Comparing Trailer Hitch Options For 2007 Honda Pilot

Updated 01/06/2026 | Published 01/03/2026

Question:

Hi, Your site shows you have etrailer, draw-tite and towsmart hitches that would fit my 2007 Honda Pilot. Your video shows a comparison of the draw-tite and curt hitches. Is the curt 13328 available for my Pilot? The etrailer looks a lot like the curt. Thanks.

Hey Scott, thanks for reaching out. So we do have the Curt hitch for the 2007 Honda Pilot available as part # 13328. I am not sure why this is not included in our fit guide listing right now, but they are definitely in stock and available.

That said, your observation about the Curt # 13328 and etrailer # e98851 hitches is spot on. Our etrailer hitches are actually made by Curt, so both hitches are structurally identical. The only noteworthy difference is the etrailer hitch uses a matte black powder coating, while the Curt uses a gloss black coating. We have found the matte black coating is better at resisting and hiding scuffs and scratches. Also, the matte black typically blends better with the underbody of the vehicle. A lot of the time, the plastic underbody panels are also a matte black so it just looks better. Also most of the time, the etrailer hitches will cost a little bit less than the Curt. So in this case the # e98851 hitch is definitely what I recommend.

What will you be using the hitch for? Towing a trailer? Or a bike rack or something?

Hi Jesse, Thanks for the detailed reply, it looks like I will be ordering the etrailer #e98851 hitch. I don't need it until spring, since just I plan to use it to haul bikes, and its too cold right now to install it. I don't have a trailer right now but you never know. Sincerely, Scott Moyer

@ScottM Glad I was able to help! I definitely understand not needing it till spring - not as much recreation going on during the winter. Although it is like 60 degrees here in Missouri today, basically shorts weather lol. The hitch will still be available going forward, and you know where to find me when the time comes :)
