Note: Most models have a silver sticker inside the glove box that displays your radio type.
The rear assist lines generated by the system's camera make connecting your fifth wheel camper or gooseneck trailer a one-person job. The lines appear on your 8" factory monitor and show the distance from other objects, allowing you to accurately line up your connection point when hooking up your camper or trailer.
0 Lux night vision produces a quality picture and gives you the flexibility you need when hooking up your camper or trailer. You can line up your connection point in low-light conditions at dusk, or in complete darkness at night without the aid of IR transmitters.
Simply unscrew and unplug your factory third brake light. Once removed, set your new custom bezel with camera in place. Feed the 6' camera wire through the opening into your truck and re-install your factory third brake light in front of the custom bezel.
Next, connect your 6' camera wire to the 18' wiring harness. This combined 24' wire will extend through your head liner or door sill panel along the edge of the floor, up to the front of your truck, and connect with the included ground and power wiring harness. The power wire will run to your truck's battery.
Included wiring harness allows for simple plug and play installation with your vehicle's module. The integrated power wire for the flip switch will run to 12V accessory power.

Hello neighbors, Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at a custom third brake light camera for an eight inch factory monitor with built-in night vision. Now folks, this is a custom fit application for the 2019 through 2021 GMC Sierra or Chevy Silverado, all sizes it looks like, 15, 25, 35, 45, and even the 6500 series trucks. Now that being said, please make sure you're checking our fit guide here at etrailer.com, top center of the homepage where it says My Vehicle. Enter things such as your year, make and model, bed length, cab style, whatever kind of questions it asks to make sure you're getting the right fit for your specific vehicle. I also recommend this because videos can be outdated and it could possibly fit newer years, makes, and models as well.
That being said, getting into it, this custom bezel with camera here will mount behind your third brake light, and you're gonna be able to see it is movable, so you can change the angle if you need to, and you'll be able to see with the third brake light behind you whatever's going into your truck bed and that kind of a view a little higher up. It does work with the factory eight inch monitor and IOU, IOS, and IOT radios. It can assist you in connecting your fifth wheel or gooseneck trailer, and it's only gonna function while in reverse. As I just showed you, you can tilt it up or down. It can give you about 160 degree viewing angle.
Now, with that camera on your screen, you're gonna be able to see things such as rear assist marker lines, and that's gonna give you distance from other objects and some lines to help line you up. It also has a zero lux night vision, so that's gonna produce a nice high-quality picture in complete darkness without using the IR transmitters. It's waterproof, weatherproof, and aluminum camera is gonna resist dust and corrosion. It has been IP69 rated. It's gonna protect against dust, close range, high pressure spray down, such as car washes, those kind of thing.
And as far as installation, you simply use your existing hardware that you have. You may have to drill holes if you're choosing to mount the flip switch itself. Now, it does come with this little box here. It has all your different connections you're gonna need in the front and the back. They give you the customized wiring with all the Deutsch connectors and specialized connectors you need to make these connections, and they give you the camera wires and all this.
The biggest one here is a 24 foot long wiring harness. It's gonna work with a 12 volt to 24 volt DC current. And as far as the resolution, it's a 620 lines resolution. Now, as far as an install, reading over the instructions, it looks like you're gonna basically have to route this wire either up through the headliner or down through the door carpet area panels and that kind of thing. Just depends on your preference. So check the instructions out, make sure you're getting what you want to get and you're following those instructions to make the install as easy as possible. Well folks, that's gonna wrap it up. I'm Steven. Thanks for looking with me today at this custom third brake light camera. Have a good one.
