Features to know about

A Matched Kit That Simplifies the Install

When you're replacing your unit or setting up a rig for remote work or rough travel, the last thing you want is to guess which parts will fit. This kit gives you everything you need: a rugged rooftop unit, a ducted air distribution box, and a digital thermostat, all designed to work together. The ADB even comes with detailed, illustrated instructions so you can get it installed right the first time.

Consistent Cooling for Every Vent

This system moves air through your ceiling ducts to bring the temperature down quickly and keep it even throughout your RV. Whether you're parked on a dusty work site or tucked deep in the backcountry, it's built to keep delivering steady cooling. So, you walk in and the air feels dry, cool, and breathable, just the way it should.

Built for the Rough Stuff

Most rooftop ACs are designed for highways and campgrounds. Coleman-Mach's Roughneck units are different. They're braced and reinforced so they don't rattle apart when the road gets bad. A stabilizer ties the compressor and coil into a solid frame, the coil housing is steel instead of plastic, and a reinforced basepan keeps the whole unit from flexing. Add it all up and you get a unit that stays together through the vibration, bumps, and jolts that come with off-road travel.

Easy, Accessible Control at the Ceiling

The air distribution box gives you control right at ceiling level. Open the louvers for direct cooling into the cabin or close them to push air through your ducts. The slim, low-profile design gives you more overhead clearance, and the swing-open grille makes it easy to reach and wash the filter. No tools needed. Just pull, rinse, and snap it back into place.

Add Heat for Chilly Mornings

When the temperature drops, this system can be upgraded with a 5,600 Btu heat strip (sold separately). It's a quick way to take the chill out of the air without firing up the furnace, making it handy for shoulder seasons and early mornings.

  • Midsized Coleman AC Unit Kit For Camper That Runs Off Generator Power
Yes Derek - if your fifth wheel is ducted and you want to keep things practical, I’d look hard at the Coleman-Mach Roughneck Mach 3 # CM95RR. It gives you a full ducted replacement in the 13,500 Btu size, which can be a smart middle ground if your RV doesn’t really need a 15K unit. It also runs on 115/120V AC power, and that smaller 13.5K size can make more sense when you’re trying to be careful with generator use. If you want, tell me what fifth wheel and generator you have and I can...

  • Replacing 10 Year Old AC Unit In Travel Trailer - Should I Replace Unit Or Whole System?
Good morning Mark, at around 10 years old, I’d recommend replacing the whole system. These newer AC kits use R32 refrigerant, and newer AC components are not backward compatible with a lot of the older setups. On top of that, parts for older refrigerant systems are getting harder to find. If your trailer has ceiling vents throughout, a complete ducted system like the Coleman-Mach Roughneck Mach 3 # CM95RR is a solid option. If it does not have ceiling ducts and the air only blows out of...

  • Do New Coleman Mach AC Units For RVs Blow Air Through The Duct Vents?
Hey Kevin, these Coleman systems are for ducted RV units only, so the first thing to check is whether your current setup sends air through ceiling ducts and vents throughout the RV. If you’ve got multiple ceiling vents away from the AC opening, that’s usually your answer. If the air just comes straight out of the inside ceiling assembly at the unit and nowhere else, then that would be a ductless setup instead. Assuming yours is ducted, the nice part is that these Coleman-Mach ducted systems...

  • How Do I Know If My RV Has Ducted Or Ductless Air Conditioner System? Which New Coleman Unit Fits?
Hey Jared, that’s a really smart question because “ducted” and “ductless” gets tossed around a lot. In plain English, ducted means the AC feeds cooled air into ceiling ductwork that carries that air to vents throughout the RV. Ductless means the air blows right out of the inside ceiling assembly at the AC itself instead of traveling through ceiling ducts. A quick check is to look around your ceiling. Since you said you have several vents throughout the RV ceiling, you’re ducted. If there...

  • Will Heat Strip Help In Chilly Weather Camping Using Coleman Mach AC Units?
Hey Cheryl, I’d think of the Coleman heat strip # CM96RR as a comfort add-on, not a true furnace replacement. It’s a great option if you want to take the chill out of the cool mornings, but I would not count on it to do the same job as your RV furnace in genuinely cold weather. That applies across the ducted systems you’re looking at, including units like the Signature Mach 15 # CM52RR, Roughneck Mach 15 # CM65RR, Signature Mach 3 # CM83RR, and Roughneck Mach 3 # CM95RR. It’s a nice upgrade...

  • Is It Easy To Replace Old RV AC Unit With Complete Kit From Coleman Mach?
Hey Jared, these are about as straightforward as a full AC replacement gets because they’re complete matched systems. You will however need to hardwire the ac unit into the old wiring, as you would with any ac unit. So whether you go with the Coleman-Mach Signature Mach 3 # CM83RR or Coleman-Mach Roughneck Mach 3 # CM95RR (for more off-road use), you’re getting the rooftop unit, the ducted air distribution box, and the wall thermostat together. You’re not piecing parts together from different...

  • Looking For Complete AC System For Older Camper 5th Wheel Trailer That Had Ducted Vents
Hey Chris, for a 31-foot fifth wheel in the South, I’d lean toward a 15,000 Btu system, and in this group that would push more toward the Roughneck Mach 15 # CM65RR if you want the extra cooling capacity. If your old unit struggled in summer heat, moving up makes sense. Since you mentioned ceiling vents, it sounds like you have a ducted setup, and these Coleman kits are for ducted RV systems only. If your old unit kept up pretty well and you’re just trying to make a smart replacement,...

  • Is It Better To Replace RV AC Unit Or Replace Entire System With Thermostat?
Hey Mark, at around 10 years old, I’d usually recommend replacing the whole system instead of just the rooftop unit. These newer AC kits use R32 refrigerant, and the newer AC parts aren’t backward compatible with older systems, plus replacement parts for the older refrigerant setups are getting harder to find. If your trailer has a ducted setup with ceiling vents throughout the coach, a complete system like the Roughneck Mach 3 # CM95RR or Roughneck Mach 15 # CM65RR is the cleaner long-term...

  • Which AC Units Are Going To Draw Lowest Amperage For Off-Grid Camper With Generator?
Hey Steve, these all run on 115/120V AC power, and the draw depends on the model and conditions. The Signature Mach 3 # CM83RR is listed at 12.8 amps in mildly warm weather (85 degrees F), and the Roughneck Mach 3 # CM95RR is the same size and amp draw. On the 15,000 Btu side, the Signature Mach 15 # CM52RR and Roughneck Mach 15 # CM65RR are both listed at 13.9 amps draw in the same weather conditions. These are among the most efficient, lowest amp units out there. So there is a little...

  • Can Multiple Coleman Mach AC Units Be Controlled By Wireless Thermostat In RV?
Hey Brian! Yes, the WiFi Thermostat # CM46MR will work with the new ducted Coleman-Mach units like # CM52RR, # CM65RR, # CM83RR, and # CM95RR. Since those are the ducted kits that already use a wall thermostat, that’s where this add-on thermostat makes the most sense. If you want, tell me what RV you have and how many AC units you’re planning to run. And just to be sure, the ducted units are for RVs that have AC vents in the ceiling that carry air through the coach. If your RV does not...
