A solid Class I hitch like this opens the door to hauling extra gear or a small trailer without hassle. With a 2,000 lb maximum gross trailer weight and 200 lb tongue weight rating, it’s built for light towing or carrying a bike rack or cargo carrier. The 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver fits most Class I accessories, so you can haul tools, camping gear, or weekend toys with confidence.
This hitch is made for a straightforward install using factory mounting points and common tools. The bolt-on design means no welding is required, and the complete hardware kit is included so you can get it done in the driveway. Precision robotic welding ensures the hitch lines up exactly where it should for a snug fit and secure connection every time.
The sturdy square-tube frame is fully welded for strength and stability when towing or carrying gear. A gloss black powder coat finish over a protective base layer fights off rust and corrosion for long-term durability. It keeps its clean look even through tough weather and road grime, so you don’t need to worry about deterioration over time.

Fit on my car great, I expect this hitch to perform as I want. Curt hitches haven’t let me down yet

Simple to install. Does the job perfectly. Simple easy to follow instructions. 25 minutes job and done.
We used the trailer Hitch on vacation. It worked well.
Great Product!
I was skeptical at first looking at the directions, thinking there's no way this is going to work... much to my surprise & delight, no more than a half hour later I had a well fitting sturdy hitch on my vehicle!
Well made & highly recommend.
Will all I can say is it's a well-built good-looking product. It was very easy to install. And easy to wire it up.follow the instructions that you get am 71 years old and I did it All in 45 minutes.
When I was ordering this product customer service went out of their way to help me in any way they could.
I would recommend this company to anyone they are very pleasant people to do business with.and the shipping was right on time
I bought this hitch for a 2005 Ford Focus Sedan "SE". The instructions say it won't work on the SE model, every brand says that, so I bought it knowing it might not and it fit just fine! I'm sure it was for the other SE versions with more ground effects(?). The hitch was easy to install. It took me just 30 mins from the time I walked outside until I was testing the lights on a trailer. Everything was just perfect Great price and quick shipment
Hi,Only one hole lined up on the passenger side.so I employed a 1/2"stainless steel U-bolt that worked.Other than that it seems well made.
Worked great for my application. Installation was extremely easy on my 2005 Ford Focus ZX5 hatchback. Works well with my bike rack.
I've used Curt trailer hitches on a few different vehicles now and they have never failed me. This one has been no exception. Total flawless since day of install.
Installation of the hitch went perfect (with minor adjustments). Trailer wiring went just as smooth. However, an end clip and self tapping screw supplied by the company would have been nice. I haven't used the hitch or wiring as of yet. Will write another review once used.
Had to change a few things about it as the width was 1/4" too narrow to fit according to instructions. Basically, I took out the frame spacer on the passenger side, which might not be excellent but it's how we got the product to fit. I placed the spacer on the nut side and it's all good. Also, the upper bolt hole was a little off laterally (better with the spacer hack to get it all to fit, but still off) so it took a lot of strength to flex it to fit. Got it all torqued down and it's a great hitch now and great looking.
One thing that's cool about this hitch is that it has a Class II tongue type with no stop in the rear like a lot of Class I hitches, which means it's compatible with all the 1-1/4" bike racks. Awesome!
I got a email from etrailer. asking how i like my hitch ive owned it for a year. I never did install that hitch on that car. But i can say ive bought many things from this store. The customer service is incredible. All there product has been 100% accurate. Review long time over doing thank you very much
Used on my 2007 focus hatchback. No wiring adapter needed for 3 wire to 2 wire conversion like my last car. Simple to install. Some spacers and 4 bolts 1/2" x 2" to bolt in place on the tow hooks. One hole needed to be drilled 1/2" drill bit required. There is already a hole there that is 1/4" it just needs to be enlarged. This took me about 30 minutes and it took me 10 minutes to find the drill battery. Wiring took an additional 30 minutes. I tested the hitch and lights on my 4x8 trailer. Only con is the euro hitch is no longer one piece. The shaft is pinned to the ball and wiggled just a bit. My previous euro hitch was entirely one piece. This makes the hitch assembly more noisy.
Happy to report that etrailer fixed the rattle after I installed the Curt hitch for my Ford Focus. I wanted the Curt hitch because the end collar looks cleaner, with the plate on the bottom of the hitch, instead of on top. After I installed it by myself, with some helping with drilling the single hole, it had an annoying rattle. I discovered that the muffler was hitting the hitch. I just took it in to etrailer (Wentzville) and it took them five or ten minutes to fix the rattle. They were very professional and courteous about the entire problem, and charged me nothing for the service. It's a big relief not hearing the rattle. All is well now. Thanks etrailer!
Hitch fit right, installation directions spot on, shipping was fast and easy, now my son can put his $7,000 mountain bike on the back of his $700 car!

