This will replace your broken or worn out Dometic RV furnace. This doesn't include a backing plate or access door needed for a new installation. With 40,000 Btu of heat, we recommend this for RVs about 40' long.

Bigger isn't always better. Getting a furnace that's bigger than you need can cause problems. A major one is that it will burn even more propane than you need.
You really only need about 1,000 Btus for every foot of RV length. For example, a 20,000 Btu furnace would be good for a 20' trailer or motorhome. That's why we'd recommend this one for a 40' trailer.

(alarm sounding) Hello, neighbor, Steve here with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at our Dometic RV furnace running on LP gas with an automatic pilot, 12 volts of DC current for that pilot light. This whole unit's rated at 40,000 BTUs and it's what we call a Doorless model or it doesn't come with an access door. Now, some quick dimensions on this guy, it is 16 and a half inches wide, nine inches tall overall, and it's about 20 inches deep or long depending on how you wanna word it. Now, this is gonna be great to quickly and efficiently heat up the interior of your RV or camper. It can replace, upgrade again or just add a furnace as needed and it is a propane-powered unit.
The propane connection's (object knocking) underneath this rubber tab here for shipping, and it is gonna be great for like boondocking because you won't have to worry about shore power. You just simply need 12 volts of power for the automatic DSI gas pilot ignition that's in there in the back. Now, that is also going to help reduce the risk of gas leaks. It's gonna increase your fuel efficiency and it relights automatically until the heater is switched off. The blower is a low-air turbulence and it's gonna provide quiet operation.
And as you can see, again, it's a doorless compact unit. It does have this little heat shield, (shield scraping) if you will, that goes on the outside of your camper, RV, fifth wheel, whatnot. And you would wanna put some butyl tape behind this point whenever you're putting it on the outside of your camper or RV or whatever. Now, that being said, if you want to purchase a door sold separately, you could do that, and it also would require the use of a thermostat to control the furnace, itself. Those thermostats that we offer in black and white are what we call mechanical thermostats.
So, they're not gonna be digital or anything like that, so just keep that in mind. You get the four wires here, two blue for the thermostat, red and black for power and ground. And on the front panel down here, there's a control panel module board. That has an LED light that can flash if it has faults, and it would give you a diagnostic code, like a certain flash sequence. And that will tell you in the instructions what to do if you get a certain sequence, whether it's, I'm outta gas or I'm not getting 12 volts of power, I'm not grounded, something of that nature.
Now again, it is ETL-certified. (object knocking) It can be mounted like it is now horizontally, or you can flip it and mount it vertically. It has that flexibility, totally up to you. You are gonna get three of these vent duct adapters. You got two on each side, two on the top, two on the bottom, three on the back as far as punch outs, depending on what your needs are. And as you can see, you've got these little L installation brackets that come with it for mounting it, and those would most likely go on these top tabs here. Well folks, I think that's gonna wrap it up, just a quick look at our Dometic 40,000 BTU-rated Doorless furnace. I'm Steven. Thanks for watchin' and have a great day.
