Galvanized Steel
Galvanized steel parts are hot-dipped in zinc after being stamped. This creates a coating that is typically 3 mil to 5 mil thick. This thick, all-around coating allows galvanized steel products to provide years of use without rusting or corroding.

Today we're going to be taking a look at the CE Smith frame straps. Frame straps are designed to be used with u-bolts to secure accessories to your trailer frame. These particular straps are designed to fit three inch frames. They're made from a corrosion resistant galvanized steel. It's very strong and durable. It's going to be great for marine use, or any application that's exposed to moisture.
You're going to get two frame straps with this part number. The product is made in the USA. We're just going to take some time to go over some basic measurements. The distance that we have from the center of one hole to the center of the other hole, that's going to give us a measurement of about three and a half inches. Overall length measurement, end to end, is going to measure five inches long. The width measurement is going to measure an inch and a quarter.
The bolt hole diameters on each strap is going to measure 9/16 of an inch. Then the plate, again steel construction, that's going to be quarter inch thick. These are designed to accept u-bolts with an inner width measurement of three and 1/8 of an inch. Those are sold separately, so if you're in need of those you can find them here at eTrailer.com. Good, strong links. Hole had to be enlarged slightly to fit bolts from kit with shorter links but this was accomplished easily.
