BikeWing-2 V-shaped hitch bike rack

The Vme BikeWing-2 hitch-mounted bike rack lets you carry up to 2 bikes by the wheels on V-shaped support arms. It has adjustable, anti-sway cradles that let you transport bikes of most sizes and frame styles. The construction is tough yet lightweight and the rack is easy to set up and store.

V-Shaped Support Arms

BikeWing-2 V-shaped hitch bike rack

The BikeWing-2 features 2 removable support arms - or wings - that form a "V." The V-rack distributes weight evenly, holding your bikes by the wheels - not the frames. This ensures level transport and it also eliminates the need for bike frame adapter bars normally required for mounting women's, children's, and alternative frame bikes on a hanging-style bike rack.

BikeWing-2 with removable, V-shaped support arms

The support arms can be removed if you need access to the rear cargo area of your vehicle or for storage. Simply pull the pins at the base of the rack to remove the arms. The pins are tethered to the base so you won't lose them.

BikeWing-2 with support arms detached

The base of the rack can be left in your hitch without interfering with your vehicle's rear hatch.

Adjustable Wheel Cradles and Sway Stops

BikeWing-2 with adjustable sway stops

The upper wheel cradles adjust independently so that your bikes hang level on the rack. With your bikes in place adjust the lower sway stops so that they are flush against the bottom of your tires. This Zero-G bike freeze system eliminates all bike motion and prevents any contact between your bikes frames and the rack. To secure your bikes to the rack pull the rubber strap on each cradle and sway stop over the wheel and hook the tightest hole around the peg at the end of the cradle.

BikeWing-2 cotter pin

To adjust each cradle for the proper spacing and height for your specific bikes simply remove the cotter pin, pull out the cradle, and replace it in the desired hole. To adjust each sway stop simply unscrew the knob, slide the sway stop to the desired position, then re-tighten the knob.

BikeWing-2 rubber straps and foam pads

The cradles and sway stops are coated with rubberized nylon to protect your bike wheel surfaces from scratches and scuffs. This coating also provides friction to help grip the wheels on your bikes.

BikeWing-2 frame-protecting foam pads

Foam pads on the support arms help keep your bikes stationary and rattle-free during transport. The pads slide up and down the support arms to accommodate different bike sizes and protect the paint from scratches.

Folding Design

BikeWing-2 shank with 2-1/2-inch rise

The rack folds down with your bikes loaded for cargo area access. Simply remove the pin at the base of the V-arms and insert it into the upper pin hole. Gently lower the V-arms until they rest against the pin.

Rise Shank Improves Ground Clearance

BikeWing-2 shank with 2-1/2-inch rise

The BikeWing-2 has a rise shank that provides up to 2-1/2" of additional ground clearance at the carrier base. This is great for a vehicle that sits low to the ground - such as a compact car - or for pulling in and out of a driveway with a steep grade.

Anti-Rattle Connection to 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches

BikeWIng-2 adapter for 2 inch hitches

The rack comes with an adapter sleeve that lets you convert the 1-1/4" shank for use in 2" hitches. The adapter sleeve installs easily with the included screw and Allen key. 2 NoMotion anti-wobble hitch pins help to reduce noise and movement of the rack in your hitch and at the junction where the rack separates. The pins thread into a cylindrical anti-rattle device already installed in the rack's shanks. You can also add a padlock with a 3/16" shackle (131D - sold separately) to the Silent Hitch Pin to secure the carrier to your vehicle.

Video Transcript for Lets Go Aero BikeWing-2 2-Bike Rack Review

Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the Lets Go Aero BikeWing-2 2 Bike Rack for 1 1/4 inch and 2 inch Hitches, part number B01311.The BikeWing-2 is an economical, lightweight bike rack, that can carry up to two bikes and doesn't require any bike adapter bars, because it grips everything by your tires. This can fit anything from your mountain bike, to the road bike that you see here, to alternate frame bikes, and kids bikes as well. And after that, we're going to show you an additional feature that was recently added to this bike rack. That's going to be it's ability to tilt away from the vehicle, with both bikes still attached, to gain rear hatch access. To do that, while holding on to the bike rack itself, we'll come to the base and remove this pin and clip like so, and reinsert it just below here, and then very gently, again while holding onto the bike rack itself never the bikes, we'll bring the bike rack down. And as you can see, there's plenty of space in between the bike rack itself and the bumper to get what you need.To put it back into it's original position simply just push up, again by the bike rack never the bikes themselves, until it's in the upright position, and then we'll just reinsert the pin.It also has the rubber pads here, and this is going to be on both arms, that you can adjust to help protect the frames of your bikes once they're being transported.Another benefit of this bike rack gripping your bikes by the wheels, it's going to prevent contact of your forks up at the front here, as well as frame contact.Another unique feature about this bike racks, is it's general V shape that you see here. That ensures that the bikes are going to sit level while you travel, as opposed to the hanging style, which sometimes you can see the bikes sitting at an angle like this, just to make sure they fit properly onto the bike rack.

