The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver (Part #13328) gives you a solid foundation for towing and hauling. With a Class III rating, it’s built for up to 3,500 lbs of gross trailer weight and 350 lbs of tongue weight, or up to 5,000 lbs GTW and 500 lbs TW when used with weight distribution. The 2" x 2" receiver opening fits most standard ball mounts, bike racks, and cargo carriers, so the gear you already have will slide right in. Whether it’s towing a small camper or carrying a couple of bikes, this hitch has the capacity for everyday utility.
This hitch is made from fully welded steel for long-term strength. The gloss black powder coat finish is layered over a protective base coat for superior rust resistance—even after years of use. It’s great for folks who want something that stays looking clean and holds up to weather, road salt, and rough conditions. The square-tube design adds rigidity and a sturdy, confident look under the rear bumper.
DIYers will appreciate how easy this hitch is to put on. It’s engineered for a custom fit that lines up with existing holes in the vehicle’s frame—no drilling or cutting needed. The complete hardware kit and installation instructions come in the box, so you can bolt it up using common hand tools. Once installed, you’re ready to attach your ball mount, bike rack, or cargo carrier without any extra modifications.

Perfect fit, easily installed, and looks great! All the right parts were included, and the instructions were a great help.
Perfect fit. Very happy. Installed by myself. Didn't have to remove anything. Used a 5 gallon bucket to hold in place and then mounted. 2005 Honda Pilot
Excelent hitch receiver i am very satisfied with how it looks and it was very easy to install only took me about 15 minutes. Thanks etrailer
Great hitch! Quick shipping as it arrived a day ahead of schedule. The box was somewhat beat up from the unwieldy shape and sharp edges on the hitch. More foam would help greatly in the center of the hitch box. The installation video gave the wrong bolt size but the right size bolts were in the box. The entire install was straightforward. I was alone and had no lift so the job was easier due to using a motorcycle jack to help ease and hold the hitch up in position until the bolts were started. Great product that was on the vehicle in under an hour and I saved a $250 install fee. Thanks etrailer!!
Great quality. Easy to install. I had absolutely no problem with the installation. Plan to use it for my bike rack. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.
Perfect fit. Easy install. Love the hitch! Fast shipping. The company even sent an unexpected gift with the hitch, which I was pleasantly surprised by. Great experience.
Must buy product. Easy install with no issues towing. Hitch is affordable and worth every penny. Thanks!
This product arrived at about 2:00 pm yesterday. I got home at 2:45 and by 3:45, the hitch was torqued to the clear specs provided in the instructions. I think it looks GREAT! Every time I pass the rear of my vehicle, I have to admire how almost invisible it is. Very easy to install if you have someone to help hold it while you start the first two bolts. This hitch will be used to tow my BBQ trailer to my events. I couldn't be happier.
The box arrived with a huge hole so I was concerned. Once opened and inspected everything looked fine. The instructions were very helpful and I installed the hitch in about 45 minutes. The hitch is mostly concealed and looks great. I can’t wait to use it. I would highly recommend etrailer and the Curt product.
I would definitely recommend this product, and etrailer.com - they are fast, and very responsive. I'm a tracking geek when it comes to ordering stuff online, and you know right away that they got the order, and when it ships, then the online tracking info shows you on a map exactly where it is. But on to the product! First, the videos on this site, and customer feedback, not to mention good prices and free shipping (over $150) were driving forces in making this purchase from etrailer. I was not disappointed. The shipping was quick (I did pay a few dollars extra for 3-5 days shipping, but only because we're going away in 5 days, and wanted to make sure we had it on time - but I would imagine it would have still gotten here quickly with regular shipping). Just like the video, installing this was a snap. I borrowed a torque wrench from a friend and cleaned out the bolt holes with a wire brush the night before, and the next morning installed the hitch receiver in about 30 minutes. Definitely easier with 2 people - my son help up one side while I put a bolt in the other side, then I was good to go.
Only complaint (minor) is that there should have been extra cardboard support between the part in the center that sticks up and attaches to the bumper. It broke through the box during delivery. I was not damaged, but could have been. The actual hitch connector, although it was wrapped, probably could have had more padding, as there was a chip in the paint on the bottom... I can touch it up, so I'm not too concerned about it.
The hitch is very low profile - others I have seen are larger and more obvious. This one is barely visible below the bumper, other than where you need to connect to.
Fit perfectly on my 07 EX-L. Fit perfectly. Easy installation, just have to angle a bit to get around exhaust.
After making prior purchases from etrailer.com, I was certain I was making a great decision to add a tow-hitch to my 2004 Honda Pilot. After ensuring the correct fit, etrailer.com excelled in providing installation instructions that (even a novice installer) can walk through with ease. Overall, the installation took roughly 45-minutes, thanks to the video installation walk-throughs via etrailer.com. One more reason etrailer.com surpasses the competition.
