Hi everyone. Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at a simple replacement cap nut. It's a zinc finish, and it's a half inch roller shaft that it fits. That's right folks. So these pound nuts, or caps as they're called sometimes, are very, very simple to install.

They just kind of press over the top of that half inch roller shaft. You're gonna get quantity one, one with purchase. If you need more than one, I recommend maybe getting a set of eight, and that's a different item number. I'll put that on the screen for you. Save a little bit of money, get a couple more just to have extras.

It's always nice to be able to help out some people on the boat docks, and the ramps, and whatnot if you're able to as well. So, you might keep some in your toolbox for the what-if factor. But again, quantity one today is what we're looking at. This has been the replacement cap nut in zinc for the half inch diameter roller shaft. I'm Steven.

Only average performance. Reason: Your company boasts a price guarantee. In my view, it's all for show! You don't tell people upfront they must factor in shipping cost. Yet, I purchased 2 different items and one was more expensive on your site vs. a competitor site. In addition, when I asked for the price match at time of order, I was told I had to wait until my product was shipped and received at my home. In a word, silly! Stop making your customer jump through hoops! If you're serious about your price match guarantee, then, perform at time of order. In my case, I was asking for $0.78. Yes, small, but your company is wiling to irritate me for such a small amount. If your prices are competitive, then, processing the price match at time of order will not pose a material impact to your bottom line!!

The product is fine. I suspect trailer remains entrenched in their unwillingness to price match strictly on the price of the item.

    Hey Peter, generally the pal nuts on the end of the roller shafts hold the shaft tight enough that they don't just pop off unless something possibly hit it and damaged it. Vibration is not known to allow them to pop off so I would assume this is more of a fluke situation than anything else. For replacement pal nuts we have the part # CE10800 for a 1/2 inch diameter shaft or the part # CE10801 for 5/8 inch diameter.

    It appears you have the Yates Side Guide Roller # YR9202-4 with the Yates Endcap # YR220-4. The endcap is held in place on the 1/2" Shaft # CE10705A by a Cap Nut # CE10800. These are a press fit on the shaft and can take a bit to get the cap nut off. As you mentioned the top portion is just falling apart as you touch it it would be easiest to just cut it off to gain access to the cap nut which you can then use a 1/2 open end wrench to get under the cap nut and pry/hammer off the nut.

    It sounds like you had a pal nut like # CE10801 come off. Have a helper get a piece of lumber like a piece of 2x4 and hold the end of it up against the pal nut on the other side of the roller. That will give you something to hit against when you install the nut on the other side of the roller shaft. If you're missing the pal nut, we offer them for 5/8 inch roller shafts as the part # CE10801 you'd looked at or for a 1/2 inch, use # CE10800.