And the pins at the top and at the base, can be adjusted to accommodate different wheels.Another additional feature for this bike rack, is going to be the 4 inch rise to the shank here, from where it goes into the hitch. That's going to help out, especially with vehicles that sit particularly low to the ground or have hitches that sit low to the ground, so clearance between the bike rack, or the bikes, and the ground won't be an issue. Also, if you have exhaust or dual mounted exhaust, it's going to also help protect the bikes to have them lifted a little bit, so that heat source isn't going to effect the tires. The carrying capacity for this bike is going to be about 80 pounds, so either 40 pounds per bike, or whatever configuration you have, just as long as you don't go over 80.There's a pin on the inside here, you pull that, you can pull out the peg, and adjust it as needed. And these can also be interchanged from side to side as needed. All you have to do is remove the arm, take them off, and flip them to the other side.Removing the arms can also be helpful when putting it away for storage, either in your vehicle or in your home.Next I'm going to give you a couple quick measurements, and this is designed to give you an idea of how far this is going to stick out from your vehicle, and how the closest part of the bike rack may be close to your vehicle.

So from the center of the hitch pin hole here to the closest part, this area here, that's going to be 12 inches. And from the center of the hitch pin hole to our furthest area, out here, is going to be 26 inches. It does have this collar around the shank as well, which simply pops off, and that's how you can utilize this with your 1 1/4 inch hitches, and this can work with both Class 1 and Class 2 hitches. And to secure it in place, we have this anti rattle bolt, which once tightened down will take out the shake and play in the shank, and make for a smoother ride. And it also, there is a padlock that you can buy separately for your anti rattle bolt here, that can actually secure it into your hitch. When comparing this with other bike racks, one that comes up is going to be the Swagman XTC-2 2-Bike Platform Rack for 1 1/4 inch and 2 inch Hitches, part number S64670. While both these bike racks have a lot of similarities, we're going to be focusing in on the differences, and the first big difference between these two is going to be the fact that the tilting feature on the BikeWing is different than the Swagman XTC-2, which can only fold down to the side once the bikes are off to gain rear hatch access. However, with the XTC-2 it does fold up nice and neat in a suitcase position, when you're putting it away for storage you don't have to remove the arms or anything like that, and it's not so much of a hassle. As far as loading your bikes, that's going to go to the Swagman, which is just a little bit easier to put those in place.

While with the BikeWing, you may have to spend a little bit of time adjusting back and forth the pegs on both the top and the bottom.Another difference between these two, is the BikeWing is rated for 5th wheels, motor homes, and tow able campers, while the XTC-2 is not. Also, the XTC-2 has a shank rise of 3 inches, while with the BikeWing that's going to be 4 inches; not a lot, but just a little bit more. Also, the BikeWing has a greater carrying capacity of 80 pounds total, as opposed to the XTC-2, which has a max capacity of 70 pounds. Now that we've gone over some of the features, let's go ahead and show you how it installs. Now before you do this, you need to determine if you have an 1 1/4 inch or 2 inch hitch. In this case we're going to have a 2 inch hitch.

