Got this for my 1980 Austrian Pinzgauer 710 that has the 7 pin EU style plug and a 24v system. I’ve got several US trailers with LED lights that work perfectly with this plug. The LEDs seem to handle the 24 volts ok saving me the hassle of having to relamp incandescent lights. This has been far easier than building a plug from scratch, I would however like to have a seven pin EU to pin US for my heavier trailers with brakes. I’ll probably end up building one but for my light towing this is a great solution.
Fits my 1973 Pinzgauer, perfectly.

Received product in good order, well packaged, initial some delay, manufacturer was chased by etrailer, and earlier dispatched by manufacturer; delivery trail clear stated, very good. On receiving verified at UHAUL: connect with 1983 Land Rover (Defender) 110 Stationwagon (photo: rear, while on transport): all functioned ok. Apparently some diode(s) included, as the 7 pin has individual stop light which translates as left AND right indicator on flat pin. Emergency flashing (all indicators left and right) tested ok at UHAUL (connecting to trailer). LR has European homologated 3.5 metric Ton (7700 lbs) tow hook and has done some 60,000+ miles towing with current odometer reading 578,000+ km (on/about 360k miles)

This adapter worked exactly as described! I wanted to retain the original connector on my imported Land Rover Defender and this worked great.

Great build quality, but unfortunately it will not work to legally use a 4-pin trailer being towed by a 7-pin Euro/Land Rover plug. Its simply mapping 4 of the 7 pins to the following pins on the 4-pin side. Left running, Right running, Stop and negative, there is no provision for indicators or dual sided brake lights. It needs diodes (which it does not have) to do this. etrailer just needs to update the description as this is a good basis to make various adapters.
This product worked perfectly for my application. I have a 2014 Mahindra 5010 tractor with a European type socket for a trailer. This adapter allowed me to go from the European type socket to my standard 4 pin flat plug on my trailer. Thank you Etrailer for supporting a wide variety of applications.

I have the same situation, but my tractor turn signals are separate from the brake lights. Does it still work? Did you have to rewire anything? Thanks.Mary

No wiring necessary. Plugs into the flat 4 pin then directly into the tractor socket. Used my trailer for a hayride during Halloween this year. Worked great.
Exactly what I needed to tow my utility trailer with Mercedes Swiss Army "Jeep-like" vehicle. My G-Wagon has the European round 7-pin trailer jack and this adapter was the solution I was looking for. Quick delivery and a very reasonable price.

only used a couple times a year, so its still in great shape.
Worked great for me but I had to add 2 diodes inside; 1 between each turn signal lead and the brake lights lead.

Still happy with the product although sometimes I accidentally plug in the connector upside down and none of my trailer lights work. The connector has a tab on it to ensure it only plugs in one way, but the plastic is so soft that you can still plug it in upside down without noticing.
Solid built patch cable for Land Rover round trailer connectors. Great price from Etrailer too.

Working great after a year, good product
I initially called etraier to ask if this would fit my make and model (96 European model C250 Diesel Mercedes). The etrailer rep said it would not fit.
After some further online research, all evidence supported this adapter would in fact work. Despite the reps advice I purchased it (very easy to do with etrailer site). It arrived quickly and upon testing it with my car and trailer it worked like a charm! I don't use it very often, but it's a year now and I've had no troubles with it.
I drove everywhere in town to find this adaptor for my Land Rover Discovery with no luck. Then found it with ease on this site. Fits perfectly. Thank you.

Product is good, what really helped me though was their customer support. My 91 Land Rover had the 7-pin euro plug and the wiring does not convert through this connector. I had to get an extra converter which they carried in stock as well. Thanks to their help all worked about great.
This product was exactly as promised and is the perfect product for converting my Land Rover Defender European style 7-pin to a U.S. style 4-pin. Additionally, the professionals at etrailer were quick to respond and answered my questions fully and provided schematics to back it up. I cannot tell you how impressed I am with etrailer.
Great service and followup. Unfortunately, although the part was for a Land Rover, it did not fit my Land Rover Discovery 98. I'll just have to hardwire the trailer connector myself. It's too bad that there is not an adapter for the trailer plug on my Discovery.
Used this with a 2004 Volvo that has european wiring harness. Plugged right in and the lights, brakes, and turn signal all worked as needed. Plugged right in without any hassle, and half the price of a similar adapter found on eBay. Only concern is the all plastic material makes it easier to damage.
I have an Audi and wanted to add a tow bar and wiring for a trailer. It came with a 13 pin plug. After a lot of searching, an exchange came up on etrailer.com that provided a means of using adapters rather than doing the hard wiring. They also sold the part I needed (this one) at a great price.
Bought the trailer wiring adapter for my 99 range rover. Works great and much less hassle than having to rewire. I would recommend etrailer for any vehicle connectors. I've been very pleased with the quality and the price. Thanks a lot.
I just purchased a VW Tristar Syncro Transporter, #247 of 500, with an original european trailer lighting connection (7 prong). This adapter was clearly pictured and described on the etrailer site and it works perfectly. The price was fair and the quality appears good. All lights work!

How cool! I had never heard of a Pinzgauer and I just googled it. Very cool! Have you had to do a lot of work on yours? If you ever felt like sending in pictures, it would be neat to see!
