. You can put the coupler or other lunette ring in. And if you notice this has a built-in drop, which is great for tall trailers and that's because of the adjustable channel, you can see his position so that the mounted coupler will sit below the actuator tube, allowing for a greater drop than a standard center mounted channel.So as a result, you can line up your tall trailer with the tow vehicles hitch for a nice level set up.

Couple of measurements on the channel itself. The adjustable channel, the height of the whole channel from the bottom to the top is right at 12 inches. The distance between the mounting holes center to center is two inches, and the inside width, we spin this around and we put the inside width you can see on that is going to be right at three inches. This does have a nice corrosion resistant zinc plated finish. The breakaway kit you can see is included and the breakaway kit is required.

Basically, what that does is this chain will hook to your tow vehicle and what happens in a runaway situation where the trailer might come detached from your tow vehicle, the chain will pull this lever which will also activate the master cylinder and apply the brakes in a runaway situation.It is a bolt on installation. The application again is for trailers with hydraulic drum brakes. Gross towing weight capacity is 20,000 pounds. Maximum tongue weight is 2000 pounds. Mounting design, it is designed to mount on a three inch wide trailer tongue.

And one note on this is because this actuator does not include a reverse lockout here in the back. It is recommended that you equip your trailer with free backing brakes so that you can drive in reverse without this actuator triggering your trailer brakes.
