Hey everybody, Jared at etrailer.com. Today I want to take a quick look at the replacement Acu Tight cradle by Thule. Now this replaces one Acu Tight cradle for your Thule roof mounted cargo box, and they are a direct replacement from Thule, meaning that this item will work with the original Thule product. Now Thule is a quality brand known for excellent products. And we carry many of the products here at etrailer.com. All right, well that was a quick look at the replacement Acu Tight cradle by Thule.

part was 3-4 times more than discontinued OEM version. And it did not come with mounting screws.

It’s still working just fine.
Slightly smaller than the original track that came on my carrier but they still work great, got them installed very easily.
Awesome that etrailer makes this replacement available to use when the original Thule plastic breaks. This is my 2nd time and I purchased the full set in anticipation of the rest of the original cradles breaking. Fast service and shipping. Would be 5 stars except expensive for a piece of plastic.

Just what was needed! It was exact repl acement
Height and shape isn’t consistent wtb Thule original part. Off by 1/4”…had to order additional rubber strip to correct difference.
Needed this quickly after it broke while on vacation. Was able to order and get it quickly. Part was an exact fit for my Thule and easy to install.
Product fits exactly and works as necessary. The curve is slightly less so it could technically slide easier especially on narrow crossbars. While I doubt this would be a problem, I will attach a picture...the original is on the right.
I ordered a replacement part for a Thule cargo box, and was very pleased with the entire experience with etrailer! I found them via an online search as one of the few places carrying the part. Confirmed that it was the right part via their website. Ordering the part was easy. They have excellent email communication to alert me when the part was shipped and received. Shipping was great (even during pandemic). The whole process was seamless. I am a happy customer!
No comments on the part itself, but I'm sure it will be fine. No issues with eTrailer as they always provide fast shipping. One note of caution that wasn't completely obvious to me - if you have an older Ascent box, the screws that hold in the original cradle do not have a built in washer and the hole in the replacement cradles is larger in diameter, so either order new screws or buy some washers. I was under the impression the old screws would work and since I still had them, I didn't order new ones. In my opinion, these shouldn't be sold separately. See my picture with the old screw resting on top of the new cradle for a sense of what I mean.

Couldn’t deliver a .5 pound package in less than a week when the delivery date was stated to be in time. Now I don’t have the piece I need for the trip I’m going on. Stick to Amazon not these local yocals.
First time ordering from this company and I am thoroughly impressed with their selection of parts, ease of ordering, pricing, and quick shipping. Instead of being forced to buy the whole grip assembly for my cargo carrier, I was able to purchase only the part needed for the assembly. It came sealed in a plastic bag and of excellent quality. Will purchase from them again should I need anything else.

I'm not yet sure how these will work. While the appear to be exactly the same as the originals that came with my Thule box when looking at them from the top, when you look at them from the side they are not. (See pictures.Original cradle is on the right in the side-by-side picture, and on the bottom in the stacked, side-view picture.) The new cradle may still work, and it would clearly better than trying to use the box without anything at all. I am going to give it a go and will report back if it breaks quickly.

This part worked fine. Unfortunately both locks have broken and I can no longer use this. Any recommendations?

I am glad the cradle has been working. For the lock do you know what number lock cylinder or key you had? We should be able to get replacement locks for your carrier as well. Let me know some more information about your carrier model and locks and I can see what we have for you.

Perfect, no problems
I ordered the cradles to replace the older original cradles that are larger and longer. Mine kept popping off and based upon the other reviews, they appeared to be the correct replacement. (Picture 1) The older cradle is on the left and the new replacement on the right. The newer cradles are slimmer and smaller - but fit just fine. Only extra thing I did was to add a washer (2nd picture) to help keep the screw in place and prevent the cradle from popping off like the old ones used to.
A part broke on my Thule cargo box. Thule doesn’t make the part anymore. I was able to easily find the replacement part I needed on etrailer.com. It was affordable and arrived in a few days. Could not have been easier!