After owning my 2003 Pilot for 12+ years and 250,000 miles, decided to add a hitch so I could use a bike rack. Instructions were exact and fits perfectly. Took maybe 30 min total from unpacking to tightening last bolt, and that was only because I had to clean 2 of the holes out.
This trailer hitch fit perfectly on my Acura MDX. Installation took me about an hour and half, mainly due to the fact I was not using a lift and lying on my back to do the install. I would definitley suggest having an extra person help with the installation. It would have been difficult if not impossible to hold the hitch in place while and bolt it on at the same time. Video instructions on etrailer made all the difference. The videos notified me of potential issues I might have during the install so that I was prepared for these and they didn't hinder the installation.
Shipping was free and extremely fast (ordered on a Wednesday and arrived the next day).
I highly recommend this hitch and etrailer.com.
I ordered a trailer hitch for my 2004 Honda pilot. It came in less then a week good packing. I watch the video on how to install this helped a lot. I installed it in about 20 minutes it fit perfect and all the right bolts. In the video it shows to clean the threads with a wire brush.
Mine wear full of rust this took me about 40 minutes to clean. I also got the wire harness for the hitch this fit great to about 15 minutes to install. All in all this was a great experience. I would highly recommend this company. I ordered all parts online this was easy to navigate all parts needed.
Its really very sturdy, needed another hand for installing. I installed it on a 2005 Honda Pilot, so needed to remove tow hook on rear driver side to install hitch. I had issues with rusted weld nut on passenger side, one is completely moved out, other two had no threads. I had to order the CURT 18-Inch Trailer Hitch Fish Wire for 1/2-Inch, to install the bolt from top and used a nut from bottom. Where the threads are completely gone, used a Irwin 12-1 25 mm bottom tap to rethread and was able install the bolts.
Primarily using this hitch to carry a 2-bike rack. Used it for a 20 mile round trip so far, everything looks great, no wobbling. Also bought a Rola 2 bike rack from etrailer.
Installed very easily. Good quality. Fast shipping.
This will be a rather long review since I am combining the entire purchase in this one review. To start I am a 60+ yr. old female & not mechanically inclined but after getting an estimate of over $900. 00 from the local Honda dealer to install a receiver & the electrical wiring so that I could tow a small trailer I decided to shop around. I wasn't even sure of what all I would need or what the parts were called except for the ball. I visited a few websites & sent a few emails to inquire. Etrailer was the first to respond to my questions & provided links so I went back to their site. After viewing a video on the different receivers that would fit my Honda Pilot I favored the Curt receiver. That was my starting point & I moved on to the next item I would need which was the hitch. I never knew there were so many possibilities & I didn't have a clue what the rise & drop was all about so I sent another email. Within a matter of hours I'd gotten a response from a fellow named Jon G. He was just the hook-up I needed!! The links he provided answered all of questions I had & gave me the education I needed. (I was still waiting for responses from the other websites I'd sent inquiries to.) I was certain at this point that I would make my purchase with etrailer.com & proceeded filling up my shopping cart with the Curt receiver, the Curt ball mount, the chrome hitch ball, the electrical wiring & an anti-rattle hitch pin. Before I paid for the items I asked Jon G. for 1 more favor. Would he kindly view the items in my cart to make sure I had matched the items up so that each would fit correctly with the other. He did & I made the purchase. Within a few days the order arrived & I was confident enough after watching the installation video & reading other reviews that I could install everything myself. I used the lift in a friend's garage & enlisted the help of a female friend. She held the receiver up on one end while I was at the other installing the bolts. Then it was her turn. Together we had the receiver installed in less than 30 minutes. It was so easy!! Next, we installed the wiring That took close to an hour. Mainly because we were trying to be so careful when pulling back the rubber & popping out the panel clips but we got 'er done & did a beautiful job of it, if I may say so myself. All in all, it took almost 2 hours to complete but that includes disposing of cardboard boxes, putting away the tools, lowering the S-L-O-W lift & backing the vehicle out of the garage. etrailer is #1 in Customer Service & Satisfaction, Product Variety & Quality & Anything that You want to Hitch. Well, almost anything.....you can't hitch your kid....or, your dog....er, dogs. Thanks again, etrailer. You guys are BOSS!!!
I've used this a bunch of times to tow several motorcycles on my 2008 Honda pilot. The hitch and ball are very sturdy and have held up really well after a year of use. No hitch shows no signs of wear even after several thousand miles of towing. Installation is very easy. Definitely recommend!!!
Installed this hitch on a 2006 Honda Pilot in about 40 minutes. Fit was beautiful. Nice product.
Here's a helpful hint for cleaning corroded weld nuts. Get a 1/2 " fitting brush from the plumbing dept of your local hardware store. Cut the handle off and place the brush in your cordless drill. Same principal as the battery terminal brush only much faster and easier.
I cleaned the six M12 holes first then went to the two M10 holes. Total thread cleaning time was less than ten minutes for 8 holes. All bolts spun in with my fingers when I was finished. Good luck!