If you had an 1 1/4 inch hitch, this portion here just simply pops off, just get a flathead screwdriver, pop it off, and put it in there that way.Now we're going to install it into our hitch. We'll insert it like so, then we'll line up the two pin holes here. Then we'll take our anti rattle bolt, with our flat washer and lock washer, install that on the other side and start getting it finger tight. Then we'll take 3/4 inch wrench, in this case we're using a ratchet wrench, which I would recommend because this makes it a whole lot easier. You can see how that shake and play's gone now. Then we'll take our clip and insert it on the other side. Before installing the bikes, you may notice that it's initially a little bit shaky on both sides, but once you start installing the bikes that weights going to push down and that initial shakiness is going to go away. The pegs at the top, as well as the base, can be switched around according to bike size. So saying if you have a mountain bike, you may need to adjust it up higher like we have here, or vice versa depending on the bike closest to the vehicle. Now we're ready to load up our first bike. You want to put the heaviest bike closest to the vehicle, which is why we've chosen our mountain bike here. Okay. And with our first bike initially installed, you need to make any adjustments necessary, such as where the pads are going to be sitting, and it looks like they're in the right spot here to help protect the frame of the bike. And you also want to make sure that the bottom pegs are nice and snug up against the bottom of our tire, and it looks like we'll have to adjust this one.All right, so we'll loosen it up, push it up against the tire, and tighten it back down. You want to make sure it's tight enough where it's not going to move from this point forward. Now we can go ahead and take our rubber straps here, and put them through the bike tire, and cinch those down as well. As we put the strap through our tire here, you want to notice that I'm not touching either of spokes while I'm putting this through, I'm going between. You want to make sure you do that. All right, and now we can repeat this process for our second bike. Now with both of our bikes installed, you can see how that initial shakiness is now gone and it's a little bit more sturdy. Now we're ready to take it on our test course, and show you how it looks. We'll start by going through the slalom, this is going to show us the side to side action, which simulates turning corners or evasive maneuvers. Finally, we have the full speed bumps where we'll see the up and down action, which is just like driving out of a parking lot, garage, or driveway. And there you have it for the Lets Go Aero BikeWing-2 2 Bike Rack for 1 1/4 inch and 2 inch Hitches, part number B01311.

We bought this hitch to use for a bike rack. It was easy to install taking me about one hour with no help. It hangs just below and underneath the bumper fascia so it doesn't stick out to become a trip or bump hazard. We also purchased the Bike Wing 2 bike rack; its RV rating was the deciding factors. It was easy to assemble taking 20 minutes, the most time consuming part being where to place the bike supports and padding. Most importantly the bikes don't make contact with each other or the car. We are definitely happy with both the hitch and bike rack and have no regrets. 512397

This bike rack is surprisingly lightweight and sturdy. I have yet to test the durability of the plastic components, but so far it has attached 2 road bikes securely. It did take some time to get the pins situated for 2 road bikes so definitely set aside some time to do this before using. The 2 best things about this rack are the portability and the fact that it can still fold out of the way for the rear hatch with bikes attached. Those were a couple of key criteria for me and this works well. We are able to carry the rack broken down easily in the back of a Subaru forester and assemble whenever needed. The downsides would be the number of pins to insert and adjust, the need to screw in the hitch mount, and also the potential durability issue for the plastic components and tightening wings. Overall I am pleased with the rack and would recommend to others with similar needs. 549899

Very quick delivery, not as strong as I thought it would be but it does the trick and my 3" wide big tire mountain bike fits unlike other more expensive bike racks that said it would when it didn't. Works great, put it together in under 15 minutes & I was on my way 526317

I just installed the bike rack yesterday. Works great. I did call and speak with the customer service center at LetsGoAero as the "No-Motion" pin/bolt that holds the rack onto the receiver was a bit stiff. They immediately said they would ship me a replacement. I also learned that when screwing the pin or bold, into a 1 1/4 inch receiver, you must install it from the passenger side towards the drivers side, as there appears to be a "stop" that prevents you from tightening the pin if you put the pin/bolt in from the opposite direction. Love the bike rack. Fits on both my R-Pod Travel Trailer and my Jeep Grand Cherokee! The long Shank makes all the difference, as I needed the clearance distance for the travel trailer. 571916

We have used this product for one continuous year on our trip with the travel trailer. It holds two bicycles. We chose this after considerable research because it was stated it could be used behind a travel trailer, attached to the rear hitch receiver. I did move the spare tire into the truck bed so as to keep the weight on the rear hitch to about 80 pounds (the bike wing plus the two bicycles). So far, the bike wing has done well. The only negative is loading both bikes can take 10 - 15 minutes and they never seems to go on the same way twice. But that said, the bike wing does as what was advertised. 528286

I bought this to pair with a Bike Bunk so that we can take our bikes with us on vacation when towing a pair of jet skis. The design of this rack allows me to mount the bikes above the trailer storage box. It's also convenient that it has both the 1 1/4" and 2" hitch support, as we can stick it on the back of our little Scion xD or in the hitch of my Chevy Silverado with the camper shell on. Both of the bikes I mounted on it when testing were approximately the same length, so it took some fiddling around with the locations of the support pegs to actually support both bikes from the bottom as well as the top. It's probably not the rack's fault that our bikes are almost exactly the same wheelbase, but it still was kind of annoying having to take the bikes off and on multiple times to figure out where each mount needed to be. 512526

