Quick Disconnect Fitting Diagram

Make camping more fun and relaxing. Moving your 5th-wheel camper or travel trailer once you've gotten settled at the campsite is a real chore. No one wants to have to pack up, unplug, and go refill the propane cylinders, just to come back to the site and set everything up all over again. This Sturgi-Stay T-fitting lets you connect an auxiliary cylinder to your setup using a quick-disconnect fill hose (sold separately). As a result, you can run your appliances off of the propane in the cylinder rather than using up the LP gas from your trailer's setup. When you run out, just refill the auxiliary cylinder and hook it up again.

The disposable cylinder port on the Sturgi-Stay provides a connection point for a small, portable appliance or propane tree. This way you can power a grill, heater, or other accessory without needing to use a 1-lb throwaway cylinder. Simply attach an adapter hose (sold separately) to your appliance and then to the disposable cylinder port on the T-fitting.

Quick Disconnect Port

QDs

The Sturgi-Stay features a quick-disconnect port that connects to the fill hose (sold separately) from your auxiliary cylinder. This quick-disconnect port lets you connect and disconnect a hose without any tools. Simply snap the quick-disconnect hose into the port and it will stay locked in until you release it. To remove the hose, just pull back on the collar of the port. The port also features a gas shut-off lever that allows you to completely cut off the propane supply to that port to keep gas contained when no hose is attached. Be sure to move the lever to the "off" position before disconnecting the hose.

These Sturgi-Stays work well for expanding a RV propane distribution system without being limited to regulator BTU/H limit. We put one on both our RV propane tanks. Details of this RV modification and many others may be found here if interested:

Is exactly what I was looking for.
My
grill has a regulator, so connecting to the quick connect on my trailer does not work. Now I can quick connect without having to modify my grill.

Excellent presales support in answering all of my questions. Products worked as decribed. I use these product to connect my portable grill to the 30 lb LP tank on my 5th wheel, rather than use disposable LP bottles.

by:

This a great valve for adding a BBQ grill directly off the propane tank in your trailer. It works as described and its easy to install.

This unit does what it says it will however I think there is room for improvement. To use this system you need three wrenches on hand. A 7/8 for the hose to the gas cylinder, a 1/2" for removing the plug from the fitting and a 7/16 for the hose to the fitting connection. Why not make them both 7/16"? When you remove the hose you need to be very careful not to allow the ends to hit the dirt, why not have little caps on both ends to keep them clean when not in use. Again, it works but engineering wise could use some work for the price. This allowed us to use 20lb cylinders that cost 3.45 per gallon to fill vs 3.65 and moving the rig everytime the big tank got low.

by:

Arrived as described. Disappointed to discover that etrailer.com does not carry mounting brackets for their regulators, but I welcomed the opportunity to dust off my diy skills. Note the bailing wire. Super pro! Also, if anyone knows what happens when one uses a vertical regulator horizontally, I'm all ears.

by:

I ordered this to save money on the 1 lb green tanks. Well it worked great for the first 10 months! It leaks around the on and off valves!! So I removed it before we had a bigger issue as this was connected to my propane tank under my Class A Motorhome.

by:

I've had these on my other RVs. Be careful and check for leaks, usualy around the valve stems. They claim they are rated up to 250psi but the fittings are marked at only 1/2psi. Whats up with that?

by:

The problem I was having was orange flame on the stove. Looking on line it said that was caused by a defective propane regulator. We were using a humidifier, with the humidifier turn on we got orange flames with the humidifier turned off blue flames.

  • How To Hook Up a Coleman Road Trip Grill to a Quick Disconnect Port On Trailer
Correct, in order to attach a propane accessory to the quick disconnect port on a trailer that accessory must be unregulated as the quick disconnect ports on trailers are already run through the main propane regulator. If the propane grill has a built-in regulator which most do then you will need to tee into the propane supply before it reaches the regulator with the MB Sturgis Sturgi-Stay T-Fitting part # 103613-MBS. The MB Sturgis Quick Disconnect Propane Hose for Small Appliance part...

