The OutPost HD Overland Rack is made for hauling serious gear whether you’re heading to the jobsite or out for a weekend adventure. It’s rated for 500 lbs of on-road capacity and 300 lbs off-road, so you can haul heavy items like rooftop tents, kayaks, or construction materials without worrying about strength or stability. Each upright rises 13" above the bed rails, keeping your load above the bed but still easy to reach.
This rack was designed and tested for real off-road conditions. Yakima put it through simulations for hard braking, swerving, and rough terrain to make sure it exceeds ISO standards. The sturdy aluminum build with a black powder coat finish resists rust and corrosion, even after years of exposure to gravel roads and bad weather.
Both the inside and outside of the uprights have channels for mounting accessories like eye bolts, lights, or paddle holders. The 68" crossbars also include top and bottom channels that fit most Yakima clamp-on and channel-mounted gear such as bike racks, kayak carriers, or cargo boxes. Rubber strips inside the channels help cut down on wind noise and vibration, keeping your ride quiet and secure.
The QuickChange system makes it easy to mount or remove the rack in minutes without drilling. Track adapters slide right into your truck’s utility tracks and tighten down, while BedGrip clamps secure to the bed rails. Etched measurements on the crossbars make it simple to align everything evenly. Built-in tie-down points on the uprights and crossbars let you secure gear from any angle.
The mid-cab height design gives you a low center of gravity and easy access to your gear while keeping space open in the truck bed. Same Key System (SKS) lock cores secure the uprights and can be matched with other Yakima gear so one key handles it all. The signature bottle openers on each upright add a little convenience when the job or the trail ends.

Rack system works very good. Easy to take off and on my F150. Wish it was more adjustable to lower the system a few inches. Also because of the bed formation cannot place anywhere on the bed. Overall it is stable and rides well

Thanks etrailer for the help in getting this! Couldn't find the Tonneau adapter in stock anywhere. Thankfully etrailer let me place an order and they tracked down the part for me. GREAT communication by the etrailer customer support team keeping me updated on the status of this order. It took a while due to delays from Yakima, but it's now installed and I'm very happy.
The products durability is great. Find the right height for my truck was more challenging. I wish I had not gotten this particular product. Doesn’t go above my truck bed cab.

I think the bottle opener feature advertised should work! I emailed about that shortly after installing the product, even sending photos, and no one from your company every reached back out to me to resolve the issue.
Great rack system for tonneau cover with rail system. Easy install and very well made, the only down side is when you order the system for the tonneau cover you also get all the hardware for non tonneau cover trucks. Excessive amount of expensive hardware you’ll never use with your tonneau cover installed

After researching many truck racks I decided to purchase this one. The staff at etrailer were very helpful and friendly . The product arrived on schedule with no problems. The installation was fairly easy straightforward. I must say that I made the right decision in choosing this product as the quality is very good. Once I got it installed it was rock solid. The following week I made a 600 plus miles trip to the mountains with a Thule cargo box installed on it and had zero problems. I would check it whenever I stopped to make sure it was still secure and it remained rock solid with no issues. I am very satisfied with this Yakima rack and would highly recommended it. I also recommend etrailer for doing business with. They followed up with me on my purchase to see if I was satisfied or had any problems. I will do business with them again!
