Designed for coolant systems with a 41- to 60-qt capacity. External tank heater connects to your engine block and radiator hose to circulate warm fluid in the cold. Allows cab to heat up faster, creates easier start-ups, and prevents frozen hoses.

Notes:
Start your engine easier and warm your cab faster in cold weather with this circulating tank heater. Heating your engine coolant keeps it from thickening and freezing, resulting in more reliable start-ups and smoother operation altogether. It also lessens the workload and extends the life of your vehicle's battery. And because starting your engine when it's warm creates less condensation in the engine block than starting it when it's cold, your engine will get better initial fuel vaporization, which causes fewer emissions and less pollution.
This external tank heater connects to both your heater core hose and engine block drain as an effective way to heat your whole coolant system. The heated coolant pushes the cold coolant through the engine block, heater core, and radiator, and then thermosiphons it back to the heater. The heater's internal thermostat automatically shuts the heater off at 175 degrees Fahrenheit to keep the coolant at an optimal temperature, which allows it to heat safely overnight. As a result, your coolant system will be preheated for a smooth startup, your cab will heat and defrost faster, and you won't have to worry about frozen hoses.
The included fitting lets you attach this system to your engine block drain. If there is no drain in your engine block, then you can use a lower radiator hose connector (sold separately) to splice into your lower radiator hose instead. The included Y-shaped tube will connect the tank to the heater core hose that leads to your engine block, water pump, or manifold, depending on your application.
For the thermosiphon to work correctly, the tank must be positioned vertically. Use the included mounting bracket to secure the tank to your vehicle's frame rail, fender, or firewall. Once the tank is mounted and all lines are properly connected, run the power cord out through your grille so that it can be plugged into a 120-volt outlet or extension cord.

Hi, everyone. Steven here with etrailer. Let's take a look at our Kat's Heaters Thermostatically Controlled Circulating Tank Heater. Folks, this is gonna put out an impressive 2,000 watts of power and 20 amps. It does work with cooling systems that use 41 to 60 quartz of fluid, so make sure your engine holds those amounts. You can check your OEM manufacturer's manual to find that information or call your OEM maker.
It does feature a 5-foot long NEMA style 5-20 plug and you would route that through your grill and then plug it into your extension cord or whatnot. That matches that same design. So again, this is not your standard up and down, up and down. It has a sideways one here, so I wanna make sure you're aware of that. Make sure you have the right style plug to make this work.
And what this is gonna do is gonna circulate all the coolant through your engine block, heater core, and radiator in cold temperatures. And it's gonna keep them from freezing up. It's gonna also help you heat up the cab quicker. Defrost is gonna come out a lot faster because it's gonna keep that coolant at a warm 175 degrees Fahrenheit. And it does have a thermostatically controlled internal thermostat that will shut off when it reaches that 175.
And that's gonna protect everything, keep it from overheating, those kind of thing. The tank here is a diecast aluminum. So, it's impact and corrosion resistant and it's gonna maintain its strength during those high heats. You're gonna get the hose clamps, you're gonna get the little tube here, this guy here, and then of course the bracket and the tank here or the heater. This bracket goes around the heater and the bolt will clamp this together.
And then you will need another bolt or screw that you would source yourself locally if you don't have one. To then mount it, we're gonna need to mount it inside of the engine compartment. Well, folks, I think that's gonna wrap it up our quick look together at this Kat's Heaters Thermostatically Controlled Circulating Tank Heater. I'm Steven with etrailer. Thanks for watching and have a great day.

Still works great. Also know that I took the other unit apart and discovered the electrical contact points were corroded, so I cleaned them and now it is working fine also. Thank you for this very reliable and sturdy product. I will buy more of them as needed and I already tell other mechanics about them.
