Hey Tom,

For your 2025 Subaru Outback I recommend the # DT73RR, Draw-Tite Class 3 Round Tube Trailer Hitch. It has plenty of tongue weight for bike rack use, especially your mountain bikes, and even more if you ever wanted to upgrade bikes in the future. It is also one of the easier to install hitches for that vehicle. It does not require bumper removal and is a no drill installation (see install video linked below).

There are a couple good bike rack options for you. For a more economically friendly option I would recommend # S64683, Swagman Chinook Bike Rack for 2 Bikes. This rack has a nice tilt away feature to allow access to the rear of the vehicle with the rack still on, as well as a fold up feature for storage on the vehicle when not in use. With a weight capacity of 45lbs per bike and a maximum tire width of 3.0" this is a great option for your 2 adult mountain bikes.

For a higher end option I would recommend # NV22B, Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes. This bike rack is a lightweight option with a higher weight capacity at 60lbs per bike. It has the same tilt away feature, but with a more accessible and ease of use foot pedal mechanism to engage it. It also has a add on # NA22B if you were to ever want to carry more than 2 bikes in the future. With adapters for larger size tires included, and a bike repair stand for fixing the ware and tear of the trails this is a great option.

If I had to choose I would go with the Swagman, # S64683, a more cost friendly option with similar features to those high end bike racks. Are there any specific features you are looking for in a bike rack?
