You can count on this Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver when you want dependable strength for towing or carrying gear. It’s rated for 4,000 lbs maximum gross trailer weight and 600 lbs maximum tongue weight. The 2" x 2" receiver opening works with most common ball mounts, bike racks, and cargo carriers. Whether you’re pulling a small trailer or adding extra cargo space, this hitch gives you the versatility you need for weekend trips or daily use.
This hitch is made from fully welded, powder coated steel that stands up to regular use and rough weather. The co-cured rust-resistant liquid A-coat combined with a high-gloss black powder coat finish keeps corrosion at bay. Robotic welding ensures every joint is precise and strong, so the hitch holds up over time without flexing or weak points. The round-tube design adds a clean look under the bumper while maintaining solid build quality.
There’s no need to drill or weld anything to mount this hitch. It’s engineered for a custom fit and bolts directly to existing holes in the vehicle’s frame. The complete hardware kit and clear installation instructions are included, so you can get it installed with basic tools in your driveway or garage. The open-back receiver makes it easy to keep dirt and debris cleared out once it’s mounted.
This hitch is tested for safety in accordance with SAE J684 standards and built to handle repeated load cycles safely. It includes lifetime technical support through etrailer.com, so you’ll always have reference materials on hand if you need them later. Once it’s installed, you’ll have a reliable connection point that’s ready whenever you need to tow, haul gear, or add more carrying options to your setup.

So far so good, local shop did the install for [XX]$, no wiring harness just for bikes. KIA dealership wanted $[XXXX], and uhaul didn’t have it yet in stock. This is a 2022 Carnival Prestige
Hitch is solid and well-made. Hardware was included and correct. Exhaust pipe made torquing the right side bolts difficult, needed just the right combination of extensions to reach it (the video could have warned about this better). Template dimensions for cutting the plastic panel worked great. Install video mentioned shaving excess sealant off bottom of trunk, but that didn't appear to be necessary on my van. etrailer's install videos and commentary add so much value to their products! It's great to step through the install before beginning so there are no surprises
Got a curt hitch for a 2025 Kia Carnival
Very fast shipping. Hitch went on perfectly
Took about 45 minutes to install over all extremely
Great product.
Thanks for the fast an excellent service
Just what we needed for our new Kia to haul some bikes on a camping trip. Installed in about an hour and no issues at all.
Easy install. Took about 1 hr by myself. I used two ramps, two jacks to hold hitch in place, flat head screw driver for exhaust hangar, socket wrench with a socket swivel. Cutting tool for driver side panel. Great quality hitch. Solid!!
The Curt hitch was received with some scratches from shipping. This was addressed with customer service. I would recommend upgrading shipping procedure so that these arrive in brand new condition. Installation was easy and the step by step guide was simple to follow and clearly written. Saved us a ton of packing headaches and arguments so well worth it and well fabricated.
Excellent all around
This hitch was so easy to install and is working great.
Fit and holds like a champ. Kia carnival 2025 hev
Easy install, bolts right into existing threaded holes in the frame. Dealing with the exhaust was a bit of a pain but nothing extreme.
Directions were clear and concise.
You can't go wrong with Curt products and you can't go wrong with etrailer. Both are top notch companies.
Fits well. It sticks out more than I had hoped but that’s how aftermarket hitches go
Start with great product and wire harness no complaints. The video instructions were very lacking in its explanation of installing the bolts above the tail pipe. I installed my hitch with a car lift in a garage and still it took over two hours to install the hitch with more than hours of it only on the tail pipe side. The bolts were extremely hard to reach and tighten. The videos need to do better.
I put off installing this forever because I thought it was going to be too heavy to do myself / difficult. I finally got around to it, and it wasn't bad at all. I installed on a 2025 Kia Carnival Hybrid.
A few things to know: I spent 30+ minutes just trying to get the exhaust off of the rubber gaskets, and I finally caved and spent $30 on an exhaust removal tool, which was 100% worth it (your local auto parts store should have one). Also, while it is heavy, I did complete the installation alone. To get the hitch in place, I propped up one side while I placed bolts on the opposite side, and then I gradually tightened and added more of the six bolts until it was totally in place. The two front passenger side bolts are very, very difficult to get tightened down to the 60 ft-lb torque spec with a standard torque wrench because the exhaust is in the way. The video recommends a crowfoot wrench, which I planned on buying, but after fiddling with various socket attachments, I was able to get both bolts torqued appropriately with some creative wrench angles. So it is doable!
As another reviewer commented, I do wish the hitch sat an inch or so higher so there wasn't a gap between the hitch and the rear bumper, but it isn't the end of the world for me. The Kia dealership wanted $1,200 to install the OEM hitch, so this was far preferable cost-wise!
great fit. looks good. When I installed it I removed the tail pipe, Two nuts and it was totally out of the way. Would recommend if your Carnival in nice and clean under there. Of coarse put it back when you are done.
This is my second hitch from etrailer. The first one was for my Honda Odyssey and it was quite nice and very easy to install.
This hitch was just as easy to bike in and considerably higher quality. The instructions which were included were fine, but both the video and the enhanced instructions on the website made this job a snap. Start to finish it took me 1 hour. Etrailer is the Crutchfield of hitches and racks. The value of these instructions and videos (and support) is unequaled. I would never buy from anybody else.
This is a premature review, as I haven't really tested the hitch or harness yet, but they installed easy enough and I'm sure they will perform great. I love etrailer's instructional videos, but I think two things that were omitted from the this video that would have helped to include:
1. Suggesting people take a look at the bolt holes and check for rust. The final two holes (the ones directly advice the tailpipe) were poorly rusted. I had to remove the hitch entirely in order to address the gunk in the holes, before mounting the hitch again.
2. If you're also installing a wiring harness, you need to do that BEFORE you re-attach the plastic underside cover (the connector and access is under that panel)

