This lightweight trailer with saddle-style cradles let you transport your favorite kayaks or canoes. With a 7-1/2' long tongue, this trailer offers exceptional clearance during tight turns. The extended tongue also makes it easier to back up the trailer and prevent binding than trailers with shorter tongues.
Durable saddle-style kayak carriers are flexible and padded to prevent scuffs, scratches, or damage to your boat during transport. The high-grip, adjustable saddles stabilize your boat and prevent movement while traveling on uneven or rough terrain. Fabric covers on the rear saddles allow easy boat loading from the back of your trailer.
The DOT-approved tail lights on this trailer are fully submersible, so you don't have to worry about damaging the lights when loading and unloading your boat in water. Each tail light has brake, running light, and turn signal functions, as well as side marker lights and reflectors. In addition, these LED lights last longer, burn brighter, and require less power than incandescent bulbs.
The wiring for this trailer has a simple plug-and-play design, so it doesn't require any cutting or splicing to install. As you assemble the trailer, route the main wiring harness through the trailer tongue and down towards the body of the trailer. Then plug the 4-wire end of the tail light harness into the main harness.
Run the wires of the tail light harness along the sides of the trailer frame and plug the individual wires into the matching wires on the side marker lights and the tail lights. The wires are color-coded so that you can easily match them up - no circuit tester is required. Once all of the wires are plugged in, use the included clips to secure the harness to the frame.
When you're ready to connect the trailer to your vehicle, simply plug the trailer end of the main harness into the 4-way flat connector on your vehicle.
This trailer includes a leaf spring suspension system to limit road shock while you tow. A sturdy steel axle runs beneath the trailer frame. The 2 slipper springs that support the axle flex to absorb the rough motion that can occur when driving over bumpy terrain. Also, the axle, spring hangers, and tie plate are galvanized to resist rust and corrosion.
Hooking this trailer to your vehicle is quick and easy. The trailer's coupler connects to a 2" hitch ball, and the included safety chains act as an emergency measure if the coupler accidentally disconnects from your hitch ball. A rubber coated lift handle is mounted to the coupler to provide a solid grip for lifting or maneuvering the trailer. Finally, the skid plate on the underside of the trailer tongue keeps the coupler from touching the ground.

Im still completely satisfied with the Malone trailer. It hauls well on the highway and is easy to maneuver by hand into tight spaces, even with two fishing kayaks loaded. Ive been asked several times at the launch where I got it and Ive sent them directly to etrailer.

I really love this trailer. I have received a number of compliments on it. I hauled my kayak on a few 200+ mile road trips this summer. No issues at highway speeds or steep grades up and down mountains.

It has been a busy season. I love having the ability to change the racks easily as we have 3 kayaks, 1 canoe and a sup and are always changing as moods change and different people visit.

The trailer is everything I had hoped it would be. I mostly use it for transporting kayaks locally for my boat building business. I have not taken it on a long trip yet but my little car pulls it with ease.

Its been working out great! Diffidently was a good purchase. It handles my Hobie Outback kayak with ease. I can loadunload it easily by myself. I haul it with my Jeep wrangler. The trailer is lite enough that I can move it around myself. I did not install the storage box, because I feel that it needs support from the bottom. Im afraid with to many bumps on the road could cause it to fail. So I keep it inside the Jeep instead. Still Im glad I purchase the storage box, very handy.

I have used the trailer for over a year now, and I still love it. I’ve had absolutely ZERO problems with it. I store it outside, so it’s always exposed to the weather. But the only wear and tear I see is in the foam pads of the cradles which are not part of the trailer kit and which are probably caused by kayak installation and removals. I can load and unload the kayak in seconds. I am very happy I bought this trailer. Other people are quick to complement it, which allows me to boast that I put it together from a kit! Note: I just saw my initial review and noticed that the spell control software substituted “institutions” for “instructions “. Sorry about that.

It has been the best investment we have made for the kayaks. So easy to keep the kayaks on the trailer in the garage and just hook up the trailer to the car and go.
