Video Transcript for Ultimate Overview of the Taylor Made Marine Gas Strut for Boat Hatches

Today we're going to take a look at the Taylor Made 20 inch long, stainless steel gas shock. Now, this gas shock is designed to replace your worn out or damaged shock on your boat hatch. It is a stainless steel construction, so it provides maximum corrosion resistance and so it's perfect for high salt water areas. This does easily install in minutes, no special tools required. And when you do install this, you'll always want to install it with this rod portion facing down, and it is recommended to replace these gas shocks in pairs.A few specs on this. The connection it's designed to fit on is a 10 millimeter ball socket design.

And basically how that works. Let me just zoom in here to show you the details on this, how you would install it. Basically, if you look at the very end, you can see what will go onto your ball. And the way you install it is you just pull up on the cap here, this cap that's right on top of the socket portion. And when you pull that up enough, that'll release the pressure.

You can see you pull it up enough and it releases the pressure on those four clips, and that'll allow you to push it onto the 10 millimeter ball. Once it pushes on there, push that cap back down. That'll put pressure on those clamps and secure it to the ball. It's a very easy installation. You actually don't even need any tools really to install it.Length on this is 20 inches, and that's measured from the center of this ball socket to the center of this one.

So if we take our tape measure center to center, measures a 20-inch length. Output force on this shock is 60 pounds. But that should do it for the review on the Taylor Made 20 inch long, stainless steel gas shock.
