Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today, we're gonna take a look at this Gen-Y Hitch Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for your Dodge Ram OEM puck systems. Now, this gooseneck hitch adapter is going to work with your Dodge OEM factory puck system, giving you a five inch offset for additional clearance between your truck bed and trailer, and that clearance is going to be great in allowing you to make sharper turns and to fully open your truck bed while you are still hooked up to your trailer. Another nice benefit of this adapter is it's not going to add any additional bulk in your truck bed, and its simple design is going to leave extra room in your truck bed for other gear. Now, this has a ball size of 2 5/16 inches and a weight capacity of 25,000 pounds, and this is a quick and easy installation into your Dodge's OEM puck system. You're going to be able to switch out your current ball mount in seconds, and I wanna give you a brief demonstration of how easy this is to install. So first, you are going to remove the included safety pin, and then, you will want to pull up on this T-handle and give it 1/4 turn just like that, and that is going to disengage our balls here in the stem.
And so, while you have this unlatched, you're just going to go ahead and insert the stem into your Dodge's gooseneck pocket, and then these ends will drop into your pucks in the bed of your truck, and then once you have this set in place, you're just gonna go ahead and turn the T-handle 1/4 of a turn again, and that's going to drop down and lock into place and reengage those spring loaded balls. And then, you just replace the safety pin and you are good to go. Now, just an idea of what this is going to look like once you have this installed, as you can see, this is going to take out very little space in the bed of your truck, and again, a very easy installation. Now, I also wanted to pull out my ruler here and just to confirm that clearance with you, measuring from the center of our stem to the center of our ball, as you can see, that's where we have our five inch offset. And then, this is made here in the USA of a powder coated steel, so this is going to do great in resisting corrosion.
Gen-Y is known for making very robust products, and in my opinion, this adapter is no different, so I think it's going to hold up really well for you and be very long lasting. This does have a limited lifetime warranty. So if you are looking for an adapter that will give you a five inch offset for additional clearance between your truck bed and trailer and will easily fit into your Dodge's factory puck system, this is going to be a great adapter for you to consider.
