What size thule bar would be needed for 2 sets of hullavators on my 2020 subaru outback?

You would need at least 60" long crossbars to carry two Hullavators # TH898 plus very significant roof weight capacity. For your 2020 Subaru Outback, the fitted crossbar length from Thule system is 47" with parts # TH711220, # TH710601, and # TH37CE. Getting 60" bars on your vehicle will have too much overhang which will neither fit the Hullavator nor will be safe.

There's other options like the Malone MicroSport Trailer for 2 Kayaks part # MPG461GU which can be pricey, but is so much easier to load and unload kayaks. There is also the Malone DownLoader Kayak Carrier and TelosXL Load Assist part # MPG114MD-351XL with another Malone DownLoader Kayak Carrier # MPG114MD. This way you have two kayak carriers plus a load assist option. Not as easy effortless as the Hullavator, but still a decent option.
