When you’re hauling serious weight, you need a hitch that won’t flinch. This Curt Class V XD receiver is rated for up to 17,000 lbs gross trailer weight and 2,550 lbs tongue weight. It keeps the full rating even when used with a weight distribution system, so you don’t lose capacity when you add sway control or leveling gear. The square-tube design gives it extra backbone for big campers, heavy equipment trailers, or commercial loads that demand more from your setup.
You don’t need a lift or special tools to get this hitch mounted. It bolts directly to the frame using the included hardware kit and lines up with existing holes for a clean fit. The precision robotic welding ensures everything stays square and strong once it’s in place. With no drilling or welding required, it’s a straightforward DIY project that still ends with a rock-solid connection.
The hitch is fully welded steel with a black powder coat finish over a protective base layer. That dual coating resists chips and corrosion from road salt, rain, and grime. Whether the hitch lives under your truck year-round or sees constant use hauling gear and trailers, the finish helps keep rust away so it keeps looking good and working hard.
The 2" x 2" receiver opening gives you flexibility for whatever towing setup you run. It works with ball mounts, cargo carriers, bike racks, or any other standard 2" accessory. The high weight ratings mean you can switch between heavy towing and everyday utility without worrying about pushing your hitch too far.

Have not installed yet. Good delivery time. The cardboard box was destroyed and the receiver was slightly scratched
Easy install ( my bumper was already off because of my flat bed )fit perfectly. looks much more robust then Reese hitch's from the early 2000's. I noticed I had a hairline crack at a weld probably from all the road salt in NY on my old hitch .
Excellent hitch, looks good.Allows me to tow my 10K dump trailer.Super easy 2 person swap with a floor jack. Wife drove the floor jack.
Box was severely damaged in transit, but the hardware kit was securely taped to the hitch itself, which is good. Not surprising for an 80 lb steel piece wrapped in cardboard. Four stars because, despite being a 'direct fit' for my truck, the hitch interfered with an existing mounting screw on the frame rails that could not be relocated, so I had to grind some clearance in the mounting flange of the hitch. While it was a relatively minor inconvenience for me, it could be a show-stopper for someone without the proper tools to make the modification. Also, this hitch does not come drilled for the OEM receptacle bracket. etrailer recommended a strap-on option in one of the question responses that allowed me to bolt my existing bracket to it, but the band clamp that came with it was not large enough to go around the massive tube on this hitch. I was able to use a stainless steel 6" diameter hose clamp from the local big box store to clamp it on... Just barely.
Half the price of the local shops, super fast shipping, and in the end, it works great!
Installed very easy. Very stout. Poor box it was shipped in was beat up. Could have expanding foam to keep the hitch from moving and beating up box. As stated in some reviews, the stock location for the electrical connection for the trailer could not be used. I just drilled a hole in the bumper above stock location to mount the trailer plug. This will keep the plug out of the way. See picture.
This hitch receiver was a direct fit for my 2000 F250. It took about 40 minutes to complete the whole job, and I definitely recommend having a helper. Other wise the job would have taken much longer.
I was amazed at how much bigger the curt receiver hitch is compared to the factory hitch. Definitely worth the purchase.
Wrong size. I need a 42 inch wide hitch. Not 36.
All appears great. But I have not gotten to the installation point on the project yet.
Came damaged and scatched up, had to keep it. Didn't have choice needed it badly.
The hitch receiver looks good. I used it to replace my factor Ford F350 hitch receiver for higher tongue weight ratings. Note that this hitch does not come with mounting holes for the factory wiring bundles that the factory hitch receiver had for wire attachment devices. I had to drill my own.
Also note that the etrailer shipping box was not well prepared. My hitch box came with holes and parts of the hitch sticking out. Luckily everything was there and no significant damages or scratches. etrailer really needs to improve their shipping process. No padding or wrapping inside the box to prevent this shipping damage was inside.
Delivery was supposed to be on Friday, did not come until Saturday and had to postpone our trip a day. I'm sure the hitch is nice, just disappointed it did not show up on time.
The fit & finish was great, just that the box, or what was left of it didn't fair to well. The hitch seemed to have been undamaged though.
Curt makes quality hitch components. I cant wait to get it installed on my truck. E-trailer also had the best price for this exact hitch receiver and saved me $200
The install went well. Be prepared to move your spare tire ahead about 6 inches. Perfect fit, looks way tougher than what was on there.
Very fast shipping and got installed without any issue. Very happy with the product.
It was an exact fit. I'm 60 and with a couple of jack stands I had it in stalled in less than an hour. Instructions didn't mention it but I also used blue loctite on the bolts and the 7 pin/4 pin connector did not have any holes to connect it so I drilled 2 holes 1/4" into the hitch used original bolts and a nut driver to get them in place. Most people would not have that mechanical knowledge so in future there should be pre drilled holes for that. Overall good experience.
Great hitch and easy to install. I towed a loaded 24 ft. And the hitch performed flawlessly
Price is perfect, shipping was fast! As others have noted, the box arrived a little beat up. But that is to be expected with a heavy chunk of steel inside a cardboard box. Contents were packaged so there is no chance of missing parts.
Installation wasn’t bad. Use a large breaker bar or a heavy duty impact wrench to remove factory bolts. 350,000+ mile F350 from the rust belt came off with some muscle. This hitch lines up perfectly utilizing the Ford factory centering nubs.
One thing to note is that this hitch will require lowering your spare tire as it has a straight square tube instead of Ford’s factory bent tube that wraps around the spare tire. See pictures.
Installation for me took a little over 1 hour due to a lost security key for the spare tire winch. Ended up deciding to cut the winch cable and replace the winch. With a heavy duty impact wrench and the ability to lower your spare tire, complete installation should take no more that a half hour.

