This Curt trailer hitch receiver lets you take on towing and hauling with confidence. With a 2" x 2" receiver opening and Class III rating, it’s built to handle a 5,000 lbs maximum gross trailer weight and 500 lbs tongue weight. When used with weight distribution, it supports up to 6,000 lbs GTW and 600 lbs TW. Absolute must have if you are looking for a hitch. Install is a dream with everything that comes with this kit and I was able to do it alone if you can't find anyone to help.
Not hard to attach, the fishing wire tool is neat. Hardest part is the wiring.

Great fit. This was a replacement for one that got bent when I was rear-ended with a trailer on. The hitch absorbed most of the damage.
Well made trailer hitch. Easy to install, I used a motorcycle jack to set the hitch in place . The fish wire worked perfectly. All bolt holes align to the FJ Cruiser chassis.
Excellent product. It fits great; as advertised. The wire to install the two carriage bolts really helped out. I installed it myself with a floor jack in about 45-50 minutes. It looks great; now I need wire up a connector.
I installed the hitch in about 1 hour. It fit perfectly and looks great. I am extremely satisfied. The fish wire technique was was very easy after my wife helped me with the directions. I will be pulling a trailer to New Mexico this month so the hitch will be well used. I am also very happy that I got my hitch in just a few days. Great company to deal with.

This hitch has worked great on my 2010 FJ Cruiser. I had it professionally installed, and it has been sturdy and reliable. I use it primarily to mount a bike rack, but plan to use it in the future for other trailer applications.
I had the opportunity to purchase the Curt trailer hitch from either another site or etrailer. I chose etrailer even though it was $8.84 more but liked the online video and thought I might get better service or questions answered if I had problems. The results far exceeded my expectations.
1. I noted in my 'Customer Satisfaction" questionnaire (email) etrailer that the other site was less. - Received a response from etrailer within 12 hours requesting information and they would study the source. Never thought I would receive a comment on that. (See below)
2. Received an email notifying the date shipped.
3. etrailer sent me email that records show it was delivered and if I was satisfied.
I didn't even know it was delivered , It was.
4 Very impressed with the shipment. Much thought was put into the box
packaging to avoid damage.
5.Received a reimbursement for the price difference.
With conscientious service like this I know I made the correct choice between etrailer and the 900# gorilla. Even without the reimbursement.

The Curt hitch is constructed very exact. 1/8" off and you have issues with mounting holes. Double check hole alignment with frame prior to mounting. Mine was slightly bent in shipment and I had to remove it for the minor straightening.

This product fits the FJ Cruiser like a glove. I had a notion that my wife and I could install in the driveway with the help of a floor jack. I was wrong, but only due to the weight and size of the hitch. I took it to a shop where they were willing to let me do the work with the car on a lift and the owner, being so into the work and excited about putting a hitch on, ended up doing most of the work. It took 15 minutes at the most. I highly recommend watching the install video on this site. All the holes lined up perfectly. The wire 'feeders' for those two bolts work great. Have already towed a large trailer full of firewood. I think it enhances the look of the rear of the FJ. You see the entire beefy hitch instead of just the receiver as with the factory hitch. Clearance is really not affected because the hitch is not any lower than the exhaust. You could say this substantial hitch would even serve as sort of a skid plate for the rear end. You could spend a little more for a hitch, but don't.
Seems like a sturdy well made trailer hitch. Wouldn't expect anything less from etrailer.
When I received my trailer hitch, I was amazed at it's quality and looks. I haven't installed it yet but I am sure that it will fit and look great. I highly recommend this product and provider. Thanks.

This trailer hitch is well constructed and was a perfect fit. I highly recommend it. I installed it myself with minimal tools and little effort.
I got quotes for having my old rusted out hitch replaced. Truck shop quoted $450-$500. Dealer quoted $1,000 and said it would take two guys, two hours of labor to replace.
I just did it myself, alone, in my driveway for the price of the part and saved up to $850! Am I happy with trailer.com? Are you kidding me?

What an awesome process! I initially ordered the wrong hitch. Customer service was awesome. Helping me return the first one and the correct one arrived without a hitch!! (lol). I’m not a mechanic, but the directions were clear and easy to follow. The hardest part was moving my exhaust. The fit and parts were perfect. I feel very accomplished! Thank you Lauren A. I’ve used my hitch so much this past year for a bike rack, towing a utility trailer with so much materials & debris from my various construction projects, and have never had any issues. It’s such a good look in my vehicle as well. I hope my review helped someone else as well.

Fantastic service, great communication, quick shipping. Very happy with everything. The muffler caused us some trouble in terms of being in the way of screwing in the hitch placement so we used some tie downs to pull it out just a couple of inches and it worked perfectly. Looks great!
I can't say enough good things about the product, customer service and ease of installation of this receiver ! My wife, bless her soul, and I installed it in about an hour on my 2011 FJ Cruiser and the video tutorials on this site made it a breeze. No special tools, hammer or duct tape were used and no animals were harmed during the entire process. I actually purchased this for (the occasional motorcycle trailer towing) and loading a bike rack on it and purchased the bike rack at the same time.....before paying attention to spacing, etc. for the rack. No worries since the measurements clear the spare tire and life is good !! The only modification I did was to remove the Curt and etrailer stickers from the receiver....sorry guys. :-P
it is a great replacement fit the frame perfectly. easy to install.
