Today, we're going to review part number UF48-979010. This is the Ultra Fab Universal Access Door for trailers and RVs. This locking steel access door is perfect for any small cargo area on your trailer or RV that needs to be both secure and easy to get to. Its access door is mount to your trailer or RV anywhere a door is needed. It's perfect for small cargo holes. It is made of a steel construction which is strong and durable.
It has a very bright chrome finish to add touch of class to your trailer or RV. There is an integrated lock which will provide security. Once that is turned, a quarter of a turn, it will stay locked. It does come with two keys. Once you put the key in, turn it a quarter of a turn.
It will open the door up. As you can see, the way the lock operates. It just goes behind there. Take the key out and it would be locked. To install this, it's a pretty simple installation.
The mounting holes are predrilled. There are eight mounting holes already predrilled. I'll give you a few dimensions on this. It's 8 inches wide by 7-1/4 inches tall and the dimension of the opening, let's unlock it, would be 5 inches by 5 inches. This part does come with a one year warranty.
It is designed to be used on RVs, trucks, cargo haulers, trailers, especially vehicles of all types. That should do it for a review on part number UF48-979010.

Instead of pulling the truck up each time to check how much sawdust was in the closed trailer, we just open the peep door. It works great, with easy installation.
Great product. Worked just as well as we expected. Using it as access door for a portable a.c. in our camper van to vent. We placed product, made a hole for vent to slide thru. Then on inside van hook vent for exhaust. Alot better than venting out window an covering opening with tape etc. When not using we remove vent and lock door back. Did put insulation around it to prevent leaks during rain. It works great!
Exactly what I needed. I cut a hole in my garage door so I can reach through and unlock the lock. Just learned the hard way when the power went out that I needed a plan B.
We replaced the plastic fuel door on our Class A with this chrome version. What a huge difference - it looks great and is much better quality than expected! Hubby needed to modify / cut a corner of the door so that it would fit around the wheel well section, which made the quality of the product even more appreciated. We feel more comfortable with a lockable door on the tank and its shiny finish reflects like a mirror.
Measurements are true to description and so is the product! I love it. Hard to find elsewhere. Price is very reasonable. I just got an old pickup and the fuel door was missing and this fit perfectly. In fact, I’m going to order another one to replace the worn out one on the other side that isn’t chrome!
Easy to install great lustrous Chrome shine really made a difference on my project. I put them on my utility truck to cover my gas caps to keep people from vandalizing my truck when I wasn't around it worked out wonderful.

Great item at a great price. I needed a couple of replacement doors for my '72 F100. It has aftermarket saddle tanks with these access doors. One of them was torn off many years ago and the other one looked shabby. These doors were NOT easy to find and I thought I was going to have to fabricate them. Luckily, I found etrailer. George J. handled my order promptly, and these doors are a perfect fit. The chrome finish is a very nice touch. They knock the socks off of the old aluminum ones and look way nicer in person than the stock photo. Also, made of well built materials. I have my 66 f-250 at body shop for restoration and they lost access door to gas filler. Finally found a replacement at etrailer.com. Looks great and fits perfectly to pre drilled holes in truck body. Price was good & shipping was fast and very reasonable. Would definitely buy from again. will send pic when I get truck back.

Very happy with my purchase, looks great.
Received this product in a timely C-19 timeframe from this trusted vendor. I have purchased a number of items from trailer & have never been dissatisfied. The door is of good quality & exactly what I wanted to replace an old rusting access door for my trailer. I would have given 5 stars for it if it had a chromed, or stainless hinge to match the rest of the unit...
Only issue I have with these doors is that you can't get more than one locking door with the SAME KEY. So, it's Door #1, Door #2, or Door #3.
I installed two of these for access to black and gray water drain valves. It sure beat crawling under the skirting to open or close those valves.
Excellent product at great price! Used on 1972 Chevy pickup with fuel tanks (one on each side). The pickup had two covers that had probably been there since new. No keys came with the truck. I ordered 2 of the chrome fuel door covers and the size was exact and the screw holes even lined up. Two keys come with each cover. I wasn’t thinking and should have checked to see if I could have got keyed alike lock mechanisms. Looks good and great improvement over old battered ones. Real happy!

Gas cap cover looks like it did when it was first installed...perfect! I highly recommend this product.
Received item quickly, excellent product came with two keys. Did have some tiny scratches on mirror finish but I don't mind due to what I'm using it for,access panel to wood truck bed gas cap reasonable price compared to other places. I'm very satisfied with purchase and definitely would use etrailer again. Thanks
Strong metal door and frame, nice chrome finish but the hinge is worthless. Nothing to keep this door locked. The hinge is so poorly attached and the tiny, inadequate hinge pin is exposed to the outside.
I could not recommend this. I consider this product to be defective.
This cover arrived in pristine condition and would have been a great addition to my coach. However, the installation of the cover required modification to my gas inlet that I wasn't willing to do. No fault of etrailer, but they graciously allowed me to return the cover. Will always to to etrailer first for my RV needs.
The access door is just what I needed. I was delivered quickly and arrived in good condition. I used it to creat an access port in my enclosed cargo trailer. I looks good.

Door was slightly misaligned with frame. Decided to use anyway rather than return. I would say that the overall quality for this part is 7 out of 10. Besides the misalignment, it looks to be very easy to break into with just a screwdriver. I do think it will act as a deterrent however. Chrome finish is good. Packaging was good.

After a year, these doors still look and work like new. Sturdy construction and the locking mechanism lead me to believe that these doors will last the life of the truck. Highly recommended.
