Question:
Hi, I have a 2019 RAM 3500 crew cab dually with long bed with factory puck system. Just purchased 2025 GD Reflection 337. Looking to install Reese Goose box. I currently have a Curt A20 hitch for our GD Solitude. Im reading a lot about offset hitch for the truck bed. Once I remove the Curt A20, do I need an offset hitch, or would it be helpful. Or should I just purchase hitch ball and chain hooks. The Gen Y offset gooseneck ball looks like it provides extra attachment stability. Thanks

Hey Tim, thanks for reaching out. Generally, with long bed trucks like your Ram 3500, turning clearance will not be an issue, so the offset ball would not be needed. If you want to be 100% sure, you can use the following formula to determine your turning clearance:
(A + B) - C = Clearance
A = Distance from the fifth wheel jaw center to the truck cab
B = Offset used
C = Width of the nose of the trailer divided by 2
You most likely will need a standard ball instead of the offset ball. For that I recommend the B&W # BWGNXA2062. Their ball has a release handle that makes removing the ball easy. It will also be a lot more durable than other latch designs.
If you do decide to go with an offset ball, the Gen-Y # GY83XR is the best option.
Lastly, if you need help finding the correct Reese goosebox for your camper, I can help with that. Just send me the SN and model number from the sticker on your pin box and I can use that to find the correct replacement.
Reply below and let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.

Hey Tim, how did things turn out with the gooseneck setup on your Ram 3500 and the Reflection 337? Did you end up using the standard B&W ball or try the Gen-Y offset option? Your experience could help others setting up a similar truck and trailer combo.
