Question:
I launched my boat the other day and noticed one of the cap nuts fell off. I managed to get the boat back on the trailer, and back in the garage, but that cap nut is missing. How can I install a new cap nut? Hitting it with a hammer will just cause the shaft to shoot out the opposite side. Any clues? Thank you

It sounds like you had a pal nut like # CE10801 come off. Have a helper get a piece of lumber like a piece of 2x4 and hold the end of it up against the pal nut on the other side of the roller. That will give you something to hit against when you install the nut on the other side of the roller shaft.
If you're missing the pal nut, we offer them for 5/8 inch roller shafts as the part # CE10801 you'd looked at or for a 1/2 inch, use # CE10800.
