The Hitch fits perfectly with my Kuat 2.0. got my bikes and got up to Coloma CA. Heart of the Gold Rush.
I needed a hitch for my bike rack and this looked to be just the ticket. I was aware that the muffler would need to be lowered in order to fit the hitch.
I jacked up the rear passenger wheel and put it on a concrete block to give me about 4 extra inches of clearance to work with. The drivers side wheel was on the ground. Getting the rubber muffler mounts off was the most difficult part of the installation. After much cursing trying to push the rubber mounts off I pushed a fine flat blade screwdriver between the rubber and steel mounts and lubricated with dish soap - voila - off they came. Leave the innermost rubber attached to the car, the outer most to the muffler - they go back on very easily that way. You do not need to bend the heat shield, the hitch will slide under it. I was a bit dubious about cutting the plastic tray for the driver side mount but here's how i did it. 18mm socket to undo the 4 plastic bolts - then 10mm to get the small bolt on the driver side and a philips screwdriver to get the two screws out by the rear bumper on the drivers side. - Measure carefully and mark the area to cut away - mine was about 5 inches long and 4 inches wide - I used a spiral saw on my Dremel and sanded the cut edge smooth. I then remounted the plastic tray before attaching the hitch. The supplied fishing wires worked great and it was easy to get the bolts into the holes in the frame. start with the passenger side making sure not to trap the rubber muffler mount - then do the u-bolt on the tow point then the driver side frame bolt - torque them all up and put the muffler back on - the outside rubber goes back onto the car very easily the inner on is a bit harder but soap helps.
Took me about an hour total - most of which was repeated measuring and marking before I cut the rear underbody plastic tray.
All in all a nice product and it looks really neat.

No problems at all with the hitch. Its easy to get my bike rack on and off the car and to mount and unmount my bike rack and is very secure. Carried 2 bikes on a 4000 mile road trip without any issues. The hitch is very unobtrusive when not in use. I would appreciate any other users feedback on the suitability of this hitch for a small trailer for hauling stuff from the DIY stores - i.e. Ball fittings and wiring harness extensions suitable for the HR-V

The product was like described in the advertisement - relative easy to install, study, and looks very neat attached to the car. It would have been easier if it were on a lift but I did not access to one so it had to be done from the ground. My 80 year old friend installed the receiver and it took just under an hour to install and looks great all hooked up and attached to the car. Very pleased with this product. Would highly recommend this product

Looks great, Sheila! Going to be haulin anything fun with the hitch?
Installation was on a 2022 Honda HR-V AWD and it went very well without any problems. It took me a little over an hour the hardest part of the install was getting the rubber muffler mounts back on. The instructions included with the hitch along with watching one of the install videos on website are very well done! Would recommend Curt/Etrailer to anyone!
See pics one with bike rack and one without.

No complaints here, great product!
This thing has some weight to it! It's very study and I love it! I initially got a 1 and 1/4 in hitch, but glad I decided to return and get the 2in hitch, especially because I may be supporting 2 e-bikes in the future. I took my part to a local RV place based on etrailer.com's local installation lookup. It only took approx 2 hrs to get professionally done, I made sure the local place was also strong in reviews. It's been a week so far since I've had this installed, no problems. The bike rack that I bought was from 1up USA super duty double. I tested the setup at fairly high speeds since I live in California and no issues with keeping everything secure. Carol and Tammie was super helpful and awesome in making sure I got the right part. The local install suggestion also made sure they gave me a accurate estimate and made sure I got the right part for my needs. I am thankful my friend showed me this website and I bought my hitch from here. Thank you etrailer!
Very happy with my purchase! I don’t do mechanic work... but between the instructions provided and the installation video, I felt super comfortable taking care of this myself by borrowing my dad’s tools and garage.
This hitch receiver looks as flush and minimal as it possibly could on my 2016 Honda HR-V. I don’t think it looks aftermarket or conspicuous. I’m still waiting to see what it looks like with my new bike rack, which is on backorder (due to Covid-19), but I’m sure it’s going to be MUCH better than my old strap-on trunk rack.
Prompt delivery. This is a quality tow hitch for a good price. The installation was a breeze and fits perfect on my 2016 Honda Hr-v Ex-L AWD.

