  • Does Installing Curt Trailer Hitch # 13013 Require Removing Rear Bumper
I checked the install instructions for the Curt Hitch part # 13013 and you have to unbolt the bumper brackets and remove the bumper.

  • Width of etrailer Trailer Hitch for 2005 Toyota Tacoma
I couldn't find an order with us so I'm not sure what you purchased before but etrailer hitch you're looking at, part # e98850, is custom designed to fit the Toyota Tacoma from 2005 through 2015. I'm also not sure where you're measuring exactly. This hitch is about 38 inches inside the brackets and about 35-1/4 inches center on center between the holes that mount to the bottom of your truck's frame. I've made a diagram to show where I measured, as well as a video from when we installed...

  • Solution for Mounting Flanges of Curt Hitch Not Fitting Properly to 2003 Toyota Tacoma
Sometimes in shipping the mounting flanges of the hitches we offer will get bent in. What we recommend is to use an open stairwell or a jack to use controlled force to bend the hitch back so that it will bolt up properly. As long as you don't see any creasing or paint flaking (evidence of fatigue) you are fine.

  • Recommended Hitch for a 1997 Toyota Tacoma
It definitely will! The Curt Hitch item # 13013 is custom fit for all models of the 1997 Toyota Tacoma including your 2WD. This class III hitch has a 2" receiver, is custom fit for your truck, and bolts to it with included hardware. I have linked an installation video below to show you how to get it set up. If you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item # C55379 and a ball mount kit item # C45534.

  • Tips for Fitting Curt Hitch # 13013 onto 2001 Toyota Tacoma with Rear Bumper
What you described is kind of a common issue with the install of the Curt hitch # 13013 that you referenced. We had a customer come back with tips on how to get everything lined up properly: Re-install the bumper brackets and make sure the tabs go through the slots on the side bracket." Ok, but then they must move forward to align the holes but the slot between the tab and the now doubled metal is not wide enough. Hence, I had to grind the metal out in order for the tab to clear. Once...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2001 Toyota Tacoma
For your 2001 Toyota Tacoma, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 13013. This hitch is a confirmed fit for your truck and will give you a bolt on installation without any drilling required. For your trailer wiring, I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C55379. This will install behind the tail lights of your truck to your factory wiring plugs. For a ball mount, I recommend the etrailer.com...

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2003 Toyota Tacoma
The 2003 Toyota Tacoma and the 2011 Toyota Tacoma require different hitches so you would not be able to swap one hitch between the 2 years. For your 2003 Toyota Tacoma I recommend Curt hitch # 13013. This is a Class III hitch rated for 500 pounds tongue weight and 5,000 pounds gross trailer weight. When used with weight distribution it is rated for 600 pounds tongue weight and 6,000 pounds gross trailer weight. I have linked a video showing installation of this hitch for you. If you plan...

  • Reasons for 1 Hour 10 Minute Install Time for the CURT Hitch # 13013 on a 2002 Toyota Tacoma
There are actually 6 bolts connecting the CURT trailer hitch # 13013, to the frame on the 2002 Toyota Tacoma, and the factory bumper will need to be removed and reinstalled to complete the installation. This will require disconnection and reconnection of the license plate light wiring, and correctly repositioning the rear bumper to complete the installation. Although the installation requires 1hr 10min to complete this is not a difficult installation to undertake. One tip I can offer is...

  • Towing a Light Trailer with the Bumper of a 1997 Toyota Tacoma
The bumper on your 1997 Toyota Tacoma will be fine to tow the 600 pound trailer and boat. You will want to check the truck owners manual for the towing capacity just to make sure. The T-connector wiring harness # 118379 is indeed correct for your truck. It sounds like you are on top of things! The 4-Way flat trailer connector is one of the most common connectors. If you did need a different type of connector to match what the trailer requires, the 4-Way flat can be adapted. I have linked...

No, you will not have to add any spacers on the driver or passenger side between the bumper and the bumper brackets when installing the Curt Hitch # 13013 onto your 2004 Toyota Tacoma. You will need to remove the two bolts mounting the bumper and remove the bumper from the vehicle. Then you will have to remove the bumper brackets, position the receiver against the frame and install the 1/2 inch bolts. No additional spacers are needed. • 1996 Toyota Tacoma V6 High Capacity Trailer Hitch Recommendation
The highest rated trailer hitch we offer for the 1996 Toyota Tacoma is the Curt hitch part # 13013 which has a 5k capacity when not used with a weight distribution system but with a WD system it has a 6k capacity. If you are unfamiliar with WD system you would need to check out the help article I attached that covers what they are and how they work. • Is There a Trailer Hitch for a 2000 Toyota Tacoma That Mounts To the Bumper
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13013 is a great option for a 2000 Toyota Tacoma and what I recommend using. The trailer hitch attaches to the frame which is the only option for this vehicle, there isn't any sort of mount for the bumper aside from using a standard hitch ball in the existing hole. In regards to the lack of undercoating, I really don't see why bolting a standard trailer hitch to the frame would be any issue at all. If a coating were applied before you'd have the same...