Good tips, Ryan! Thank you!
Custom fit was spot on!!!! I just put in my vehicle details and ordered the hitch that was suggested. Received it and had it installed in less than an hour, by myself!!!

One year in and this hitch is still running strong. We have towed items as small as a bike rack up to a several thousand pound trailer. The only thing Ive had to adjust was adding a riser for the ball. This is only because of how low the Kia Carnival sits.

There was an easier way to work with the exhaust that didn't require dropping the entire length. I'm not sure if this is just unique to the 2026 carnival hybrid but the section beyond the cat is a bolt on and can be easily removed with a 19m deep socket. Additionally trimming the sealant was completely unnecessary it is not that tight to fit.
Installed on 2025 Kia Carnival Prestige. Solid product. Final installed clearance from the bottom of the hitch to the ground is 8.25 inches. Only for my bike rack, so I'm happy. Looks good. Ordered on a Wednesday, received two days later on Friday.
Used 8.5" high Rhino ramps for the entire install. Need enough clearance to get to the second muffler hanger just forward of the rear tires. Total install time was about 2 hours.
A large portion of that time and the hardest part of the install is removing the hangers for the muffler. Tools specifically for this would have been helpful, but the instructions are clear about it. I used the open-end wrench and pry bar technique from the instructions and that worked. After that, getting it up into place and securing with the included washers and bolts was easy. Torqued 5 out of 6 bolts to specification. Last bolt (passenger side, farthest forward) requires a flat wrench or crowfoot as the hitch itself traps the muffler blocking socket access to that one. Dish soap sprayed on the muffler hanger pins made reinstallation of the hangers with bare hands easy.
Had considered the EcoHitch but went with the Curt because, after watching the entire installation video for both hitches, it was going to be way too much hassle to do the EcoHitch install. The extra ground clearance did not justify that, or the additional cost.
Installation video online was very helpful. Installed exactly as the instructions indicated.
Installation on a 2026 Kia Carnival was straight forward, the video on your sight was excellent. One caveat is torquing the bolts under the exhaust absolutely requires the 'dogbone' as it is called in the video. I tried using a universal (ball type) adapter on the 3/8 extension but it just twists off. Ordered the 3/8 inch drive 19mm torque adapter from Amazon. Waiting for delivery so I can finally get proper torque on the 2 bolts above the exhaust.
Great hitch mount. It is very secure. My only recommendation is to give consumers the option to buy an exhaust mount removal tool with the hitch. I would have done this because it is impossible to temporarily move the exhaust muffler and pipe. But it's not your fault that Kia made a poor design decision by placing the exhaust in the way of the frame mounting points. We were able to have our first of many family park bike rides. Extra bonus is that this mounts high enough that it does nor scrape when backing out of our driveway or on speed bumps like our previous hitch mount did on our old Toyota Sienna van.

Love hearing about your family bike outing! When's the next one coming up, Paul??
The hitch was delivered on time and excellent condition. I viewed the online instructions before the hitch arrived so I had all the right tools ready. The hitch was relatively easy to install and all bolt holes lined up perfectly. I did the job myself and didn’t have to jack up the van. I’m a 66 yr old with arthritis and completed the install in 2 hrs, it was 90 degrees out so I took some breaks.

Working great and no issues.
Robust, heavy duty, well made
Took about 1 1/2 hours to install
A jack, jack stands, cargo strap, long screw driver, 19mm socket with ratchet and wrench.
Went on my 2025 Kia Carnival Prestige HEV without a problem
I have a cargo rack and a 4x8 utility trailer for the hitch
