The receiver is made Very Well, great product. Now install; the fish wires where also awesome, glad there where four (1 for each Bolt) This made keeping the bolts seated as I raised the receiver in place. Bolts, they where a pain! The heads are way too big! You would have to enlarge the holes in the frame bigger than I felt comfortable with, so I ended up trimming down 2 opposite side of each bolt. Other than that Great product.
Second vehicle I have installed a hitch on from e-trailer. I installed this with one other person's help in about an hour and a half on my Mazda CX-30. Install was relatively easy, the two sample videos were excellent and I highly recommend removing the muffler entirely as suggested in one of the videos as it made widening frame holes and fitment incredibly easy. No rattling or rubbing, fit is perfect, all parts and instructions were included, and the hitch arrived very quickly. Always impressed with ease of install on these hitches.

No complaints after a year of service, expecting no issues for the life of the vehicle just like the previous hitch I installed from e-trailer.
I love this trailer hitch receiver. I have wanted one for a long time, but always thought they were too expensive. This item is extremely strong and sturdy, and was a great price from etrailer.

Its on my 2022 mazda cx-30, I have a 6ftx12 ft enclosed trailer that weights 1100lbs and have no issues. Highly reccomend.
The trailer hitch receiver arrived much sooner than anticipated and I had my mechanic install it on my new 2022 CX-30 Turbo Premium. Once mounted it felt very solid and technically fit perfectly. Unfortunately there was very little clearance between the angle piece on the left side of the hitch receiver and my muffler bracket (driver side of the mounted hitch receiver). This caused my muffler bracket to rattle against this hitch on the bumpy New England roads where I live, even at times when the car was just sitting in park and idling.
My last car (a 2014 VW GTI) had a Curt trailer hitch receiver and I had many good years of service from that part. It even included a rubber hitch receiver cover that was not included with this part for my 2022 CX-30.
I'm sure once my mechanic can grind away some of the hitch bracket to open up clearance between my muffler bracket and the hitch I will be rattle-free, but it is a little disappointing that out of the box this part does not have enough clearance to prevent muffler bracket rattle when idling or riding on bumpy New England roads.

You mentioned that you were experiencing rattling with the exhaust rubbing against the hitch. This happens from time to time and we have a great FAQ on how to eliminate the rattle which you can see in the link below.

Thank you for pointing me to your FAQ on how to address exhaust rattles. I will ask my mechanic to try longer rubber isolators as that would be a better solution than grinding away material. If I can correct my rattle through solutions identified in your FAQ I will update my rating on your website if that is possible.

after purchasing some muffler hanger extensions and having them installed, my Curt trailer hitch has not had any more problems with clanging or rattling. Ive been extremely happy with the trailer hitch over the last year.
etrailer has been excellent to work with. I do want to add comments about the specific installation of this rack though for a 2022 Mazda CX-30. Counting the holes as to which one to enlarge is deceiving. The paper installation manual states that if there is weather sealant over the one of the holes, to remove the sealant. It is evident there IS a hole in the frame that DOES have sealant over the hole. Do you count that hole when counting "the 3rd from the back? The answer is NO. But it is confusing since there appears to be a discrepancy between the videos and the paper instructions. The videos should be very clear that you should ignore the hole with the sealant over it!
The other issue is the air strip piece that attaches to the bumper. You DO have to modifiy it to allow enough excursion of the rack so the mounting plates of the rack will seat flush against the frame. This then will allow the mounting bolts to protrude through the holes well enough in order to get the nuts screwed on. If you force it, the air strip piece will deform as you tighten the nuts down (and probably break). This should be mentioned somewhere! I brought all the required tools to my son's place for him to help me, but the cutting of the air strip piece surprised us and I didn't have the tools to make the cut. I made it happen with the step down drill bit, but that is no way to do it. It scrapes some black coating off the hitch. At least we had spray paint around, used in the other part of this project! :)
Otherwise, a solid installation and I'm sure it will serve me well.

This is my 5th etrailer hitch, on a 5th vehicle. I have no complaints. Well made hitch, and easy to install.
Only once did I encounter moderate difficulty. I will purchase again when needed.
The hitch receiver has worked well. Towed a trailer about 900 miles with no issues. Also works nicely with our bike rack. I would but again. Nice touch to follow up.
Hitch appearance is very discreet. Installation was just as shown in product information. A friend and I did the installation without lifting the car off the ground.

Sweet! Got the arm workout in for the week I'm sure! :)
Delivery was quick. Article was of excellent quality. Installation was reasonably smooth. Only issue was I had to trim a small section of the air dam under the rear bumper for the hitch to fit into the proper position (see photo).
Just know that when you buy this product that you will have to remove the muffler and drill out a hole so you can attach the hitch. If you’re not experienced and handy with doing that then make sure you know someone who is before you buy the product. It’s seems to be sturdy for the price. You will need a special drill bit which I didn’t have and a drill as well as a socket set to remove the muffler bolts. Also you will need to jack up the back end so car jacks would be beneficial. I got it done in about 45 mins so not a huge deal but just know it’s not as simple as out of the box and tightening bolts. This is of course for a 2013 Mazda CX-30 so maybe your vehicle is easier. Also you will need an extra person to hold the hitch in place while u put on the bolts. The wire hangers that came with the product made it really easy to put the bolts into place so that was a huge plus.
Just what I need it was simple and easy instructions are easy to understand took 1 hr. to install and 2 hrs for the electrical harness item#C86CR this kit comes with everything you need very satisfied with the outcome my Mazda CX30 is ready for a road trip! Thank you etrailer!
I made the mistake of trying to save a day and a few bucks by ordering a receiver hitch from Amazon. It arrived damaged, even though the box appeared fine. I've then ordered the same hitch from etrailer, which arrived on the estimated date and in perfect condition! Customer service promptly answered my call, and the instructional video was detailed and model specific, making installation go smoothly. Will definitely shop here again!

I installed myself, and removing muffler made the job a lot easier. It did take 3-4 hours to install. Making access hole bigger took the most time.
Not everyone has a die grinder handy, however hitch fit perfectly. Adequate clearance with muffler ( no rubbing or noise)

I have a 2024 Mazda cx30 carbon turbo. Had to cut a notch out of rear plastic panel for hitch to fit flush. 2 inch square cutout so tow bar couldfit up into, I think, the rear bumper stay. Not noticeable unless eye level with hitch but thought it was worth noting since it prob added half hour of trying to wrestle into place before realizing cutting plastic was only option.
Overall great, however modifications to trim are necessary if you have a CX-30 Turbo. A vertical piece of trim going along the bottom of the bumper (presumably to block the view of the larger muffler) will need to be trimmed to fit the receiver up into.
I highly recommend removing the muffler. Doing so will give you the room and access to enlarge the holes and install the hitch.
Installed on 2023 Mazda CX-30.
Both mounting arms were really bent. Thankfully, I managed to straighten them to be able to mount the hitch.
Pretty solid and quality product.
It arrived in 2 days in perfect condition will install it this weekend and update looks like a quality part