  • Propane Hose and Adapter to Change a Weber Q2200 to a Quick Connect Style
From what I could find on your Weber Q2200, it has a disposably cylinder connection. Since there is already a regulator on your grill, I wouldn't recommend using the Camco Propane Hose w/ Shut-Off Valve # CAM57629. You cannot double regulate propane and I wouldn't recommend removing the regulator from the grill if it can be avoided. Instead I would use the MB Sturgis Propane Adapter Hose # 100476-72-MBS to connect to your grill and then the MB Sturgis Sturgi-Stay T-Fitting # 103613-MBS...

  • Hose and T-Connector to Run Coleman Stove From Trailer Propane Quick Disconnect
We do have the parts you need in order to run your Coleman stove from your trailer's quick disconnect, but you will also need a t-fitting to go with the hose. The reason you mentioned the stove has its own regulator; but your trailer's quick disconnect is also regulated, and you can't double-regulate (go through two regulators). So the correct parts are going to be the following: - MB Sturgis Quick Disconnect Propane Hose for Small Appliance - Disposable Cylinder Port # 100476-120-MBS -...

  • Grill Compatibility That Uses 1LB Throw Away Cylinders With RV Camper Quick Connect Propane
The quick connects for propane systems can be used with either high pressure or low pressure propane systems. The quick connect on your RV is going to be low pressure and will not work with your grill that uses a 1lb tank as it has a regulator of its own for the high pressure propane. You will be able to use the MB Sturgis Propane Adapter Hose # 100476-120-MBS if you place the MB Sturgis Sturgi-Stay T-Fitting # 103613-MBS on one of your propane tanks on the front of your camper. • Supplying Camer Propane Burner and Outside Grille with DOT Propane Tank
What you are looking to do is very possible. The first thing you need is a Tee like the part # CAM59103 which you'd run between the tank and the regulator like the part # 108220 through a pigtail like # 100473-12. The line that would go to the interior of the trailer would be the # 100040-144-MBS for the burner. Check out the diagram I attached to see how it all installs as well as the help article link I attached as well.

  • How Does the MB Sturgis Quick Disconnect Propane Hose # 100476-120-MBS Install on a Camper
The MB Sturgis Quick Disconnect Propane Hose for Small Appliance # 100476-120-MBS will install on a T-Fitting before the regulator on the camper side. Some campers already have the T-Fitting installed so if this is the case you will be good to go. If your camper does not already have a T-Fitting installed before the regulator on the camper you can simply install the MB Sturgis Sturgi-Stay T-Fitting for Type 1 Valve # 103613-MBS. This will help you avoid running your propane through 2 regulators...

  • Connecting Champion 4500 Dual Fuel Generator to Travel Trailers Propane System
You have already identified the most likely problem when you stated "doesn’t seem to get enough propane". The QD system on your Airstream set up is run through a propane regulator. Connecting to this and using the included regulator with the Champion 4,500-Watt Dual Fuel Portable Inverter Generator, # CH44FR is not supplying enough propane, you are dropping the pressure and volume too low. I recommend connecting your generator to the propane source using the MB Sturgis Sturgi-Stay T-Fitting,...

  • Is It Possible To Connect Two Propane Regulators In Line
Unfortunately this will not work. The regulator on your trailer reduces propane under high pressure to pressure that will support a column of water approximately 11-inches high. The proprietary regulators used on Coleman and other similar camp stoves will support a column of water somewhat higher, not lower. If you “adapt” a Coleman type stove to run on what is considered a low pressure system (already regulated down to at 11 inches, you will get hardly any flame and it would only serve...

  • Connecting Blackstone Griddle to LP Tank
I assume your Blackstone griddle has a regulator, so what you'd need is a tee between your propane tank and regulator: - MB Sturgis Sturgi-Stay T-Fitting for Type 1 Valve # 103613-MBS - MB Sturgis Quick Disconnect Propane Hose # 100476-120-MBS Since you'll run the connection to your griddle from the tee, the griddle's propane won't be double-regulated.
