Reese's outboard installation kit for your fifth-wheel trailer hitch was designed with safety and convenience in mind. Just like the original custom mounting brackets, these brackets install using existing holes in the truck frame, minimizing installation time. The biggest difference with this outboard kit is the extended-length rails. These above-bed rails are 5 inches longer than standard, universal fifth-wheel rails so that they will match up with the mounting points on the brackets, which sit below the bed and outside of your truck's frame. The result is a much simpler installation process, wherein most underbed components can be easily avoided. Because you are working outside the frame rails, you also have easier access with your tools and more room to work, making the whole process less of a pain.
The base rails included in this installation kit feature a standard 10-bolt design. Each of these rails attaches to the underbed brackets with two carriage bolts at both ends. A single bolt is used in the center of each rail to further secure it in your truck bed. The result is a set of base rails that remains firmly in place thanks to 10 points of contact.
This entire installation kit is built to be SAE J2638 compliant and has been extensively tested per specified accelerated-life-cycle criteria for fifth-wheel trailer hitches. The requirements for testing are based on the European-style test of 900,000 cycles, making this testing process among the most thorough and intensive in the industry.

2021 RAM 1500 with 5'7" Box, Split Tailgate & 3.0l ECO Diesel
It fit, but it took a day and a half to install, mainly from needing to drop the folding step, disconnect the fuel tank, lift the bed up 6" & grind two brackets off the underside of the bed that I'm assuming must be bolt up location for the optional "RAM BOX". In their defense I could have probably done it in 4 hours with a full-on shop that had a 4-post hoist & lots of room to work, lay out tools, parts etc.
To those that are considering ordering this, don't fool yourself with a 4 hour install if you're like me with a 2 car garage. Prepare for a full weekend of work & keep the CL Smoothies in the fridge until you're done for the day, this is not a "have a few beers and turn some wrenches" project, you'll need a cool head and your wits about you.
You'll definitely need a die grinder with a tungsten cone bit as well as a 4-1/2" angle grinder with cut off wheels to grind off spot welds and trim a 1/16 - 1/8" off misc brackets on the truck itself.
One other thing, keep your impact off the 7/16" carriage bolts, those are not grade 8 and they will snap. Also keep an eye on the blocks they ship out for backer washers to those carriage bolts, if they over lap (the ones in particular are the 2 bolts that are stacked side by side), they will snap. Hand tighten them and make sure they're aligned before torquing or you'll be in for a headache.
The photos I attached are of the bracket that needed to be removed & the misc grinding you may need to do. Keep an eye out for those brackets, they'll be towards the front of the box. If you have those, get ready for an exciting weekend you'll be talking about for a while.

Product was just what I needed, the only thing was it was missing a few bolts, but they were easy to find in a hardware store.

This refers to the fifth wheel hitch kit which is installed in a pickup truck. There are many variables to consider when finding the correct kit and they did it perfectly.
We had to modify everything to make it fit right nothing would fit a nightmare

This kit is custom brackets for a 2020 Ram 1500, no drilling or modifying should be necessary. I can help see where your issues were if you can give me more information on what modifications you had to make.