Yes! We did it! Thank you for the kind words. I can't help to notice your name and I am assuming you are in the Pacific Northwest. So beautiful! Have you been to St. Helens?
This is the third hitch I have purchased from etrailer. The hitch is a high quality product for a fair price. It took me a little longer but I am 65 and slower now. Made in the USA! I bought one in 2014, 2019, and 2024. I highly recommend your products to anyone I hear talking about hitches. Excellent customer service, excellent quality, and easy to install. The car dealership wanted 1,000 to install one. I did it for roughly 225. Keep up the great service.

Hi Daniel, thank you for your repeated business and great feedback! Way to get the job done and save some money too!! Are you using your hitch to tow?

Hitch has been great. I’ve had it for a year now. Has worked flawlessly. There was one bushing that I found impossible to get on initially, but this hasn’t caused any problems. I would recommend this product, felt the price was very reasonable and it is durable quality.
I installed the hitch in 30min without having to lift the car. The video was all I needed for instruction. This is the second hitch I have purchased for one of my vehicles they have gone on without a hitch pun intended. Thanks for a great product.

That's our favorite pun, Jim!
Quick shipping, quality of product is great and installation was easy, only takes about 5 -10 mins to install if you’re not [incapable] and able to comprehend basic instructions.
Man, that was easy. It took me about 20 minutes. The video was spot on and straight forward. Had a 2nd hand to hold it up while I started the nuts onto the bolts. Hardest part was re-hanging the exhaust. (Use lube and a pry bar). This was on an AWD so no trimming.
Easy to install. Install video was extremely helpful. Did it by myself, but can see how it would be easier with two people.
Great product, and very well planned installation on a brand new HR-V. The video indicated I would have to bend the muffler heat shield a little, but I installed that bolt/side first and let it lever the room it needed (practically none). I would say that getting inboard rear muffler isolation mount back on would be tough for a lot of people, as it was a tight space and required a great deal of prying - muffler backwards and rubber mount downwards.
I also purchased an adapter to go from 1-1/4" to a 2" receiver with a 4-1/2" rise, and this made using my existing 2" flat rack and bike rack immediately usable on this vehicle. The measurements suggested it would be a close fit, and the adapter was either just touching the plastic bumper (we don't want rub marks!), or about a 1/16" away from it. I ground off about 1/8" from the top tapered down about 3/4" and it's perfect.

Thanks - still love it - using it next week!
Shipped fast. Instructions ok. Feedback is to tell rookies to leave rubber muffler hanger, the one closest to middle, on the upper hook and only unhook from the muffler hook , otherwise after installing the hitch one cant re-hook the rubber on the upper hanger as it is blocked by the hitch. Also, the passenger side fish wiring was harder due I think to a bigger rail and or something causing wire to travel up and unable to see in bolt hole. Used electr. wire thru small bolt hole back to bigger hole then taped to fishwire and pulled thru easily.
Really though it was fairly easy and fit well looks good and low profile.

Still like it. Would suggest thinking about second hitch pin hole so canpush deeper in, more stable
Well i got this shiped and it arrived the next day! Like they said it would. It sets on and attaches just as they said it would and was incredibly easy to get ready for our adventures!!!
This is my second Curt trailer hitch. The first stayed with the car I sold, but worked very well. They are exactly as advertised, and mine was VERY easy to install. I did it myself in about 40 minutes--that's backing my HRV up onto the ramps, to everything put away and washing my hands. Dealing with eTrailer was smooth and easy, and fast.

Its been a year since I installed the class I hitch on my Honda HRV. performs perfectly and the powder coat finish still looks great. last fall I bought another hitch from etrailer for my new Honda CRVa type II this time. Same experience. Very easy to install with the kit they provide, and the videos show everything you need to see. Very pleased with the product and support from these folks!
There was a bit if a delay in shipping due to Curt being overwhelmed by orders. They were the first to offer a hitch for the 2016 Honda HR-V. I was kept well informed by etrailer with multiple progress e-mails. I installed the hitch myself and it fit perfectly. The included instructions were a bit blurry but I already downloaded a copy from their website that was crystal clear. I would highly recommend etrailer to anyone in need of a hitch!

