Video Transcript for Review of Westin Bumper - Step Bumper - 32018

Hi everyone. Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking together at our Westin Perfect Match Series Rear Step Bumper for a 1995 through 2004 Toyota Tacoma with a nice black powder coat finish. So, folks, this is a custom fit application, so be sure you're double-checking our fit guide here at Etrailer's homepage and things like your make and model where it asks for vehicle information. Make sure you're getting the right parts the first time. Now, this is gonna be a factory style replacement bumper, so it's gonna look just like OEM if not better, and it's gonna create a nice sturdy step for you to access the truck with ease.

But more importantly, it has been made specifically for a custom fit application, so you don't have to worry about drilling or anything. It's a quick and easy bolt-on installation with all the included mounted hardware. So, you're gonna have two different brackets. These are little brackets on the the back of it here. (bracket knocking) And then you're gonna have two wiring connectors for your lights and of course the bulbs, all the connectors and the bolts (bolts jingling) to bolt everything onto the truck itself.

You got a nice little plastic capper in the center, that's a three quarter-inch diameter bolt hole. You can pop this out, put your ball on here, and then have your trailer connector on the ball right there. Now, part of the molding on the bumper itself, you got a tongue weight of 350 pounds max and a max towing weight, gross towing trailer weight of 3,500 pounds capacity. And as I said, you can see that nice black powder coat finish. You got the license plate bracket here with the two holes already in place, so you can mount your license plate as well.

The top of it here has a mold over the top of the hole part here and that's gonna give you extra protection on the bumper top, itself. Behind that, the whole frame of this one piece bumper is solid steel. It's been obviously pressed into shape and everything, but it's nice, sturdy, it looks great and everything here is gonna last you for a long time. You do have UV resistant, because of the plastic polymer here on top and also that black powder coat finish as well. You have safety chain cutouts on each side built into the bumper here and everything like that as far as safety.

And if I flipped it over here, lemme give you a view of the back real quick. There we go, (bumper knocking) So, I got it upside down, flipped to the backside here as you can see, but again, nice steel construction, very sturdy. Again, your brackets are gonna attach to this and then into the frame of the truck, itself. So, very easy installation. Pull out your old bumper, slap this new one in. Follow the instructions as far as tightening down everything and you should be good to go. Some tech tips, talking to the installers here at etrailer.com, they mentioned on some of the older vehicles, obviously, you're gonna want to spray up any bolts before you take 'em out, maybe the day before, something like that, if you know you're gonna do it on a weekend or weeknight, spray 'em up the day before, help loosen up the old gunk and rust and whatnot. Make those remove a lot easier. You don't want to get anything broken off in there when you're removing it, so keep that in mind.
