Question:
Good Afternoon, I drive a 2007 Toyota Fj Cruiser. The Fj has a tongue weight of 500lbs. Im curious if i can load my 2016 Yamaha R1 with a wet weight of 439 Lbs on to the Moto-Tote sport bike carrier and tow it to trackdays on the FJ. The Moto-Tote carrier weighs about 63 Lbs. The weight of the two combined is 502 Lbs. I figured i could keep the bike low on fuel while in tow. The bikes wet weight is 439, and one gallon of gas weighs 8.5 Lbs. I also plan to carry the Moto-Totes ramp inside the FJ during the tow. This will further reduce the weight on the hitch. I estimate I can 20 Lbs buy do this and achieve a total weight of 470 Lbs total. My question is, 1 is this realistic? 2 is this possible? I would like real world advise and recommendations. A trailer is not an option for me. Thank you

If the weight of your motorcycle and motorcycle carrier is less than the tongue weight capacity for your 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser then yes, this is feasible. I have personally seen motorcycles being carried on the back of a FJ Cruiser so it is realistic and they do offer trailer hitches and hitch mounted motorcycle carriers so it is also possible.
If you don't already have a trailer hitch then the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13367 is what I recommend. It sounds like you already have a motorcycle carrier in mind but we do have the Ultra-Fab Dirt Bike Carrier part # UF48-979033 which only weighs 50 lbs so this might be a better option for you as you are going to want to cut as much weight as possible.
For real world advice, I highly recommend you use the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs part # F4135 or something similar to help reduce the amount of sag that way you don't lose too much braking power or instability.
