Pal Nut Removal Instructions

Question:
Is there a special tool to remove pal nuts? I currently have these on my trailer and cannot get them off to to replace them and a new roller....,Thanks, Jeff

The cap and roller are held onto the shaft by a pal nut. The best way to remove the pal nut is to grab it with a pair of pliers and rock it back and forth until the pal nut deforms enough to pull off the end of the shaft. A pal nut is a one-time use product.
Replacement 1/2 inch pal nuts are available as part # CE10800.

Well, tried vise-grips locked on caps at both ends, they simply slipped. Next, clamped assembly to work bench, drilled hole and used punch; no joy. Lastly; angle grinder. Bingo! :)