We are VERY happy with our "Go Aero BikeWing" bike rack. It is lightweight and easy to hook up to the trailer hitch. The bike connects to the the bike rack easily and securely. There is plenty of clearance between the bike and our trailer, and plenty of clearance from bike to the road. As we were driving down the road, we didn't notice any difference in towing our trailer with the addition of the bike and bike rack. We would definitely recommend this bike rack to others. 521389

We continue to enjoy our Go Aero BikeWing bike rack. Earlier this year we traveled over 4000 miles with the bike rack on the back of our trailer and my bike on the bike rack with no problems what so ever. The rack continues to be easy to put on the trailer, and the bike is also easy to put on the rack. We are very pleased with this company and the assistance they provided helping us ing the correct bike rack for our needs. It is perfect.

Really like this bike rack... I am using it on the front of my travel trailer with the Stromberg Carlson bike rack carrier. It is really solid, doesn't move at all when we are driving. Easy to put the bikes on even though they are a little bit high up ... just feel it is very secure. We had to play around with thr positioning of the bikes a bit so the wheels didn't hit the truck when we turn, but it was easy to figure out with a little adjustment. Very happy 445980

So far, this rack seems great. It was easy to put together and get connected to my car. I suggest getting small padlocks to secure all of the mount points and the hitch bolt. I like that it is very lightweight and takes about 30 seconds to load my bike. I have only put one bike on it so far so I can't comment on how easy it is to mount two bikes. I think it would pretty easy after the initial set up of the tire mount points. I am including a picture of my biggest bike on this rack. My BMC Trailfox is a 6 inch travel 29er MTB with 2.3 tires. The fork is a Fox 34. It fits just fine. A Fox 36 would probably be okay as well. I think a fat bike or a plus bike would not fit as the fork might be too wide for the mounting points. I have owned a Thule T2 Classic in the past. The T2 is slightly faster to mount a bike. That is the only real advantage I see. However, I find the bit of sway to be similar between both bike racks. The Thule weighs like 40 pounds. It was a pain to take off my old jeep. This one weighs 12 and disassembles easily. The Thule cost me $280. This one cost me less than half. I think this is a great deal and a very good rack. Overall, I am very happy with it. 406296

So happy Mike H. at etrailer recommended this bike rack! We tow a fifth wheel with our 2017 Ford Super Duty 250, 4 wheel drive, and this bike rack makes it possible to bring our bikes with us. We had tried a different rack to use behind the RV, against the manufacturers warning, bad decision on our part!! The Let's Go Aero Bike Wing-2 is everything they said it is. Easy to assemble, lightweight and securely holds our bikes mated with the Draw-Tite front mount hitch, also provided by etrailer. Ground clearance to tire, 15". Clearance between bumper to inner mounted bike pedal, 3+ " no worry of contact between the two! Overall distance from bumper to outer bike handlebar, 30". Visibility while driving with bikes attached, no problem!! Completely satisfied with this product and etrailer. 436840

Getting to try out the Stromberg Carlson bike bunk that I installed on the trailer hitch frame. Using it with a Go Aero V2 bike rack that I can use on the trailer or the truck. It works great! The bike rack is easy to transfer weighing only 12 pounds and no movement of bikes at all during travel. Very happy with this combo from etrailer.com 429660

The first box I received had been opened while in transit and the unit looked like it had been used. I contacted etrailer and they sent me a new unit right away and a UPS label to return the other. Without question. Now that's good customer service! The new one came and I was able to assemble it easily following the provided directions. Since it comes in 3 parts, it is very easy for me to put in the hitch on my car and then add the 2 'arms' one at a time. Being almost 60 and female, I was concerned about the weight of some of the other racks I considered purchasing. This one is easy to install and use! I did have to work with the adjustments of the brackets on the arms to get them just right for my bike, but once done, I haven't had to touch them again. I have only taken the bike loaded on the rack for short drives, but I feel comfortable enough to go longer distances, too. I would highly recommend this bike rack and etrailer! 551592

Good product easy to set-up and use. The adaptor for the 2"hitch works well once you get rid of that internal thing that keeps it from laying flat. A large drill bit would do. It holds my carbon frame nicely by the wheels. good stuff and great price!!! 570941

I haven't had a chance to actually use this, so this review will be for the assembly process. All pieces and hardware were present. The instructions were relatively clear and the assembly was straightforward with no problems. I like the fact that you can tilt the rack down without removing it and that it breaks down easily into three pieces for storage. I'll update this when I actually get to use it. 553511

We use this rack on our R-Pod travel trailer and it works great. You will have to relocate the spare in this application. We also use it on our Jeep Wrangler and it works great there too stock size spare!. Its a bit more work to load the bikes than on other racks, but not a deal breaker. Bottom line: good product, good price.

