The puck feet on the Gen-Y Hitch Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Dodge Ram OEM Puck Systems # GY83XR is just to help stabilize the ball mount and does not lock into place in the puck. The locking mechanism on top will lock the shank into the gooseneck hitch for fast and easy installation and removal.

The puck inserts do not come with the Gen-Y Hitch Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Dodge Ram OEM Puck Systems - 5" Offset #GY83XR. You can get those though with the Safety Chain Loops #C60617.
