Light changes how your Sprinter feels inside. Without it, the middle side panel section stays dark and harder to use. This fixed side panel window replaces that solid section with glass, so you get more daylight and a clear view outside.
This window replaces the solid metal panel in the middle position on the passenger side of your 2007-2009 Dodge Sprinter, 2007-2021 Freightliner Sprinter, or 2010-2026 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter with a 170-inch wheelbase. Instead of a blank section along the center of the cargo area, you gain a fixed glass panel that adds visibility and natural light without introducing vents or moving parts. That section stays sealed while opening up the side of the van.
When you drive over bumps or uneven pavement, the body of the van moves slightly. The glass in this panel moves with the surrounding metal, which helps reduce stress at the edges and lowers the chance of cracking. To handle that movement, this window uses tempered safety glass that meets DOT and SAE standards for road use.
The middle side panel window sits at eye level from outside and creates a direct sightline into the cargo space. The 17% gray tint limits how much someone can see inside while still allowing visibility out. It also blocks 83% of UV rays, reducing sun exposure through that section of glass.
Cutting into the middle side panel is permanent. The glass has to match the factory contour so the urethane seals evenly against the body. This window follows the original stamping profile, so when it is set into place, the edge matches the panel you just opened up.
After the opening is cut, a continuous bead of automotive urethane (VW84ZR - sold separately) is applied around the perimeter. When the glass is set into place, that urethane bonds it to the body panel and forms the seal that keeps water from entering the wall cavity. This bond secures the glass and creates the weather barrier so you can bring in light without adding a vented opening.

Hi everyone. Steve here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at our Van Windows Direct fixed middle side piano window for the passenger side of a Dodge Sprinter, Freightliner Sprinter, and Mercedes Benz Sprinter, all with the 170 inch wheel base. It's an 0709 Dodge Sprinter, 07 to 2021 Freightliner Sprinter, and a 2010 to current year Mercedes Benz sprinter. As always, check the fit guide, make sure you're getting the right parts the first time for your specific vehicle. Now, if you're converting your sprint into a camper, maybe a mobile workspace, adventure van, those solid metal panels can leave a big portion of the interior feeling closed off, dark, dingy, and even hot.
So this window is gonna replace that metal panel with glass. It's going to let in the daylight. It's going to let heat in, potentially, and it's also going to give you that clear view outside. Now when I say let heat in, it's not really going to let a whole lot of heat in. It's going to block 83% of the UV rays.
It is a 70% tent, privacy tent. It's a tempered safety glass that meets all SAE and DOT regulations, and it fits the contier of that van specifically for an OE fit. Now once you've got the opening cut, you're going to need to install it with some automotive grade urethane that is sold separately. This is considered a large window, so you'd want to use the double tube or the large window kit. And if you don't already have it, caught gun, primer, tape, those kind of things, we got you covered.
They are sold separately. As you can see, I got this turn here. Again, it does kind of have a curve in it, fitting the contour of the van. You can see through it from the inside looking out. It looks like basically like you're looking through a pair of shades or something like that.
Whereas from the outside looking in, yeah, you can see a little bit, but it does a great job of reflecting the lights and all that stuff out. Now folks, if you don't want to tackle the installer yourself, no problems. You can always use our install locator link below the product page. Click on that link based on your zip code. We can now pair you up with location installation areas in your area that we are affiliated with here at etrailer. So folks, again, this is a great option. If you're converting that sprinter into a camper, a mobile workspace, those kind of things, this again is the passenger side middle panel. I'm Steve with the etrailer. Thanks for watching, have a great day.
