With this camping kitchen for your modular Yakima EXO system, you'll be the chef du Jour at the campsite or when tailgating at the big game. The kitchen lets you transport, prepare, and cook meals no matter where you are. Simply remove whatever accessory you have on your EXO base system and replace it with the kitchen. Although it will work best on the upper tier of a two-tier system, you can attach it to a single-tier system.
The OpenRange chuck box is the centerpiece of the EXO camping kitchen. Load it up with cookware, dinnerware, and spices and use it as a workstation at the campsite. The front panel can be used as a prep table, the removable shelf inside the box lets you organize your gear, and a silverware drawer underneath the shelf stores knives, forks, spoons, and smaller kitchen gadgets. A pole with a hook for a lantern (sold separately) is also included so you can cook at night.
Locking latches secure the chuck box to the base system. If you can't park where you want to cook, you can undo the latches, remove the chuck box from the base system, and carry it wherever you want to go. Handles on the sides of the chuck box make it easy for 1 person to carry.
The leg kit (Y76AR - sold separately) allows you to set up the chuck box away from your vehicle and off the ground.
The backboard organizer lets you quickly access condiments, dishrags, and cooking utensils. The metal legs let you install it in the holes provided on the chuck box or either side table.
The CookOut propane stove is perfect for off-the-grid cooking. It has 2 burners with individual control knobs so you can adjust each flame from high heat to simmer, and the folding side panels protect the flames from wind. There's also a hanging storage bag for a standard 1-lb propane tank (not included) that connects to the kitchen's metal side table to keep your fuel close but out of the way. For longer trips, you can add a refillable 5-lb or 10-lb propane tank (sold separately).
To light the stove, connect your propane tank with the included regulator, open the lid, give each knob a half turn counterclockwise, and push the red piezo igniter. When you're done cooking, disconnect the propane tank, fold down the lid and side panels, and tuck the stove into the included storage bag.
2 Side tables are included to increase your cooking preparation area. The heat-resistant metal side table provides a surface for the propane stove and has a wire rack that flips over to create a towel holder. The bamboo side table has a cutout that can interchangeably hold either the included sink or cutting board, while leaving enough surface space for a mixing bowl. The sink has a rubber plug and drain tube that lets you direct the water away from camp when you're ready to drain the basin.
To set the tables up, first decide how high you want the tables to sit and connect them to one of the three connection points on either side of the chuck box. There are two sets of attachment rungs on the sides of the cargo box and another attachment point on the handles. Both tables have a telescoping leg that's easy to adjust. With the tables attached to the cargo box, extend each leg to match the height of the table, fine tune each leg so the tables are level, then tighten down the hand knobs.
Same Key System (SKS) locks on each chuck box latch secure the gear inside. The chuck box also secures to your EXO base system, using the cores that were included with the system. Additional SKS cylinders (sold separately) let you make all your Yakima products keyed alike.

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Yakima OpenRange Deluxe Camp Kitchen system. Now, this system is designed to be mounted onto your Yakima EXO swing base or top shelf. This does not include the swing base and top shelf. Those are sold separately. We do have them available here at etrailer.com if you don't already have them.
You can find 'em using the part numbers that you see on the screen there, but this system is designed to be mounted on that EXO system. So this is then going to provide you a portable organized camp kitchen at the back of your vehicle. This does include four different individual components that are sold separately, all in one kit here. So let's go over some of these individual components so you can see how they all fit together as a whole. Our main unit here is our open range camp kitchen, which is a durable 90-quart capacity box with a rubber door seal.
That's gonna keep your gear protected from the elements. Very simple to close up with our locking latches here. That's going to make sure that we have a nice tight seal. And then we also have the keys. We'll lock that in place to help deter theft.
When we're ready to open it up just simply unlock it, undo those latches. And then that door does fold down. So not only do we have easy access into our box but we're also gonna have this as a prep surface that we can use to prepare our food and that sort of thing. This does have an internal shelf here. That's gonna help us keep things organized as well as a utensil organizer here, we will slide out so we can keep all of our silverware and whatnot organized.
We're also going to get this lantern hook so that we can see our camp kitchen set up in the dark as well as this backboard organizer with all these different pockets and pouches. So we can keep all of our gear where we need it and very easy to access. We're also going to get this handheld bottle openers so we can open up those bottles and have a good time. We are gonna get two side tables. One is a bamboo construction. So this bamboo side table is 27 inches long by 13 and a quarter of an inch wide. It does have this opening here that will allow us to get our included collapsible wash basin put in place so we can wash our dishes after dinner, but then it will also accommodate the included 14 and 3/4 long by 11 and 3/4 wide plastic cutting board. So if we want to use this surface to prep our meal beforehand we can put that cutting board in place both fit in very nicely into that opening. Our wash basin does have this plug here that is removable so that we can drain out any water after we're done washing up. On the other side, we're going to have a metal table. This table is going to be 31 inches long by 16 inches wide. It's a powder-coated steel construction. So it is going to be heat resistant. So it's gonna be perfect for your stove use. And we do have this metal hook here and the fold out rod that can be used as a towel rack or to hold your portable propane canister to fuel the stove. Of course, that propane canister is not included with this kit you and need to provide that yourself. And then our propane stove can sit on this table. This does include the two burners with control knobs, push button start, or ignition, and the splash guards here as well as the more rigid propane regulator. That's going to connect your disposable cylinder. When we have this all assembled it's right about eight feet in total length. So it is gonna take up some room. I'll give you some space to kind of get different pieces of the meal assembled and that sort of thing but it will require a little bit of room for the side tables and whatnot. When it's time to break down camp, your propane stove here does have these latching, this latching lid. So we can just roll that in on itself. Very easy to take that with us. Then our tables are going to remove very easily. They've got screws here that we can just loosen by hand to disconnect from our camp kitchen. So we can lift those off the legs are removable. We've got a knob up here at the top. We'll loosen that. That will allow us to slide that leg out. And while I have this here, I do wanna show you that these legs are adjustable so we can make sure that our height setting is gonna keep everything nice and level for us. So we can retract that now your bamboo table will store, can be stored in your box, but our metal table is a little bit too big. So they do include this padded case here that we can store our leg and our table in to get it all put away. And then of course our EXO box is going to already be mounted onto our system. So all we have to do is close that up and we'll be ready to go. This is made here in the USA, so you can trust it's made to the high quality standards. We've come to know and trust for products that are made here in the us. This, it does come with a limited lifetime warranty. So if you we're to have any issues with it you're more than welcome to reach out to us here at etrailer.com. But overall, I think this is gonna be a great way to give yourself a very organized, portable kitchen A great way to utilize the EXO system on your vehicle. And if you do have the top shelf like we have here it's going to still allow you to use that bottom mounting portion for your other gear. You can use a cargo basket, box, that sort of thing any of those other EXO components will still fit in place there depending on the size that you're working with. And as you can see, this is very easy to get set up again just getting the table mounted on the side and getting that set up to the height that we want with our hooks and rubber app. So overall, really nice system here. If you are wanting to have a portable camp kitchen at the back of your vehicle this is a great way to go about it. So that completes our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..
