Question:

I want to ask that since the curt hitch for 03-08 honda pilot is the same as for 01-06 acura mdx, would that mean that the oem hitch from the mdx would fit on a pilot right?

Aftermarket trailer hitch fits for the 2005 Acura MDX and the 2005 Honda Pilot are indeed the same. Either vehicle can be fitted with three different Class III hitches, part # 75599 from Draw-Tite, part # 13328 from Curt and part 87454 from Hidden Hitch. No drilling is required for installing any hitch on either vehicle.

Since we do not sell the OEM hitch that was installed on the MDX I cannot guarantee that it will fit the Pilot but odds are pretty good that it will. Some vehicles' OEM hitches are bolted on while others are welded, so as long as your OEM hitch is bolted on you could remove it and potentially reinstall it.

Note that hitch installation hardware is intended to use used only once. It cannot be re-used. You will need to obtain the correct hardware kit for the OEM hitch before you attempt to install it. Your local Honda dealer may be able to help.

Or you can simply purchase a new aftermarket hitch which will come complete with all required hardware and instructions.
