Question:
Can’t find a hitch for Ford Focus 2006 that is class 3 for a wheelchair carrier for my handicapped daughter that will help us get her around to places. We have to break the wheelchair down and back if we go out to a few places and it is hard enough lifting her and putting her in and out. This would make it where we don’t have to keep breaking the chair up and down in between destinations and could just take her out of car and roll chair to her instead of breaking down every time and putting chair in and out of the trunk. The carrier I have found calls for a hitch that is class 3 or better. Car: 2006 Ford Focus zx5 ses

Your 2006 Ford Focus ZX5 SES does not have a hitch that is rated past 200 lbs tongue weight or class 1 with the 1-1/4 inch receiver based on the way the vehicle is made and its capacities. My recommendation is the 19x47 Curt Cargo Carrier # C18110 which weighs 30 lbs. The weight of the carrier needs to be subtracted from the 200 lb hitch capacity to give you the remaining cargo capacity for the wheelchair.
For your trailer hitch, I recommend the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # 24692 over the Curt # C11294 simply because it doesn't require the stability strap # 18050 like the Curt hitch does.
If the wheelchair is heavier, then you'd need to use a trailer for transport.
