Note: Your local municipality requires you to register your trailer with the DMV. An etrailer representative will be reaching out to get information from you for the title.
This lightweight and low-profile trailer with saddle-style cradles lets you transport your favorite kayaks or canoes. Because of the trailer's low-profile design, the crossbars sit only 22" off the ground. The lower crossbars provide a safe height to load heavy kayaks and help avoid unnecessary overhead lifting.
With a 7-1/2' tongue, this trailer offers exceptional clearance during tight turns. The extended tongue also makes it easier to back up the trailer and prevent binding than trailers with shorter tongues.
Durable saddle-style kayak carriers are flexible and padded to prevent scuffs, scratches, or damage to your boat during transport. The high-grip, adjustable saddles stabilize your boat and prevent movement while traveling on uneven or rough terrain. Fabric covers on the rear saddles allow easy boat loading from the back of your trailer.
The DOT-approved tail lights on this trailer are fully submersible, so you don't have to worry about damaging the lights when loading and unloading your boat in water. Each tail light has brake, running light, and turn signal functions, as well as side marker lights and reflectors. In addition, these LED lights last longer, burn brighter, and require less power than incandescent bulbs.
The wiring for this trailer has a simple plug-and-play design, so it doesn't require any cutting or splicing to install. As you assemble the trailer, route the main wiring harness through the trailer tongue and down towards the body of the trailer. Then plug the 4-wire end of the tail light harness into the main harness.
Run the wires of the tail light harness along the sides of the trailer frame and plug the individual wires into the matching wires on the side marker lights and the tail lights. The wires are color-coded so that you can easily match them up - no circuit tester is required. Once all of the wires are plugged in, use the included clips to secure the harness to the frame.
When you're ready to connect the trailer to your vehicle, simply plug the trailer end of the main harness into the 4-way flat connector on your vehicle.
This trailer includes a leaf spring suspension system to limit road shock while you tow. A sturdy steel axle runs beneath the trailer frame. The 2 slipper springs that support the axle flex to absorb the rough motion that can occur when driving over bumpy terrain. Also, the axle, spring hangers, and tie plate are galvanized to resist rust and corrosion.
Hooking this trailer to your vehicle is quick and easy. The trailer's coupler connects to a 2" hitch ball, and the included safety chains act as an emergency measure if the coupler accidentally disconnects from your hitch ball. A rubber coated lift handle is mounted to the coupler to provide a solid grip for lifting or maneuvering the trailer. Finally, the skid plate on the underside of the trailer tongue keeps the coupler from touching the ground.

I am glad it is working great for you! I have assembled a few of these myself and it is not the quickest thing in the world. Looks great with your kayak loaded as well!

Glad to hear you are liking it, Anthony! I can definitely see why loading it on a roof rack wouldn't be the most "pleasant" thing to do! That's quite the kayak! Where do you typically take it out? I did a little bit of kayaking in my youth, but I preferred the lay down style paddle boards. There are a lot of lakes and rivers here in Missouri though, so I might try out a kayak again.

Glad to hear you had fun with it, John! I have always enjoyed putting things together (and taking other things apart), and when it's something that will get use, it's just the icing on the cake! : ) Looks like you have it set up for carrying a kayak? What do you have?

Only one issue otherwise a great trailer for my Blue Sky Boat Works Angler 360. The issue is 3 of the individual tail light LEDs have failed. To eTrailer support, does this require a whole tail light replacement or just the 3 individual LEDs?

This trailer is used to move two 80-pound kayaks around. It works great and after 1 year there have been no issues. I have taken it on several long, over 2,000-mile trips. I did upgrade the tires to a higher speed rating.

The trailer has performed perfectly for us. This is the third season with it, and weve traveled well over 2500 miles with it. The lighting issue I described in the previous review still exists, but no more additional lights have quit so I havent had to replace the light fixture. We are thrilled with the trailer!
