Question:
Hello, I am looking for a trailer wire harness for my 2019 RAV4 Limited, AWD, gas model. From what I can see online, there are two options: 118801 and C56434 At first glance, these two are similar apart from the maximum amperage they can handle. Is there any reason why should I choose one over the other and which one is fact is the better option? I would also need a 4 pin to 7 pin converter as I am based in Europe. The only option I could find is 118710. Are there any alternative to this one? I am concerned with the isolation of the wires on the 4 pin end, not sure why it doesn`t run all the way to the end where the connector is. Regards

The # 118801 and # C56434 are both confirmed to fit the 2019 Toyota RAV4. However, if you have the EU model of the RAV4 there is no guarantee these will work with your vehicle. As far as functionality is concerned, these two options are the same. However, the best choice is the Tekonsha # 118801. We have found Tekonsha to be the most reliable when it comes to wiring so I would always choose their wiring harness if one is available.
The # 118710 is specifically designed for the Land Rover. Regardless, this is a vehicle side adapter. If you're already installing the # 118801 you will have the same 4-way connector without using an adapter on your RAV4. If you're trying to use the vehicle 4-way with a European style 7-way on the trailer for lights you would have to make your own custom adapter. You canuse the # HM48138 for one end and then you would have to choose the appropriate 7-way for the other end and wire them together. We don't carry a European 7-way so you would need to acquire that elsewhere.