Fantastic!
Sturdy! It came in a teared box but all hardware is there, smart way of packing the bolts! I think is double the size of the Ford one I had on. It took a while to take the old one down, the Curt is straight forward in mounting, took 45min with drilling (yes you need to drill the 2 holes for the outlet support, use self tapping screws, is faster). Its heavy, I put myself on the creeper and with the hitch on my belly went under the car with 2 long zip ties. Secured left first, and right after, the holes close to the bumper. The hitch will stay in position... because phisics. Then applied blue lock threader on bolts and... easy peasy. Torqued to 150ft/lbs. Done. The spare tire it will fit just fine.
The hitch fit my Ford F250 superduty with plenty of clearance for the spare tire.
The factory hitch had rusted completely through. This hitch from e-trailer looks like it will outlast my truck. The construction is far superior to the factory hitch. I was concerned that it would hang down and look silly since it doesn’t have the same contour of the bumper as the factory hitch does. But this hitch fits nicely under the truck and looks like it belongs there. Installation was simple with the included hardware and instructions.

I think the install looks great! Great job.
This is a great replacement for the factory hitch on my 2011 F-250 Super Duty Crew Cab short bed truck, except it doesn't have all of the holes needed to attach the factory wiring harness (3 holes missing) or the trailer plug bracket (2 drilled and tapped holes). I drilled (17/32") and tapped (m8-1.25) the two holes needed for the trailer plugs, so they're back in place just fine. For the wiring harness, I just zip tied it in place for now. In my experience that will last about 3-5 years where it's at. Also, my factory sized full size spare just barely fit. When lifting the tire back into place you do have to push the tire back and forth to make sure you get it in just the right spot. See the pictures to see how much clearance there is - around 1" total.
There also was a hole that should've been drilled or a cutout that should've been included for the head of one of the bolts that holds in the charcoal (EVAP) canister. Because this wasn't included, the frame rail got bent when torquing down the nuts for this hitch. I included a picture of this as well. This item, more than any other small gripe I had above, is what cost this product one star.
I can also state that this fits well under the Ranch Hand Ford Sport Back Bumper that came on my used truck.
All in all though, I really like the hitch and I think it'll do great for the next thing I need to tow - a 90's 1/2 ton truck on a rental bumper pull vehicle trailer.
Very pleased with the hitch and fast shipping. I installed by myself in less than an hour. My pics show how to use 3 pieces of rope to lift and hold without hardly any physical lifting on my part. One rope at the rear up to the bumper a one on each front bolt hole to the front bolt hole in the truck frame. Just keep shortening the ropes until it’s tight to the frame and install bolts. Very easy. Factory spare tire still fits.

Great! Very pleased.
I didn't find any information on this site regarding if this would fit under a ranch hand bumper replacement. But luckily it did. It mounted right up as stated. I believe my spare tire is stock, and that also fit right back into place. The hitch has much more beef to it than stock. I haul a lot of different heavy trailers, both bumper pulls and goosenecks, can't wait to see how this unit works out.

This is a great hitch. Very sturdy, gives great peace of mind. This hitch can handle a heavier trailer than the truck could.