Still works to haul the bicycles. I had to re-hang the cheap aftermarket exhaust because it hit the hitch when the car was in reverse. I blame the exhaust, since it was a POS and a major pain to install. lots of hammer work...
This is the second hitch from etrailer that I have purchased and installed. First was for a 2014 Smart ED that was a breeze to install. The second one was for a 2004 Ford Focus LX and it took less than 30 min to install. Happy with both the quality and fit of both hitches.

I have enjoyed the hitch. It is solid and works very well.
As always I received a quality hitch. Shipped fast and packed very well. Took twenty minutes to install. Can't wait to use it to carry my mobility chair. Thanks
Great product, great service, and good timing
Shipping was fast! Great quality, very easy half HR install. Fit perfect except for the hole where the bolt drops down. Used a drill to reem it out a hair and boom done!! Plan on putting a cargo rack on for hunting, should work great. Instructions were a little confusing but YouTube took care of that lil prob. Thanks!!
Should do the trick. I plan to use this for a bike carrier and pull a small trailer, if I ever buy one. Installation probably took 40 minutes by myself, including gathering tools. Would’ve been about 15 with an assistant and my tools more accessible. Installing this with the vehicle on the ground while doable will make it difficult to torque the bolts. I used blue locktite as good measure for keeping the bolts from backing off. Video really helped with showing how to get the bolt through the frame on the passenger side.
The quality of the this Curt Hitch is exceptional. Sturdy construction and professional welds makes this a good looking and functional hitch. As you can see by the pictures the installed hitch looks good. Great for towing my bicycles around, and I can add a variety of tow accessories if I need them.
I purchased the hitch to pull a small 4x8 trailer for hauling lumber. Everything arrived on time and in good condition. The only difficulty I had installing it was with the muffler getting in the way and pushing a couple of holes out of alignment, but installation went smoothly after I got the muffler to stay out of the way. It has been very reliable over the past year and I have not had any problems with it.
i wanted a light duty hitch for our Focus Hatchback so we could mount a bike rack. I chose the Curt 11294 carried by etrailers. The hitch came quickly and was obviously very well made. The Instructions seemed direct and self explanatory. All the parts were in the box INCLUDING the fishing tool needed to snake through a frame carriage bolt. The 30 minute install time took us 2 hours. Some of that was my fault using a spacer where I didn't need one. Another delay was us having to redo the hitch bolts so we could mount the driver's side first, because the rear silencing chamber was in the way. That tip was not in the Instructions. However, the manufacturer Curt including the fishing tool was great because it worked the first time! What I thought would be the hardest part of the job was the easiest. Just make sure you have on hand a sharp 1/2" drill bit and a drill with a chuck large enough to fit it. Sounds obvious - and we did - but our bit was a bit dull.... Still, we got there. All in all, I consider this to be a great product and I highly recommend it. Once mounted, the hitch is quite unobtrusive. And the thick black paint makes it look good.

It is important to install and use all the hardware just how the manufacturer describes, as any modification to the install could compromise the integrity of the hitch. It sounds like hitch was flexed in the shipping and transit process, as it should be lining up because it is a confirmed fit for your vehicle. I have attached a link to our help article that has a few different ways outlined on how to do that.