We mounted it on the Stromberg Carlson bike bunk trailer rack for A-frame trailers. Which ends up quite high, for a good reason. To get bikes high above the propane tanks and the rear of your tow vehicle. Which means you need a big step stool, step ladder, or work off the back of a pickup truck. Memorize how your bikes go on the wing. To avoid having to keep adjusting the supports if you load your bikes differently for the next trip. 703702

Excellent product. Wanted a light weight carrier. This disassembles very easily so you can put it in your trunk while biking. We carry 2 e-bikes on a convertible with it. We remove the seats and battery to keep the weight below the 80 lb recommended weight. 690241

Item fits both 2” & 1 1/4” Reese hitches, so it can be utilized by either of our vehicles. It has a removable pin that allows it to quickly pivot outward away from trunk or rear hatchback. That makes it convenient to access other vehicle items. I also like the simplicity of its rubber secure straps that stretch over bicycle tires. I did add a set of rear lights to its base to help other drivers know when we are braking, turning, etc.. It had limited reflective tap only at its rear base, so I added more reflective tape to each of its outer vertical supports so any adjacent nighttime drivers could see it better. 677754

Am so. Pleased with the bike rack. It was easily put together, just had to adjust initial posts until the bikes would fit properly. The bike rack performed just as advertised. I have taken my first camping trip with it on my R Pod . I appreciate so much being able to get in touch with etrailer , the staff recommended the correct bike rack & evaluated the bike rack I was currently using. Many thanks, will recommend to others & use etrailer again. 662467

Worked perfectly and was a great solution for carrying 2 bikes. I used it with the Stromberg Carlson Bike Bunk and was very easy to install. It keeps the bikes high enough so they don't interfere with the tow vehicle and in full view while driving. The only downside is getting the inside bike off and on which takes a little effort to lift over the rack but not a real issue IMO. I'm very happy with the product and would definitely recommend it. 650192

So far, I'm happy with my Lets Go Aero Bikewing 2 Bike Rack on my Class 1 1-1/4 Hitch on my 2018 Ford Focus Hatchback for ONE bicycle; however, I have not tried to load TWO bicycles by myself. I like ... - that it's modular, so I can put it together one piece at a time. I'm a small 55-year-old female who likes to take my bicycle to work on nice days (my jobs are near the Great Allegany Passageway) to get my exercise in. -The part that inserts into the hitch and the two wings are very lightweight taken apart. -When I'm only using it for one bicycle, I can take the accouterments for the second bicycle off to prevent them from being lost or stolen. -that I can put different types of bikes on without conversion bars. I have female bikes, and my grandsons will have small bikes as they get old enough to come with me. -that I can hang the bike myself (rear wheel first works best) and secure it quickly. -that I can still open my hatchback with one bike on it without even having to tilt it. -that I can take it off easily by myself (front wheel first works best). -that I can quickly take the wings off and stow them in my hatchback to prevent them from being stolen. I do not like -that the wingless part that protrudes from the hitch sticks out so far, but that's the price you pay to keep the bikes from hitting your car and for being able to get into your hatch without tilting the rack. -that the wingless part could be stolen. -that I don't think I could tilt the rack with one bicycle on it (not much of an issue when I can open my hatch without tilting it) and wouldn't even try with two on it (not much of an issue if the second person is there to help). the missing apostrophe in "Lets," but I can pretend that's poetic license :-). I may add something about two bikes later. 650161

A good bike rack that is easy to put on and remove from the car. The rack is also adjustable and can fit many different sized bikes. The pins which hold the wheel cradles are too loose and one of the unused ones fell out while I was transporting one bike. I replaced these pins with ring cotter pins and I haven't had that issue since then. 644416

Used this bike rack on our Lexus GX460 to carry two bikes from northern Ohio to SW Florida and back. Bikes stayed tight the whole way with no issues. Very little wobble on the hitch. 643982