To John G.: I had the hitch installed on my 2016 HRV by a local shop that has a car-lift. The shop had to remove the plastic splash under-carriage panel to install the hitch and were not able to re-mount this panel after installing the hitch. I think because the access to the panels fittings being blocked by the hitch. Did you experience the same situation? I dont want to trash that plastic splash / under carriage panel until I know it definitely cannot be installed if the hitch is properly installed.
The trailer hitch was relatively easy to install. I did find that I needed to modify the heat shield over the muffler in a different spot then indicated in the instructional video. I am giving this a low rating because the attachment bolt/nut has such a small clearance above the muffler that the muffler rattles against it (Yes, I made sure to use the shorter bolt on this side of the car). I can not think of an easy fix, but also cannot remove the hitch and attachment bolts. The rattle goes away after a minute or two of driving, but it is likely to wear a hole in the muffler in a short period of time. I am thinking of looking to see if there are slightly larger muffler hangers that will lower the muffler ~1/4 inch.

Thank you for your review. This is exactly what we suggest to people who have this problem. Changing the muffler hangers should do the trick.
El hitch llego bien y se instalo el mismo dia. Quedo exactamente como deberia. Podrian mejorar las instrucciones de instalacion, pues requirio de leerlas varias veces y verlas en el sitio de Curtis.
[Translation: The hitch arrived well and settled the same day. I remain exactly as I should. They could improve the installation instructions, since it required to read them several times and to see them in the site of Curtis.]

Perfect! no chips or dents. solid as the first day.
I have not installed it yet so no comment on how easy or hard that is.I am dissapointed that this did not come with a rubber hitch cover.....I did not see this when I bought the tow bar..Its only $x.xx and would be better to be included and put on my invoice.....

I put the 118673 wiring kit and a Curt Hitch receiver on a 2019 Honda HRV All Wheel drive and How can one not love it when you get done and it all works like it is supposed to. The Curt hitch almost hides at the back of the vehicle. My wife didn't notice it until I told her it was already installed.
Keeping in mind, the times suggested are for a “PRO” who has a hoist to put the vehicle on and it will take the DIYer a bit longer. The only “real problem” that I had was that with the torque wrench I have, (one brought over on the Mayflower) I was unable to get enough swing to use it on the nut up above the muffler so after tightening the driver side nut, I then used a box-end and using the feel needed to tighten it a bit more, I used that feel to tighten the passenger side above the muffler. Even at 75 years of age and with vertigo, I still have the ability to turn an hour job into a 5 hour job and now my wife understands why I did not want her to sell my ramps, jack-stands and other things she thought an old man shouldn't need. Chidding aside, the videos accessed from etrailer were very good and very helpful. First, because I am “cheap” I was not going to pay over $400 to have a hitch installed, almost $500 for one that was not visible when not in use when the rear differential on the AWD HRV was visible from behind anyhow. I was also not going to pay to use a hoist so I just borrowed a set of ramps using them first under the rear wheels and then under the front to complete the installation of the power lead from the vehicle battery to the trailer lite converter box. A couple suggestions; the first, is do not take the fish wires off of the bolts before you have the hitch up in place. I thought that the hitch was light enough that I could put it up there, hold it in place and start the nuts but as luck would have it, one of the bolts ended up inside the frame. Not wanting it in there to rattle around I had to find a magnet small enough to fit through the hole used to fish the bolt into place and using a stiff enough piece of wire to be able to move the magnet effectively I manage to recover the bolt. Then I had to “RE-form” the fish wire to use it again to fish the bolt into place again. The second suggestion is that I used a lot more Zip-ty's than were supplied because we live in snow country and I did not want snow and ice hanging from the power lead and bringing it down lower and possibly getting damaged during our winters and I also put the power lead inside a flexible vinyl tubing which took a bit of creative pursuation to get 20 feet of wire into a 3/8 in flexible vinyl tubing but I think the extra protection the lead will have is worth the effort. And finally, if you remove a cargo area light from the cargo area side panel to get extra room behind the side panel, one has to make sure you have put it back into its place of mounting or you will have to take the rear door threshold and side panel loose again to get your cargo area light back into its proper place.
Never put on transmission went out on c ar
Curt Trailer Hitch: This is an excellent trailer hitch. Took it to Pep Boys to have it installed and it was only $35 for installation. Service was quick and efficient. I would recommend this product and etrailer products, in particular. Don't wait, buy this trailer hitch from etrailer!