Buy this hitch from e-trailer. Product and service are second to none.
I was able to install the hitch and wiring harness easily. The hitch came with the bolts and washers that were needed. I was even able to order the cleaning brush. They had how videos that really were helpful, watch a couple minutes and go to work. I really think etrailer is the best!
I couldn't be more happy with the ordering, shipping, and installation.

Its been a year and my trailer hitch works great I used a lot more than I thought I would. I would definitely recommend etrailer.com to my friends and family I see myself probably three to four hundred dollars doing it myself and only took me a couple hours
Good product fitment was good My only complaint was like many others was packaging The box it came in was destroyed in center and hitch was scuffed up a little. The whole middle of the box was open on one side luckily no hardware was lost but other than that I am pleased with product and delivery time
Have ordered a few small items over the years from etrailer and I have to say, they are a great company! I've only called them once with questions and they were professional and accommodating.
As for my latest purchase, this Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver was delivered within 3 days of ordering. (Nice!)
I installed this on my "new to me" 2007 Honda Pilot FWD.
The Curt receiver fit perfectly. All holes drilled to spec and matched up with no problems or modifications.
It took me (alone) approximately 45 minutes to install. (Watch etrailer's installation videos!) I did NOT have to remove the muffler at all but I did remove the spare tire just to get some work area space.
Everything went relatively smooth as you can see in the picture I used a standard recycling tub to rest one end of the trailer hitch on. I was able to tilt the receiver up and over the muffler, then set the one side down on the recycle bin tub while the other end rested on the muffler.
I then bolted (loosely) the muffler side, let it hang then moved over to the driver's side doing the same. Next was to bolt in the center bolts, which I found should be the ones to tighten first once it's centered.
Overall the most difficult part was seating the bolts. This is no fault of Curt but I think it was more due to working upside down on my back...there's a backwards feel to doing it that way.
Got all bolts seated and torqued to spec (although my old, out of shape self struggled tightening to 86 ft/lbs, but I got it!
Trailer receiver looks good, appears very sturdy and solid with good welds. Would definitely trust the Curt brand!

Thats awesome! I appreciate your review and the play by play. I think other viewers skim other reviews until they find one like this because first-hand experience is super valuable, so thank you for that. So do you plan on towing or using the hitch for a bike rack or something?
Great looking hitch, received it fast and fits perfectly on our 2005 Honda Pilot. Came with everything needed to install. Haven't installed the wiring harness yet but it looks like it will be a breeze too.

Great. I love how easy it was to install.