Does the job well. The hardware supplied securely mounted the carrier to the A frame of my 30 ft TT. Only slight movement when I'm heading down the road but nothing significant enough to consider added straps, etc. I like the idea of being able to keep an eye on my bikes in the rear view mirror instead of wondering if I unknowingly lost them 20 miles back. Clearance to the bed of my Ram 2500 on full turns was a little too close for comfort so I added several inches of shim without issue for a little safety margin. 642711

It took a phone call to customer support and my wife holding her mouth just right to get the 2" adapter into it's proper position on the shaft (something about the instructions not being accurate). Other than that small problem, the assembly process was easy. Putting the bikes onto the rack was not difficult and they were securely attached. I recommend this bike rack. 642203

For the price, this is excellent. We’ve been full time RVing for the last year and it’s been on the front of my truck when we move and then sitting outside when we’re not. Totally susceptible to mother nature’s fury. No issues except for very minor surface corrosion on an edge or two. 624250

The delivery of the Lets Go Aero Bike Wing was a day earlier than was originally stated which was great. Putting the Bike Wing together was simple. Unloading the bikes was a little trickier than loading but with time I believe it will become easier. My wife followed me as we were on the way to our camping location. She said the bikes (both mountain bikes) only shook a little even when going over railroad tracks and a rough concrete portion of the interstate. The bikes were still secured when we arrived at our destination. We use the Bike Wing in the factory installed 1 1/4 inch rack of our 42’ Chaparral fifth wheel. 616836

I have been looking for a bike rack for the 1 1/4” receiver on the back of our 5th wheel, and i have finally found it. We are traveling from PA to Florida and won’t worry the bikes won’t be there when we arrive. Very easy to assemble and install. Also when I called to order the staff was extremely helpful in making sure I had the right product. 602645

Mounted the bike rack to rear of my 5th wheel RV. Used it to take two bike from Wisconsin to Texas and back. So far, no problems. The only concern was that I had to remove one bike seat to allow for two bike to hang next to each other. Will work on adjusting hangers for better fit. 582624

I was looking for a way to mount a bike carrier on my 2016 Flagstaff Superlite TT. Due to the low ground clearance (14" rims) I couldn't relocate the rear bumper mounted spare underneath travel trailer. Tow vehicle is 2015 Ram 1500 4x2. Settled on the SC Bike Bunk plus Let's Go Aero BikeWing2 mounted as far back on front frame as possible so the bike bunk clears the propane bottle cover and maximizes distance between back of truck and bikes when turning. Success! I also made spacers ( bar stock from Home Depot cut down & painted black) which raised Bike Bunk up another 3/4" (every little bit helps!). My 26" wheeled bikes have 5.5" clearance above tailgate top. 29er's may only have 2.5". No issues on flat ground whatsoever; concern may be up & over curb turning into gas stations with 29ers (not tested yet). Hint: GoAero rack tilts forward so I use trailer electric front jack to lower the whole front of trailer down when loading & unloading bikes. Easy peasy no step ladder required! Bikes held solidly on rack. Instructions say to not use threaded hole for pin with 2" receiver - not possible given diameter of non-threaded hole plus screwing the hitch pin into rack & tightening with wrench made for a very stable, secure mounting. No issues after 5hr round trip. I believe instructions are in error. 578760

The bike rack is very adjustable accommodating different configuration bikes. The bikes can attached securely. The adjustable pads on the 'V' bars is a good addition. The rack does wobble about considerably, but this hasn't been a problem while traveling. It's light weight and can be quickly disassembled into three pieces that would fit in a trunk or rear storage area of a vehicle. It can be a little awkward fitting the bikes to the rack. 550988

Do you have a question about this Hitch Bike Rack?

  • Why is the Swagman XC Not Okay to Use With an RV
  • The reason why some bike racks and cargo carriers are rated for use at the rear of an RV or Trailer and others are not has to do with the fact that the ride is a lot more rough. Since there is more distance from the rear axle to the trailer hitch receiver on an RV or Trailer as opposed to a passenger vehicle, there is a lot more play. Because of this, manufacturers will test and approve which bike racks or cargo carriers can be used at the back of an RV or Trailer. The Swagman XC 2-Bike...

  • Why Yakima HoldUp Bike Rack Is Not Rated For RVs
  • Bike carriers that are designed to work on the rear of an RV are made so that they can take the additional stress at the back of the RV. Yakima does not recommend using the HoldUp Rack on RVs because a bike rack mounted on the rear of a motor home will be subject to more shaking and jarring than would be experienced when mounted in the receiver on a passenger vehicle. This is primarily caused by two factors, the distance between the rear axle of the RV and the receiver, and the stiffer...
