Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this 72 inch long by two inch wide steel piano hinge. Now, this hinge will provide a nice, sturdy, continuous support along the length of your cabinet, your door, or your panel. These are great for oversized doors, trailer doors, or entrance doors. And what's nice is they will provide more support than multiple small hinges.
This continuous design will reduce the stress on the hinge when it's used with heavier doors. Want to zoom in just to show you up close. You can see it will rotate 270 degrees. So basically, this will go back about 90 degrees and then all the way forward close another 180 degrees, so a total of 270 degree rotation for fully opening and closing motion. Now, this one is a durable steel construction.
Has a nice unplated mill finish to it. And this is a weld-on or bolt-on installation. Now, to bolt it on, it will require drilling holes into the hinge. And this hinge can be cut down to the size that you would need. This part is made in the USA.
Few specs on this, let me just zoom back out here. We'll do the overall length. From one end to the other is right at 72 inches or six feet in length. The width is gonna be the open width. So, in other words, let me just zoom in and we'll do that one.
So, you can see here it is fully open 180 degrees. So, if we put a ruler on it, there's your two inch wide that's the open width. Now, the knuckle length. So, in other words, each one of these are considered a knuckle. So, if we measured, the length on those is gonna be right at one inch. And the pin diameter, in other words, the diameter of the pin that goes through these knuckles that attach the two pieces together, it's gonna be a quarter of an inch in diameter.
